When Feliciano woke up he was jerked into reality. He got up slowly, untangling himself from Germany and then going into the kitchen. "Hello Japan." He said and the dark haired man looke up from his food to look at Italy. Something seemed weird about the Italian. When he'd come in last night he'd only seen him sleeping, so he was unaware of the torture or the additude change Otaly had gone through. He saw the boy grab an apple from the fridge and that made him frown. Wouldn't Italy normally get something sugary and unhealthy? Feliciano walked out of the door, apple in hand and started to work out. Japan left the room and went to find Germany. "Ludwig? Is something wrong with Italy?" He asked.

"Yes..." Ludwig sighed. "Something is wrong with Italy. I plan on fixing it though." He said, getting out of the bed.

Japan was so confused. "I don't understand? What happened to him?"

"He was tortured Japan... France was also trying to rape him..."

Japan wished he hadn't even asked. "I'm...sorry..." He felt bad for asking a question that had such a terrible answer. "How can you fix him?" he asked, not seeing a solution to the problem other than mental therapy.

Italy couldn't believe how weak he was. He couldn't lift the weights set on the bench press. He knew Germany could lift them, so he wanted to as well. He got them up about an inch before they came crashing down on his chest, pinning him to the bench. "Dang it.." He grumbled and tried to lift off the heavy object.

Germany turned as he heard metal clanging down the hall. "Be back.." he ran off to the work out room to see Italy under his weight bar. "Italy!" He went over quickly and picked the bar up. "If you wanted to train, you should've told me! you need a spotter!"

Italy had been turning red as the weight had slowly been crushing the air out of his lungs. He sucked in a much needed breath as Germany lifted it off of him. "Thank you." He said calmly. "I'm not sure what a spotter is, but ok, will you be mine?"

"A spotter is there in case the weight becomes too much, and I will gladly be yours." He set the bar back in it's holder. "You need to start with less weight... It took me years to get to this much weight on the bar..."

Italy now understood what was meant. "Ok." He looked at exactly how much weight had been on the bar and his eyes widened. "That weighs more than me and Romano combined!" He explained. "Does that mean you could lift us, one on each hand?" He asked, getting the mental picture of Germany lifting him and Romano like weights.

"I probably could... It would be interesting to see." He said, looking at Italy, hoping for a smile

He just nodded. "Maybe, though I don't think Romano would approve." He didn't get that Germany was joking.

Italy, that was a joke" Ludwig stated, sad that Italy didn't get it.

Italy's face remained the same emotionless expression. "Oh. Ok."

Ludwig frowned. "Sorry..."

He turned and looked at Ludwig funny. "Sorry for what? You didn't do anything wrong."

"I can't make you even chuckle..." He sighed. "So, I'm sorry"

Italy shook his head. "How is that your fault? Smilin is hard for me. I can't figure out how to be happy again."

"right... Italy, would you like to go out on a date tomorrow?"

"Yes, that would be nice." He said, the faintest trace of a smile forming in his eyes, but not on his mouth. That seemed like it might could possible make him happy, an he was looming forward to that.

"Good. I already have a plan formulating" He smiled softly at the Italian

Italy couldn't stand being even a few inches away from Germany. He started feeling clingy and moved over to wrap himself around the taller, stronger country.

Germany encircled Italy in his arms and held him close.

"I didn't think I was ever going to see you ok..." He said softly, and his voice cracked. "I'm glad you got me out of there. I don't want to live or die without you."

"You are never without me Italy. I'm always with you." He kissed Italy's forehead. "I promise"

Italy felt so tiny with Germany around him. He felt like a child and he was safe here. "I don't get it. How are you always with me?" He asked, completle innocence showing up in his eyes.
