They better not have meant it... school is important... that's how we get out doctors, nurses, engineers, dentists, counselors, and much more.

I didn't get a job in the education I went into, but it sure made me smarter. It's never pointless.

Some people are ignorant for lack of a better word and I have noticed that more and more it seems, people in general don't care about anything beyond themselves.

Thanks for reminding me it wasn't pointless. It wasn't. I learned a lot and gained skills when I taught in S. Korea.

Yeah, ignorant... or just complacent :(

While that may be true, there are also people who care about anyone but themselves as well.
I guess nature is trying to "compensate" for the greed a bit?

Well nature likes balance... would also explain the huge IQ gap lately too... as people get dumber we are finding people who are getting even smarter

Well the reason differs vastly from person to person, but I think the biggest thing is "blind faith". Since our society has pretty much stopped caring what the government does as long as we benefit. Makes for a very lazy species.
I mean, look at a zoo. Same effect, the animals get lazy.

Lazy doesn't promote brain activity and thus causes reduced learning.

true that... leads to complacency.

just like the world media and how they are treating the massacre in Venezuela last night. It isn't in the news yet people are blogging about it... how paramilitary when around shooting civilians in the streets and out on their lawns... so many dead people innocent of any crime except living in that country. The reason... they might be protesters. It is horrible!

Yes. I think sometimes if all of humanity took even just an hour a day to think of someone besides themselves and do something for someone around them, just because, before long a lot of the problems of society would begin to fall away as we started looking out for our fellow man more and more. It would become a habit, a way of life. Some of us already do that, and think more of others than ourselves, ESPECIALLY MAIDEN! But could you imagine if every person did that?!

I spend 6-11 hours a day focusing on someone other than myself. I worked as a caretaker, so focusing on them is priority.
Then I come home and I focus on all of yall.

Well I wasn't speaking about you Poet. I know there are people out there, including you and Mai, that focus on and think of others. I guess sometimes I just a little cynical about people sometimes. I see our nation in such a hurry to get where ever that they can't even drive the speed limit. It seems, sometimes, like everywhere I look people are so busy rushing and worrying and getting so caught up in living their lives that they forget about those around them.

Speaking of others... Silver... I'm guessing that now that things are patched between Chad and me, he's happy?

Glad you get/got a break from babysitting. I haven't talked to Chad much since your visit. Right now I am usually so exhausted by the time my work week is over on Friday that I end up just staying home and sleeping, instead of church.
