I'm sadly always seeing the fault... but a list would be good. Thanks for the idea.

Well if all you see is faults, maybe that's because you're not clear on what you want ^^

I think I am not compassionate enough. Not willing to admit that people are human... If I was more happy with myself and my own life then I would be more accepting of others. Which is why the advice to be happy with yourself before dating hit home for me so hard.

I think you are a compassionate person maiden, but there is something to being happy with yourself and your faults.

I'm not as compassionate as I should be... and I really should love myself more before I get into a relationship. At least I am not as bad as I was my last year at college.

I'd say Maiden is compassionate... but we can ALL be a bit more compassionate.
Perhaps when you get home, find an animal at a shelter and bring it into your life. Find the animal there that you connect with and show it compassion. Give it a good life. An animal will show you how you are. If you aren't compassionate enough the animal will be more distant. So the more love the animal gives you, the more compassionate you are.

The reason I say to pick an animal that connects with you though is because many animals are different. Some animals want certain things out of an owner.

I would love to have a pet companion. That is one thing I am looking forward to moving back home for. Being told I couldn't here sucked.

That would suck. I keep having people tell me to grow up and that horses are just a rich man's thing. They don't realize that that is my stress reliever and what keeps me sane.

Yeah they are amazing animals and I have such a bond with my horse. I don't want to lose that.

My grandpa's horse, I believe he is lame now, but that horse was a really nice horse. Friendly with kids and competitive in racing with his owner.

Horses are amazing companions to have. Just have to make sure your love for them is stronger than your attachment to them.

Love stronger than attachment? Is there a difference?

Yes. A parent who loves her child enough to let go when he decides to go to war. A boyfriend who loves his girlfriend enough to let her move overseas to chase a dream of hers for a year. A horse owner who loves his horse enough that when he can no longer provide all the care that horse should have, to find the horse a new loving home. A drug addict who loves her baby so much that she puts him in foster care so that he won't get stuck in her lifestyle even though it is tearing out her heart to be parted from him.

I see. I would see the proper path of the drug addict would be to attempt to quit in order to give the child a better life with it's parent. not easy no... but neither is the chance of waiting much of their life for adoption.
