She scratched the back of her head, "Ummm... I dunno... Let's see. Oh. That looks like a bit park." She pointed.

"Park? What are you five?" Pietro looked at her, then shrugged, "alright, lets go" he started hopping down from the bleachers.

She blushed, "Shut up. I'm trying at least. But I'm gonna need my roller blades from my locker."

"Oooo, good idea, that'll be fun" Pietro grinned, "Common!"

Soon enough Pietro was pulling her down the street at super speed while her roller blade spun like crazy.

"WOHOO!" She cheered, laughing all the way. "This is awesome!"

They ended up spending all period running around town and just goofing off, having fun in general.

Ciara couldn't remember having so much fun in such a short amount of time. "That was fun... Thanks Pietro."

"Hey, the only reason I was in class today was cuz I couldn't think of anything else I felt like doing" Pietro shrugged, "Thanks yourself."

"You really should pay more attention though. Don't you want to better yourself for your future career?" She asked.

"What career?" Pietro shrugged, "None of this interests me. Science, Math, Gym, whatever. None of this is going to help me with the real world. I know how to handle myself and that's all that matters."

Ciara paused, "Then why do you even bother?"

"Cuz Mystique's got my dad convinced she can make something of me here." Pietro flopped onto the grass, "and if there's one person I can't get away from, it's my dad. So fine, I'm here, let her try."

"Sounds like you two don't get along very well..." She sat down beside him, kicking her feet back and forth.

Pietro shrugged, "We're fine. He's just a little overbearing sometimes, y'know how dad's can be. At least he gives me my space at the Brotherhood."

"So are both your parents...mutants??" She asked, not sure how to really word the question

"Uhh... Not really sure actually" Pietro shrugged, "Don't know much about my mom. What about you?"

"Wish I knew..." She looked down at her shoes. "You know that big tide wave that did a lot of damn about 10 years ago?... They found me in wreak. Brought me to the institute..." She brought her knees to her chest, "Hank isn't even my real father... I'm adopted. And I have no memories before the institute...That place is my whole world. Cause I don't know where home really is for me."

"Woah... that's intense" Pietro blinked, "We need to get you out more."

Ciara laughed, "This coming from the boy who tripped me several times while I roller blade home from school."

Pietro shrugged, "You were with Summers, how could I risk not messing with you? It gets so damned annoying to always have the x-men kicking our asses, knowing that there's nothing they can do to retaliate out in public is kinda... refreshing."

"Yeah... Those x-men...Pietro, I kinda have a confession to make." She pointed her two index fingers together. She sighed, bring her knees to her chest. "I'm... not a mutant."

"... come again?" Pietro blinked, giving her an odd look.

She sighed, floping onto her back and covering her face with her arms. "Not a mutant. No powers... Normal. 100% non-super hero...Every mission. Every training session. Guess who gets left behind?" She pointed at herself. "Who hates when new people come to the institute and ask what her power is and make her feel like the freak for not having any?" She pointed at herself. "Who is the one who got picked on by mutant kids cause she was NORMAL?!" She pointed at herself, arms still covering her arms.

Pietro blinked again, "woah, woah, wait. Seriously?" he stared at her, "I thought the x-geeks were all goody-two-shoes, never judge one of their own, normy-loving freaks-no offence. Why the hell would they pick on you for that? And... whaaaat?"

"None taken. Children always seem to pick on those who are different from them. Whether they're super powered or not. I tried to tell you but I just couldn't bring myself to admit it.." She rubbed her arm. She really didn't like talking about how she was the only normal kid. It was almost too embarrassing and humiliating. The school warning bell rang. She stood up.

" That's the bell. Bye." She headed off without waiting for a reply. He probably would lose interest in her now that he knew the truth.
