Does anyone else ever have dreams in which you're a completely different person, or a fictional character?

It happens to me pretty often, actually. Just last night, I had a dream that I was Armand from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, and I was in Venice with Lestat and Claudia. Then there was a huge explosion on the bridge we were on, and after we managed to escape, I couldn't find the hotel we were staying at again... but that's beside the point. xD

I'm pretty sure I also dreamt that I was Harry Potter once, a really long time ago. And it's happened several other times, but I don't remember who I was at the moment. I think I may have been Lestat in one dream, too, actually... I don't know why it's almost always the Anne Rice characters.

So has anyone else ever had a dream like this? If so, who were you, and what happened in it?

I was in the same boat. I dreamed that I was in the world of Harry Potter and Hogwarts. Anne Rice's books can be quite vivid. I say let your imagination flow whichever way it wants to! ;)

spunky3: Oddly enough, I don't think I was ever actually inside Hogwarts. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun though. xD

I actually did have one once where all of the Hogwarts professors were reciting poetry, though. o.o

Hi Mika. That sounds so funny. I wish I had a dream like that. I just vividly remember seeing long corridors and students walking by.

Haha. I like the dreams where you bump into people you've never seen or met before. I get frustrated when I wake up knowing I had an interesting dream and then immediately forget the conversations I had. Anybody else in the same boat? :O

I sometimes look up in the dream dictionary to find out if there is some subliminal message behind what just happened.

I have a dream book but I find just thinking about what the dream means to you and talking it over witha friend really helps. I had this dream about this storm and I think it was to do with riding out my exams and coursework pressures because i will havea goodtime afterwards and no matter what happens im still going to university there si no need to panic so much. :) I think my brain needed reminding of that.

I have a dream dictionary, but most of the supposed meanings in it just seem kind of ridiculous to me. My friends and I do amuse ourselves by reading out of it sometimes, though...

I think a lot of the time, what's more significant is what the symbols in the dream mean to you, personally. Usually it seems you get a better interpretation just thinking about it yourself instead of trying to find some "official" meaning behind it from some other source, really.

Yeah I absolutely agree. I talk about my dreams with my friends and it gives me a clearer picture. Like the other day we spoke about how if you see something missing in your dreams then it means that you are wary of it in real life.

I have really weird dreams when I'm no myself...One time I dreamed that I was in a different house and I thought I was myself but I wasn't... >.> and then "my" dad was coughing really bad and he died soon after. Then one of my friends dad died of lung cancer a week later....It's just really weird. Oh and then I had a dream that I almost got raped, (this was soon after I watched the Lovely Bones and it looked like the same guy o.O) and I woke up right when he grabbed my arms. Then my high school Driver's Ed teacher was caught with a 17 year old...it was really creepy

Ah, I had this dream where I gave this guy my number, because I was bored and he said he'd text me. I always want more people to text me! XD So yea, t'was weird. I saw his number, but I don't remember it. I wish I did, just to see if the dude was an actual person y'kno? I've had dreams where I was in Hogwarts as a student, I've been a boy in my dreams before... so many damn dreams.

I don't like most dream dictionaries. They're so stupid! D: I don't see the point in reading something that's not even accurate... xD Except to laugh. I read the book before I buy it, actually. o: Even if it's a lame dream dictionary.

I often have adventurous dreams.. like zombies, or me running (as someone else) from people with my besty and etc etc. I had a dream of my boyfriend cuddling me the other night It was the cutest little thing EVER. I friggin' adore and hate that dream. :"D

I do quite a lot actually! When I napped today I dreamed that I was someone else. I was Harry Potter and I was a gang member setting up a drug deal with my crew, but there was an undercover police officer amongst them and I had to find out who was who.

I completely forgot about this when I made this thread, but one time I dreamt that I was an eighty-year-old Russian man with three wives who was helping Martin Luther King Jr. end racism.

Telling people about that dream is always kind of fun.

I often dream that I'm someone else, it's really fun. :) I'd be all 'in-character' and whatnot too. xD (with an occasional OOC...and neither IC nor OOC had to be intentional on my part, it was just natural while in the dream) The other person can be either from a series or just a completely random person that's just not me.

I dream I am someone else often, or with someone else as that person. It's called a fantasy. Not always sexual, either.

I wasn't a known character from an existing story in the dream I'm currently thinking of. But I remember distinctly that in the dream I was a princess named Arina and I had a brother named Travis. However we didn't realise we were actually blood related siblings because our parents had adopted the two of us at separate times. Even our parents didn't realise we were blood related until a DNA test was conducted when someone noticed the similarities in our features. And this shattered Travis's hopes of being with me as more than siblings because apparently he was in love with Arina.

Pretty weird and random, I know.
