"No, what I have is not contagious, nor is it fixable." he replied, "My name's Horatio by the way, what's yours?"

"Princess Ciara McHale. Pleased to meet you, Hor-Hora-Horatio." She curtsied, trying to pronounce his name. " My Daddy says there's no problem that can't be solved, you just don't have the resources yet..."

Horatio smiled, "It is impossible, I have checked. If I fix my condition, I will die. That is the case with every scenario."

"You'll die? That's so sad... Every scenario? Oh! My Daddy talks about stuff like that." She splashed in the water, "He can see everything all at once. All throughout time. Or something like that..."

Horatio perked up a little, "he... he can? All at once? He doesn't have to visit or anything?"

"Nope. All you have to do is tell him a person and you can see all the possible roads they could take." She said trying to figure out how to word it. "He has this HUGE computer he types everything into cause it's so much to take. Daddy says when I'm older I can have computer glasses too... AH! I got a froggy." She cheered holding up the small ball of water with a little purple guy inside.

"What does it look like?" Horatio asked.

"Huh? Well, it's a deep purple with green spots. Daddy says they use to be green but science made it so that the oil from our skin doesn't hurt them.. Here, hold him." She said placing the frog in his hands and just as she did, a little light went off. She gasped. "YOU CAN'T SEE?! Is that why you're eyes look like that?"

Horatio startled a little at the feel of the frog but he held him carefully so he wouldn't fall, "I... wow, it's really slimy. No, I can't see, and I was actually asking about the computer... heh. It sounds really interesting"

"Oh, well... It looks like a pair of glasses but there's a lot of see through flowing screens and I'm sorry. I didn't realize you couldn't see... I just thought your eyes were suppose to look like that."

"They are supposed to look like this" Horatio replied, "It's a natural pigmentation of the cornea. Well, natural by mutant standards. I'm told that they change when I use my ability."

"Do they get prettier when you use your powers?" She asked before taking his hand as the Purple had climbed onto his shoulder, "Here, see my face." She said placing his hand on her cheek.

"I am not really sure they are 'pretty' at all." Horatio replied, touching her cheek lightly and gliding his fingers across her skin, "Beauty is not exactly something I know well. A lot of books describe meadows and mountains and flowers as being beautiful, are my eyes similar to those things?"

Ciara giggled, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" She quoted before running her finger around his eyebrow and eye. "But I think they're pretty. Daddy says people didn't use to be so different from each other. But now people have scales, feathers or glow! Plus your hair has red in it. Like my hair! And everyone says they love my hair so you must be pretty too." She grinned happily.

Horatio smiled, "I see" he replied, "or rather, I understand. So then Princess Ciara McCoy. What is it you wish to do now?"

"Hmmm..." She thought, removing the froggy from his shoulder and back into the water. "See-saw and swings?" She asked.

"If I cannot see, how can I saw?" Horatio quipped with a smile.

Ciara paused before laughing. "No no silly. There's no sawing." She took his hand, "Come on, I'll show you."

Horatio followed her around the playground, spending a good few hours together before a tall pale mutant came over. "Ciara" Mr. Sinister called, "Your father asked me to pick you up today. It's time to go"

Ciara has had a blast with the boy. Running around, playing games, drinking juice together. He even started to read his book to her. "Awwww. But Nate, I'm still playing. Can't I stay a little bit longer? Horatio just got to the best part of the book!"

"I'm afraid not Ciara" Sinister replied, "We have to leave. Now." he held out his hand to take hers.

Horatio shifted uncomfortably, he leaned over to whisper to Ciara, "is this guy okay? Something doesn't sound right..."

Ciara pouted and looked at Horatio, "It's ok, Nate works with my Daddy and has helped me a lot. He's just grumpy a lot." She whispered back. "I had fun today, Horatio." She kissed his cheek. "You're my new friend! Will you be here tomorrow?" She asked, getting down from the bench.

"I will if you will" Horatio replied.

"Now Ciara" Sinister urged.

Ciara flinched at his tone. "Ok ok. I'll come again tomorrow Horatio! My daddy will be so happy I made a friend. Oh! Maybe you can even come over for dinner tomorrow." She floated up and hugged him tightly. "Bye Bye Horatio. We'll play again tomorrow!"

She took Nate's hand and as they left she continued to wave. "Bye Bye!"

And she was never heard from again.... DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUHHHH
