Pietro watched her take off, he could have easily caught up to her but he let her go as he thought about it. Should he continue talking with her? Did it matter?

The next day the science teacher asked Ciara to hang around at the end of class.

"You wanted to see me?" Ciara asked after everyone else had left the classroom.

"Yes" he sat on the edge of his desk as he addressed her, "One of my students is having a lot of trouble passing this class-don't worry, it isn't you" he smiled, "but I already sat down to talk with him, he needs a Tudor and I was hoping you could help us out. You can count it towards extra credit, not that you need it but I could really use you if you're interested."

Ciara thought for a moment, "As long as I can work it around Swim team, I'd love to help."

"Excellent!" he smiled, "and lucky to, Pietro can be a bit... difficult sometimes but I'm confident you'll be able to manage."

Ciara froze, her eyes widening slightly. "Pie-Pietro?" She asked. Great. The guy she liked who probably would NEVER talk to her again because she wasn't a mutant, was now the kid she had to tutor. "I..I'll try." She rubbed the back of her head. Great. What had she gotten herself into this time?

"That's not a problem is it?" the teacher asked, noting her reaction, "You two seem to get along well enough in class..."

"No. It shouldn't. Stuff has come up... You know, Teenager drama." She rubbed the back of her head. "I'll do my best."

"You let me know the instant there's any trouble" he reassured her, "and I'll put him place."

"Alright. I will." She smiled lightly.

Ciara took a deep breath and looked at her watch. 5 mins past... He was suppose to be here already. Though he probably didn't know it was her... They hadn't talked since she'd exposed the truth. Which was fine... no not fine but it couldn't be helped. People tend to stick to similar people... And they weren't similar.

There was a sound of wind outside the door and then it opened and Pietro strolled into the room, already looking bored. He caught sight of Ciara and raised a brow, "yo."

Ciara shifted, "Hi...Well, you might as well sit down so we can get started."

"Why?" Pietro shrugged, hopping up to sit on one of the tables, "The only reason I'm here is so I don't get another suspension."

Ciara bit her lip, "And you'll probably be heading for one if you don't try harder in class. Now come over here so I can figure out where I need to start teaching you." She really didn't want to be here anymore. Pietro was acting like a jerk which meant he had chosen to judge her cause she was normal...

"What's the point?" Pietro argued, "Doesn't matter what you do or say, it's not going to make any of this science crap worth my time. When am I ever gonna use this? Who cares what an atom's made up of? That doesn't put food on the table or keep you warm at night. It's bullshit and I got other stuff to do" he wasn't even looking at her, his gaze was out the window and clearly there were a million other things on his mind. After a moment he finally looked at her, "If you really wanna help me, then you can do my homework to keep me from failing so I can be done with this class."

Ciara's eye twitched and she stood up, "Actually it does put food on the table and keep you warm at night. By learning these things, you can become smarter and get a good job when you're out of school. You may not get a job in the science field but by applying yourself and doing your best, you're giving yourself good habits and trades that will help you in the future. What if you need to figure out the right angle to throw a ball at the wall so it bounces off and onto a button that stops a nuclear reactor? What if you're trapped behind a river of acid because you didn't know that chocolate could have plugged up the hole in the first place?! And fire is caused by a chemical reaction so Science can and does keep people warm at night. And Agriculture keeps food on the table." She started angrily putting her stuff back in her bag. She'd placed everything all neat on the table... even brought two orange juice boxes to share.

"But apparently you'd rather fail, get in trouble and not improve your chances in the real world." She had her back turned, "And here I was going to suggest we move our study group to that hamburger place but apparently someone doesn't like the idea of milkshakes and hamburgers and fries..." She didn't look at him as she marched out the door.

Pietro zipped in front of her, blocking the exit, "Woah! Geeze, okay, okay, you convinced me. Just chill... what's angry-culture?"

Ciara huffed lightly before smiling, " Ag·ri·cul·ture. It's the cultivation of animals, plants, fungi for food, fiber, bio-fuel and other products used to sustain life... Aka. Farming. It was the key development in the rise of sedentary civilization.. By farming domesticated species and using their food surpluses, people didn't have to hunt and gather food as much... It dates back thousands of years and it's development has developed different throughout the world by climates, cultures and technologies. The most famous and common form was irrigation which was a method used in dry land farming. In Egypt they used this by drawing water from the Nile to grow.." She paused, realizing she was rambling on. "Oh, um... sorry." She blushed.

Pietro's eyes started glazing over after the first sentence, "uh-huh... I'm sorry I asked." he mumbled, although still quite audible. "Can we go back to the part where we grab some food? You're buying right?"

She grinned,"Of course. Provided you try you're best to study while we study. I figured you're probably hungery anyways. What with you being a speedster and all. You must burn a lot of calories." Shd smiled, leading the way. "Think you can zoom us over there?" She asked holding her hand out.

"Uh... yeah, sure." Pietro took her hand, "you might wanna hold your breath though. Apparently some people find it hard to breathe when they're going that fast."

"Um sure." She said taking a deep breath.

Pietro proceeded to pick her up in a flash and in a few moments they were around the corner from the burger joint.

Ciara was not expecting him to pick her up. She tensed up, blushed and only relaxed when he put her down. "Ah. Great. Shall we go?" She asked, leading the way.

Pietro nodded and followed her into the place, instantly ordering three double-decker burgers, a side of large onion rings and fries, a coke and a milkshake for himself.
