Letting out a little hum at the dolls words, Myro paused. He didn't think she was as happy as she was trying to sound, but that was something he could understand. He certainly always acted the happy part. And here was as good a moment to lay the happy on thick. After all, if he pretended things were alright, it was almost like they were.

"My family? Oh they haven't been around for years. I never had any siblings or anything of that sort, though I would have loved one. I always wanted a younger sister you see, but things just aren't meant to be sometimes. My parents left for big city and that was that." He paused in his cheerful banter and finally just said the rest simply. "The train they were on derailed."

She was all ready to ask him how his parents were doing when Myro dropped his bombshell. Her amethyst eyes widened and her mouth fell open into a small 'o' of surprise. Sympathetically the doll reached out to place her hand on his arm but stopped remembering the way he'd shivered. Of course, no one would want a creepy moving doll to touch them.

"How long ago?" Her mind wandered about frantically to try and find a way to help him, but in the end Fealty simply let the matter drop. All she could do was offer him her support, as a friend. "Grief does dull with time, but it never goes away. I will say this. It's much better to forget about the bad times, and remember the good." With the thoughts she remembered her creator and all he'd gone trough to teach her newly born spirit. He'd been like a father to her, and she a daughter of glass.

"It happened almost two years ago," Myro said quietly. He was silent for a second before before letting out a smile. "This is depressing to talk about. I may seem only a child, I know. I know not to dwell on those sorts of things." Or in his case, push the pain down and pretend it wasn't there at all. It was the benefit of always acting like a happy child. He tilted his head at Fealty, noticing her cut off gesture. On instinct, he reached out and patted her hand. "You are so very kind."

She thought there was much more to speak of about this subject, but she let it fall. A tiny smile lifted her lips at his gesture, warming Fealty's heart. "How old are you?" wondered the doll aloud. He seemed so very young to her, then again even the most elderly of people seemed so to her. The only ones who matched her age weren't human, and didn't show their faces in regular society very often at all.

Myro's brow furrowed slightly. "I'm nineteen. Why? Ah...I must seem like such a child to you!" But then, he barely had a foot out the door of childhood in normal people's eyes. "But I don't act my age much do I?" he continued to ramble.

A little laugh escaped the doll's lips, sounding like a stream flowing freely. Oh how good it felt to laugh again! "Everyone seems like a child to me. It's nothing new Myro." Feeling better about herself now, Fealty moved to place a hand upon the young man's arm in the only way she knew how, with gentle care. "You're acting like yourself, which is all you can do."

This time Myro was completely comfortable with Fealty's cold hand on his arm. Maybe her skin was cold, but the gesture was definitely a warm one. He couldn't help the light chuckle that slipped from his lips. "You have a very pretty laugh," he said impulsively. "You should laugh more. Believe me, its more fun to smile and laugh all the time! I guess it is best to act me since I'm pretty sure I like me. Isn't that the best...liking yourself I mean?"

Once more his words made Fealty blush. This was so very unusual! "Yes it is, but ... You see I've lived trough much more then you have. Maybe when I was younger laughing like this would have been easier but now, laughter seems so hard to come by." As for liking herself, Fealty didn't dare get onto that subject. She always avoided thinking of that, for many various reasons. If only she could find some way of avoiding the conversation entirely!

Myro rolled to his feet and did a little twirl, arms stretched out at his sides. "Maybe so, but I'll have you laughing freely in no time!" he exclaimed like it was his new found mission. He looked down at the doll, goofy smile on his face. "Don't I make it easier to laugh?"

She could have blushed, if she'd been able to. Or maybe Fealty already was and she didn't know it. "Yes, you do." But there seemed to be a lack of things to do all of a sudden. That wasn't Myro's fault though. Fealty moved uncertainly, offering up a hesitant smile of her own. This was just such a new kind of situation for the doll. A rare thing indeed.

Myro sat for a minute in silence, a feat in itself. He should have been noticing just how quiet it had become, but instead, it wasn't totally quiet. There was a shuffling followed by a rhythmic thump thump coming from upstairs. Oddly enough, the sound was a bit like limping footsteps. Myro tilted his head up, brows furrowing in confusion. "Do you hear that odd sound?" he asked.

She titled her head to the side and nodded. That had come from nowhere, but then again they had been rather absorbed in their conversation. Fealty moved to the doorway and peered outside the room curiously. This house was just so big, things might start making sounds all on their own regularly here. It did happen sometimes, in her experience.

Myro shook his head and poked it out the door. "How curious. I think someone else is here. But I swear the sound is coming from the library upstairs!" he said shaking his head again. Myro not being one to read and the only one with a key to the room now that his parents were gone, it just seemed a little odd. It also seemed odd the that room needed a key. But there was still the possibility that some maid was diligently working despite the lack of maids lately and maybe she had gotten into the library. It wasn't impossible.

"Hello?" Myro called as loudly as he could. He got no answer.

The doll shook her head and sighed. Yes she'd head, but there was nothing good going to come of this. Gently moving she went to stand by the doorway, to wait. "Maybe we should go check?" He would have to carry her of course in case a person was there. Animals tended to avoid Fealty as well, to her disappointment. Though fish didn't seem to mind. They'd no choice in the matter anyway.

"I think we shall," Myro said before bending down to carefully pick up Fealty. Looking around suspiciously as if the shadows of the house had fangs, he started down a hall and then another until he came to a dark velvet covered staircase. He swallowed nervously. "Well, let's just hope no one of the shady sort is up here." He didn't think he succeeded in making his voice sound all that brave, though he did try. There was no use in hesitating any longer though, so he started up the stairs.
