xD I could have used that earlier today... I've been kicking myself since the challenge was announced and even started building one based off of the Parsee/Parsi superstition of seeing a light/fire which accompanied a corpse as it was being carried or left on the side of a road AKA I was totally desperate and had just completed a wild hour and a half of Google searching which ultimately landed me on a quote from an anthropological guide to cultures who practice Zoroastrianism.

I remembered earlier today that I had a run in with a lady bug on Saturday which... yeah.


I'm not 100% on this one just yet... if anyone has any suggestions I would absolutely love to hear them :\

Lady bugs always make me think of the rhyme of how the ladybugs house is on fire...We use to say it as a kid when we found a ladybug.

I still resent my infraction. When I first took over Project Mene, there was no mule for the contest so I basically made a carbon copy of the thread that Donna had made for the contest and got in trouble because I didn't quote rules and stuff like that. I was so mad because it's not like I was copying the stuff for the intention of getting gold, but I basically went through and rewrote every single little thing down to word changes in the rules for something that was completely unnecessary. I would have just given up the gold if it was that big of an issue, but I didn't think it was as I was taking over a contest using my personal account since I couldn't use Donna's. But whatever. It was five and a half years ago.

I was a little resentful to the staff during 2008, but that's a whole other story that I'm not going to get in to : (

Mythos, I like the adjustments you have on your current avi—the dress particularly looks more refined. In the avi you posted, I like that you are holding a ladybug, and I love the derpy smile and eyes. That combo is what clued me in to what you were making.

Perhaps you could add some wings? The clear fairy wings from the At the Bottom of the Garden CI might work well.

Its not like this anymore, thankfully. Now you'd have gotten a "Please fix this and don't do it again and you're seriously not in trouble we just don't want you to be in trouble" warning and everything would be honky dory.

Here is my work in progress for this round.
Sticking with my historical theme of last round, I have created a sybil. (it is where j.k. rowling got her inspiration for the name sybil trelawney)
Sybils were the female soothsayers/prophets of Greece.
Here is my interpretation of a sybil in midst of prophecy, surrounding her are the different omens she sees.


here is my reference image (this time it is only for inspiration, because there is no specific 'image' or 'uniform' for a sybil)

I think you chose the accessories well, and I hope your description says why you choose those. If you're trying to stick close to the inspiration, you might want to try finding a headwrap of some sort? And... I guess there aren't any scroll items-- oh! Yes, there's a scrolly looking map in Where's the Rum that you might consider? It might require losing the candle or the arrow, though.

The biggest criticism I have is that the whole piece is going to require an explanation. Not because it's not well done, but because the modern mind isn't designed to look at that and say 'Sibyl'. That said, I think mine from the first round got most of its points from the description.

Well my last round one kinda didnt, but I didn't pretty well with it. And I dont wanna add a scroll because I was only using it as a guide as there is no singular image of a sybil just different interpretations, so I've made my own using a diadem which is a soothsayer item as it is. I hope it just kinda says profit and with further reading 'sybil'.

Like I said, I'm over it. They should have looked at the entire situation though and understood what was happening and given me a verbal (PM) warning rather than a written one.

Yeah. Now we actually look at those old infractions and face-palm. For most of them they've long expired and were over something so dumb that we're so very happy that we've loosened up. So say if you did another instance of non-quoting we would basically go back to square one and just say, Hey if you could put that in quotes that would be great!
And most of those older mods are elsewhere now. Either left or moved into a different staff position. So now it's a bunch of cool beans. and me. :P

Nah, I'm the odd ball. Former trouble maker turned staff. Although I didn't cause much trouble for Mene.

I just think the worst thing about the infractions is that it can lead to you being banned. I've known users to be banned over infractions, and that happened because they were so tight up on the rules before. I have a good memory, so I can generally remember all the weird rules, but some users have poor memories and forget the little things.

I got an infraction for failing to quote something when I was still in the first year or so on the site. I didn't even know - because they asked questions and I answered them. But I didn't put the questions in quote because they weren't coded. Anyway - that was infraction made me almost quit...glad I came back XD

Yup. When I got my infraction it upset me quite a bit. :<
But I had enjoyed talking and was gifted many items, so I knew I had a good start here and stayed. I joined during the winter event and had made a bunch of friends, so I felt it was worth it. I imagine if I were busier with my life and that happened, though, that I would have just quit and went off to another new site.

Does anyone else have some avi feedback for me?
