She shook her head, "You have a lot to learn about magic. Humans are limited creatures. Only some are born able to use magic. This human body is not capable of using it. Another reason I miss being a Gryphon." She looked up at the open blue sky, feeling the gentle breeze brushing at her smooth face.

"Then I will find away to return you to that form." He says. And he will even though he will miss having human companionship. "Are you hungry?" He asks.

She thought about that a moment, then nodded. "I guess I am. Are you wanting anything in particular to eat?"

"There is deer and fruit." He says. "I am not hungry at the moment. I am going to see what I can make of the orb." He says kissing her cheek. "Just promise me you won't wander off without me."

She grinned, "I promise." Watching him head off to experiment with the orb, she turned and went to get some fruit. Taking it with her to the lake's edge, she settled down and stared thoughtfully at the water. Who knew that way down there, under that large lake, was a network of corridors and chambers?

Kirin spends several hours with the orb, nothing happening. Frustrated he leaves it aside and gets himself some food as well. He goes and joins Larissa by the lake. He still has the orb with him.

She watched him walk up and sit down. He had a sort of weary or frustrated look to him. Feeling somewhat responsible for his state of mind, she scooted up beside him and leaned her head against him shoulder. "You doing okay?"

"Yeah, the orb is just proving hard to crack." He says kissing the top of her head. He chews on the piece of deer he had gotten himself. "But I will figure it out. I just get this feeling that it will be able to reverse the spells that were put on you."

She suggested, "Well, use some of the abilities you have and see if you can either enhance them with power from the orb or use the orb to create a new skill."

"Hmm, I hadn't thought about that." He says. "What would I do without you." He says kissing Larissa's cheek.

She playfully rolled her eyes, "Still be in the valley missing the great views up here."

"Nah I'd most likely be dead." He says shuddering as he remembers the evil mage who had captured them..cf

She became somber. That was right. It wasn't just a matter of avoiding the villagers when they were mad. The blood mage was also a factor. She glanced at him, "Thank you for not fighting me when I carried you off."

"I figured whatever was going to happen was better then the alternative." He says with a smile. He nuzzles her neck a bit.

She looked down at the pretty glowing orb. She reached a finger out to touch it. As her finger pressed against the cool smooth surface, the flowing increased. She felt her eyes become entranced by light as the glowing blue from the orb filled her vision so that her eyes also glowed. A part of her mind screamed that her human body couldn't handle this, that she had to let go. Yet it was her body, not her mind, that was in control. She felt the tingles of magic caressing her finger and reaching up her hand. The familiar sense of being aware of the strands that flowed around them all the time, but that she had no longer been able to see or feel since becoming human.

Kirin gasps as the orb reacts to Larissa's touch. At first he is worried and thinks of pulling the orb away from her. But he resists that urge. He hopes that maybe this will be what gives her her true form back. He just watches, if anything bad starts to happen, he will get the orb away from her.

Larissa slowly looses the ability to control her hand, her arm, her shoulder as it spread up her. It continued to seep into her while flickering around her. She could feel in touch her brain, then all thought was gone as well. A mere creature that was a vassal for the incredible power filling her, the areas that it had reached seemed to be pulsating in the blue glow.

Kirin starts panicking and starts to pull the orb away. He stops though. It could hurt her. "LARIISSA!" He cries out.

The orb snakes a glowing strand around Kirin's hand, anchoring the three of them together. The glowing seems to erupt up and around the rest of Larissa's non-responsive body. Where her head now lay motionless against Kirin's shoulder, tendrils of glowing blue start reaching out and wrapping around his shoulders and chest. Larissa's eyes flicker for a moment, then go back to their trance state.

Kirin gasps as the tendril wraps itself around him. "Love?" He is very worried about her. He should have pulled away sooner. If anything happened to her he would never forgive himself. He kisses the top of her head shaking a bit.

The orb sends out blue lightening that crackles and booms loud thunder in all directions around Larissa. Finding no one else nearby, the blue orb increases it's intensity and literally melts into a liquid, flowing into Larissa's finger but ignoring Kirin beyond simply keeping him bound. Larissa still leans against Kirin, unaware of anything outside of her. Inside is another story.

It is simply her consciousness and this blue magic. It expands and fills her, taking away her breath and ability to think. It keeps filling her until she feels like she will burst. Then it reached her heart. Surrounding it, circling it, and then her heart stopped. She felt her skin start to strain under the tension. The magic was too much and too powerful for containment. She could also tell it had some sort of mission and had chosen her as it's vassal. She wasn't suited for it though. A tiny part of her managed to mentally think, Reduced to this human body, I can't work with magic. It will kill me. The glowing blue power paused at that, then her thoughts were ended again.

It went deeper, into her DNA and took over it. Her entire body turned to energy. She felt herself lift up a little, not much, just enough so that she wasn't touching Kirin even though they were still anchored together. Then in mind-blowing pain, her body shattered. The skin tore and flew in all directions. Her scream was cut in half as she became separated, nothing. Just a big blue ball of pulsating energy full of power. Everything outside that was pitch black as night. Only the ground below and Kirin beside could be seen.

Kirin cries out. "Larissa!" He wishes now that he had pulled the orb away. When it gets dark it Kirin gasps. He wonders what's going to happen to them. "Larissa!" He calls again.

The large ball of energy expands, shifts, and expands again. The pulsing blue light is almost blinding. Slowly the form of a wing is created, then expands out knocking Kirin over onto his back. Then another wing is form. Then the blue glow solidifies into a creature. A large glowing griffon stands on the edge of that lake, it's glow brighter than the sun. Yet the light is such that is doesn't hurt the eyes. Then the glow fades to a pulsating ray of blue, that slowly filters out of Larissa's closed eyelids. As it releases it's absolute control over her, she lands on the ground in a thump of dust. The scenery again becomes normal, though the sun seems somewhat dim.

Kirin lets out an oomph as he's knocked over. What was happening? "Larissa?" He calls out as the blue light fades. He sits up slowly. "Larissa?" He calls again. He hasn't seen the gryphon by the lake yet. Worry fills his voice. What has he let happened. "Larissa?!"

Larissa lay in a heap beside him. The energy taken from her for the transformation left her exhausted. Despite this exhaustion, she was still awake. A bit hard not to be when she could feel another energy source within her, sustaining her. She groaned out in her gryphon voice, "Oh be quiet and let a girl sleep." She gave Kirin a thump with her wing.
