"Alright." Anna heaved herself to her feet, patting Amaya's head as she passed. "You two nap." She grinned teasingly as she headed for the bathroom.

"Perhaps." Altair didn't think so, though. His feelings weren't usually without reason. But they'd have to wait and see.

Iris rolled her eyes, but closed them and settled in for a bit. A nap sounded good, actually.

Ezio could tell his friend was uneasy.

"Do you think it might be the Apple?" he asked after a moment. It was the only thing he could think of that would set Altair on edge like this.

"It is possible," Altair acknowledged. "I check on it but something still feels..." He trailed off with a shrug.

Ezio nodded.

"I can keep an eye on Iris and the little one, if you want to check," he offered.

Altair nodded and slipped upstairs to go check on the Apple. He had just picked it up when the bottom of his stomach fell out, the same feeling as being moved somewhere/somewhen by the Apple.

He blinked a few times, automatically glancing around to see where exactly he was and where Iris and Amaya were. He almost relaxed when he noticed they were outside Masyaf.

"Iris?" He looked around, starting to get worried.

Anna yelped when she was suddenly not in her tub at home, but in a smaller tub in a very different room. She sloshed around as she grabbed for her knives, which had not made the trip, and for a moment she just sort of flailed and panicked.

Ezio only barely managed to keep his footing when he was suddenly moved somewhere/when else. He knew the feeling by now, and immediately went for one of his knives as he looked around. His eyes widened when he saw the familiar walls of his own hideout.

"Anna?" he called as he went out into the hallway cautiously.

Iris jumped and tightened her hold on Amaya as she felt suddenly and momentarily weightless. When the feeling dissipated, she was still sitting, but now under a low, wide tree. Carefully, she stood up and held Amaya with one arm while the other went for a weapon. The baby was fussing, unsettled by the trip, and Iris tried to settle her. She relaxed marginally when she heard Altair.

"We're alright," she said as she got out from under the low foliage and went over to him. She looked down at Amaya. The infant was still fussing, dark eyes tearing up as she got ready to really cry. Softly, Iris shushed her and cuddled her.

"In here!" Anna called, grabbing onto the sides of the tub as she tried to calm herself. "What the hell just happened?" Because that was the big question, and she wanted answers. Now.

Altair nodded, moving over to them and looking them both over quickly. He put a hand on Amaya's head, relaxing a little more.

"We're in Masyaf," he said quietly. "But I do not know when."

"I'm not sure," Ezio replied as he opened the door a bit so he could see her and reassure himself she was alright. "However... I think we're back. In my hideout."

Iris glanced up at Masyaf. It wasn't in ruins, so they couldn't possibly be all that near her own time.

"I'll follow you, then," she said, holding Amaya close.

"Yeah. The question is when." Anna didn't get up, but she did turn to face him. "Hey, toss me a knife, would you? Mine vanished in the travel and I feel weird without one."

Altair nodded and started walking, taking his time to observe and try to figure out what time it was. He stopped in the town, glancing around quickly before he headed for the path that led to the fortress.

Ezio nodded and gave her one of his knives. He understood how she felt without weapons.

"See if you can find some...clothes," he said. "I will try to figure out where we are."

Iris glanced around as she followed Altair through the town, partially in interest and partially to make sure nobody got too close to her and the baby.

Anna nodded, taking the knife and glancing around briefly. She still felt unsettled, and she waited for him to go look before she got up and went to find clothes.

And since they were right where she'd left them, she figured they were probably back in Renaissance.

One of the guards moved over to them, pausing when he saw Altair.

"Mentor," the guard greeted, dipping his head to Altair.

Altair nodded in reply. "She's with me," he said simply. The guard nodded and moved back to his post, letting them pass.

Iris stayed close to Altair, although she relaxed marginally. Clearly, people here knew Altair, so perhaps things would be easier. She shushed Amaya gently when the baby whimpered a little.

Inside, it didn't take long for word to spread that Altair was back.

"Welcome back, brother," Malik said when he caught up to Altair.

It didn't take Ezio long to realize that they were back in his own time, and he went to find Anna again. He knew exactly what they needed to do first.

"What do you say we stop by Leo's workshop, la mia dolce?" he said when he found her.

"Brother," Altair greeted, nodding to Malik. "I trust things have been normal while I was away?" Since he had no idea how long he'd been gone.

"Let's give my nerves another minute to settle first," Anna said with a little huff, settling into her old clothes easily. "I hate the Apple sometimes."

Malik nodded.

"Of course," he replied. "I doubt even the youngest apprentices could get into much trouble in the two days you were absent." He couldn't help but glance from Altair to the girl and infant behind him, but didn't say anything for the moment.

"I know," Ezio said. He went over and put an arm around her waist. "At least we are somewhere familiar."

Altair nodded, quickly hiding his shock. Two days? He'd only been gone two days in this time? He'd have to keep that in mind.

He did, however, notice Malik glancing back at his girls. "They're with me," he said evenly.

"True." Anna sighed, leaning back against him, slowly relaxing again. "So we're here. Where are Anna and Altair?"

"I see," Malik said, glancing at the girl and the infant one more time. He had a few questions, but now wasn't quite the right time for them. "In any case, Masyaf still runs smoothly."

"I am not sure," Ezio replied. "At the very least, they are not here in the hideout." He was quiet for a moment. "Perhaps only we were moved?"

Altair nodded and started walking again, heading for his rooms. "Thank you, Malik. I believe we will rest briefly before we discuss things." Because he needed a minute to figure out what exactly to tell them all.

Anna made a face at that and shifted. She did not like that thought. At all. Yes, she was with Ezio, but she was used to having Iris around too.

"Take your time," Malik replied. He raised an eyebrow slightly in question. "I'm sure there is space for your guest somewhere. I could go and check."

Ezio tightened his arm around her waist briefly. He knew how she felt about the situation.

"I am sure Iris will be fine," he said. "Altair will look after her and the baby."

"No need to concern yourself about that," Altair said. "I know where she's staying." Better than outright saying she would stay with him, and if Malik tried to question him now, he still had time to deflect questions until later.

Anna nodded but didn't say anything else. It just wasn't the same. After a moment she shook herself briefly and moved away, starting to look around again.

"Just give me a minute and then we can go see Leo."

Malik considered that for a moment before nodding. Now he was sure there was something he wasn't aware of, and he would make sure to ask his friend about it later on.

"Of course," Ezio replied. He gave her a small kiss. "I will meet you outside, then."

Altair nodded to him and led the way up to his rooms, leaving Malik down in the library.

"How are you doing?" he asked, shutting the door quietly behind them as he looked at Iris, concerned. He was comfortable because this was his home, but he had no idea how she was doing.

Anna nodded and spent a minute just getting reaquainted with the hideout and thinking things over. But when she joined Ezio again, she was calmer.

"It's so... different," Iris said as she tentatively stood in his room, holding Amaya. "I feel like I suddenly understand you a little better, and it kind of feels like I don't belong here."

"Feel a little better?" Ezio asked as they took to the rooftops. He made sure to keep to the lower ones, but it really was the easiest way to the workshop.

Altair snorted quietly. "I suppose so," he said quietly. "But you're wrong about not belonging. You'll get used to things here." He stretched briefly.

Anna nodded. "Yeah, a bit," she said quietly. She was quiet the rest of the way to Leo's workshop, dropping down to the ground easily and letting Ezio go first.

"How are you so sure about that?" Iris asked. She glanced down at the baby. "Amaya belongs. She's your daughter, of course she does. But I'm not so sure I do."

Ezio had no problems jumping back down to the ground and knocking on the door of the workshop.

"Leo?" he called as he opened the door.

Altair shrugged. "If you do not belong now, you will. I adapted to your time and your home. It is not so difficult."

"Ezio! Come in, come in!" Leo extricated himself from the middle of building something else, walking over to them and hugging Ezio. "I see you brought Anna again." He hugged her too.

Anna couldn't help but grin, relaxing a little. "Hi again Leo."

"What brings you here today?" Leo looked between the two.
