I think what throws a lot of people off is that they look at the thread tittle for updates instead of reading the whole front page. I don't think there is really anything you guys can do about that. There was a good 3 or 4 days in this challenge that wasn't affected by the event at all. It's just the thread tittle wasn't updated at the same time as the challenge being put up.

What's the point of due dates if you guys are just going to push it back so friends can enter?

I think it's my fault a bit for not reading thoroughly! The first page isn't all updated so I just assumed it hadn't started yet because I failed to read properly.

Post one talks about the previous challenge (Apocalyptic). Then it has the Apply Now link so I thought they might have still been takin' applications. Then my moron self decided to read post two and went "HODANGMOMMA" (also when I got the ping).

I think the best thing is a ping to say the challenge has started. Going over the PM I got when the applications were done I now see that it says the start date and again it goes back to me not reading it properly.

Now that being said between Wednesday and this Sunday my life full of some rather personal harsh happenstances so I do apologize for not paying better attention ^^;;

I think the ping idea is going to be the best bet. "Yo losers next round is up now!" and then maybe a 24 hour "hey get your entries in". Life does get in the way and most of us are doing this for fun so we sometimes forget.

That being said, I've never participated in this contest and I knew my life was hectic before agreeing to apply so I'm definitely not the best for suggestions 8D!

In the end, I am overly appreciative for the extension ^^;;

We'll probably start doing pings then, though we are going to make it an effort to change the title and update the announcement section more frequently.

You know what Su's avatar reminds me of? There are too many horns, but it reminds me of a minotaur. I don't know if that was the intended idea, but I can't stop thinking about it.

@ seiki - I didn't really have a set creature that I was creating. I did make a Minotaur a few Avis back, though. This one I just wanted to create something around this face.
