(oh that's it give a mostly blind little girl books I'm sure she'll love that XD )

"Yeah it has been bothering her recently... along with her other eye now too... Mom thinks she might be starting to loose sight in the other eye now." Vixen sighed worriedly before watching Usha and Cresil. "I would have never thought with the way that Cresil used to treat me that he would love our daughter so much." she smiled

"Oh thank you! I've been having a great birthday so far!" Mela smiled before hugging Usha then Cresil and giggling when they kissed her head.

(-dies- I'm sorry! I kinda forgot! Dx Just forget the books were ever there! lol)

"Why would she be going blind though?" he asked and sighed. "It doesn't make any sense." he added and looked over at his parents and Mela. "I'm surprised too...they're giving her all the love they could never give your or me." he answered and shrugged.

Cresil smiled and ruffled her hair before Usha fixed it lovingly. "We're glad you're having a great birthday dearest." said Cresil. Usha nodded, "You only deserve the best sweetheart." she commented and smiled.

"Well originally she was blind in one eye from our father trying to kill her but then I guess she got an infection it in that is now spreading to the other eye... or at least that's what the doctor thinks." Vixen explained softly then smiled as Vivian came in with Nixy who was wearing a type of sun glasses as she had been recently to keep her eye from hurting from the sun and other lights. She smiled as she watched her niece and the king and queen.

Mela smiled softly before giving them both one more hug then going over and sitting by Nero to get some cake and ice cream. She seemed copletely normal... well until she tried to write, read, or go somewhere she wasn't used to without one of her pets.

Listening, Valefar frowned slightly and leaned back against a wall as the maids began to serve the cake and ice cream. "Isn't there a way to stop the infection?" he asked and looked over at Nixy and Vivian before looking over at Vixen again. Nero thanked the maid for the cake and ice cream before sitting down at the table and eating happily. "So Mela, what did you wish for?" he asked her and smiled.

"Well the doctors aren't sure yet... they think that with a little bit of work and a few more weeks of medicine it should clear up... otherwise they might have to.... well remove it since it could spread to her brain." Vixen shivered as she said the last part but then couldn't help but smile some. "Why don't we sit and get some cake love?" she smiled easily as she looked at Valefar lovingly.

Mela grinned lightly before she shook her head. "Nope! If you say what your wish is before the day is over it won't come true." she giggled some then looked up when she heard Nixy and Vivian coming up to her. "Happy birthday sweet girl! I'm sorry I wasn't in here when you blew out your candles." Nixy said softly as she gave Mela a which made her smile and say it was okay.

(I could have sworn I replied to this twice already...stupid computer of mine keeps crashing and keeps pissing me off)

"Well I hope it can be stopped soon before it gets any worse." replied Valefar honestly before nodding at what Vixen said. "Very well, let's go." he said and walked with her to the dining room to get her and himself some cake and ice cream. Nero smiled at the response that Mela had given him. "Well I'm glad you remembered that. Not many people tend to remember that little rule." he explained and chuckled. "I'm sure you wished for something really nice."

Vixen nodded before she sat down with Valefar and watched their daughter smile and nod. Mela then continued to eat her cake and was soon done and started to chat with a few of her friends that were laughing and just seeming to be having a good time.

(Yes it does. lol I think I'll bring out Charlie in my next post, get the kids' reaction! xD I'm also thinking of having Nero's parent's not approve of him hanging out with Mela since he's human and she's a freak. What do you think?)

Valefar handed Vixen her the plate with a slice of cake and ice cream before grabbing himself some as well. Valefar then silently began to eat his cake and ice cream. Nero continued to eat until his cellphone rang loudly. Sighing, he answered it and quickly stood up. "I'm at Mela's birthday party dad. Yes I told you about it, well I didn't really tell you but I did leave a note on the table." he said and walked out of the room. "Well that's not my fault that you didn't see it...maybe mom did but she probably threw it out. What? Why?" there was a long silence before he spoke again. "Okay then...I'm heading home now. No you don't need to pick me up, I'll walk home it's fine...okay bye." Nero hung up and sighed.

(but they're in the demonic kingdom... how could he be human? I mean I could understand it if he's a pure bread demon of some kind and his parents don't approve because of what Mela is XP )

By this time Mela had finished her cake and looked over when Nero had gotten up and went over to him once he was off the phone. "What's wrong?" she asked worriedly and hoped everything was okay. He never came over for long anymore... when he was a kid he was over there all the time... well until something was placed in the kingdoms news about her not being quite... normal. But even then allot of her friends didn't care and he didn't care... why did it change?

(I'm stupid I know...sorry. We'll just go with what you said.)

Nero looked at Mela and frowned. "I'm sorry...I have to go home." he answered and gave her a quick hug before turning away. "I hope you enjoy the rest of your party Mela...bye." he said and ran off, out of the castle and towards his home. Just then, Charlie came down and casually walked to the where the cake was and stole a piece from Valefar's plate. Seeing this, Valefar smiled. "Hello Charlie, want some cake?" he asked. Charlie nodded and happily accepted the cake and ice cream that Valefar gave him, his tail swaying happily behind him.

Mela frowned sadly but nodded and gave Nero a hug before she went back to the table and smiled at her friends. "Hi uncle Charlie." she smiled brightly making Vixen laugh slightly. It tickled her every time she head it since Mela had grown up thinking of Charlie and Setta as her aunt and uncle, it was very cute. After a few moments Setta also entered the room and you could tell she was pregnant... but you would think she was way further along then she actually was. Setta was nearly two months pregnant but she looked like she was six or seven months. Thanks to her having originally been a dragon her pregnancy would only last for three or four months, but that didn't seem to bother her or surprise Vixen too much. "Happy birthday Mela." Setta smiled as she walked over and Mela stood to hug her. Many of the kids looked at Setta a bit oddly... her and Charlie were very different from any of the other demons in the kingdom, they both seemed to almost have scales and fur at the same time, could walk on their hind legs that sometimes looked like dragon legs, had claws but they weren't very sharp most of the time, and they both had horns and odd looking ears. No one around the castle seemed to notice it anymore but whenever any kids were over they were all fascinated by the two.

Charlie looked over at Mela before waving hello as he continued to eat happily. When he saw Setta, his smile only brightened and he then noticed the kids staring at him and Setta. A little boy widened his eyes, "Your uncle and aunt look funny Mela." he said. Charlie smiled at the comment and chuckled softly. It always made him chuckle when the kids became fascinated with his and Setta's appearance. When Nero arrived at his house, his parents where waiting for him with an unhappy look on their faces. "Nero, you know your father and I don't like you hanging around with that Mela girl." started his mother. Nero frowned. "I know...but she's my friend and I like hanging around with her, she's fun to be around with." he answered softly. "I don't care Nero, you're too good to be hanging around with someone like her. Do not degrade yourself! You're a pure demon and she...I don't even know what that girls is, but I don't want you around her." stated his mother.

"I suppose me and Charlie do look very different don't we?" Setta smiled and Mela shook her head. "No I don't think so. I look allot different then most people... and so does Grammy, I think different is good!" Mela smiled and Setta smiled and laughed a bit. "I think you're right Mela, different is good." she smiled before kissing Mela's head then headed over and sat down close to where Charlie was standing but didn't take any cake. Instead a maid brought her some tea which made her smile and thank the woman before she started sipping at the tea.

Valefar smirked at how the kids reacted to Charlie's and Setta's appearance. "I agree with Mela, different is very good. It makes you who you are. It makes you unique." he answered. "If we think about it, everyone is different in their own way." said Usha as she grabbed some more ice cream for herself. Charlie sat down beside Setta and kissed her cheek softly and then smiled as he finished his cake and ice cream before grabbing more.

Vixen smiled brightly and hugged Valefar lovingly as she heard what everyone was saying to explain and it reminded her how different her and Valefar were but how much they loved each other and how they fell in love with each other to begin with. Before too long it seemed all the kids were done and were just chatting and were starting to get a little anxious as they were waiting for someone to say it was time for Mela to open her presents.

Valefar was a little surprised by the sudden hug but smiled and hugged her back gently. It was true what had been said, being different was port of who you were, no two people were the same, it wasn't possible. After he finished he sighed and smirked. "Now then, does my little Mela want to open her presents?" he asked softly, knowing that kids always loved opening the gifts rather than the party itself.

Mela smiled and nodded excitedly. Though most kids did like the presents most of all Mela actually just liked to be around people that she loved, and also kids in her own age group that liked to play with her. It was odd how that turned out since everyone who has heard about all the attention Mela gets thinks that she would be a spoiled brat when in reality she was very kind and on several occasions would give away her old toys and clothes to kids who didn't have toys or that didn't have enough money to get new clothes.

"Okay then, go ahead and open them Mela." he answered and motioned to the many gifts she had received. The gifts consisted of many different clothes, dresses, toys and shoes. Things that she would actually be able to use. Charlie nuzzled Setta's cheek softly as he waited for Mela to open the gifts.

Mela smiled as she started to open the presents and showed what each was since she knew that her grandparents liked to get pictures and thanked each of the people that gave her the presents. Each time she ran out of some that were in front of her one of her pets would bring her more so she didn't have to look around for them.

Mela had received many gifts indeed. It actually surprised him how the towering pile of gifts hadn't toppled over. Oh his birthday, the most he ever got was JuJu berry pie. That was only if he was lucky though, and he didn't want the same for his little Mela. No, he wanted her to have everything that he didn't have as a child...which was a lot when he really did think about it.

Once Mela was finished with her presents and everyone was finished with cake it wasn't too long before everything started to settle and slowly more and more people were going home. Mela smiled and waved as her last few friends left and she let out a big yawn.

Valefar smiled and walked over to Mela. "Seems like someone is sleepy." he said and asked for the maids to take her gifts to her room. The maids nodded and quickly began to take Mela's gifts up to her room. Looking at Mela, Valefar smiled and ran a hand through her hair gently before hugging her gently.

"K-Kinda." Mela said with a big yawn and hugged Valefar back before petting Duchess who came and rubbed up against her ready to lead her to her room if needed.

"Well then off to bed with you." he said kissed the top of her head. Looking down he pet Duchess and smiled, "Duchies here will take you to bed, goodnight little Mela." he said softly.

"I love you Poppa." Mela smiled tiredly before giving Valefar one more hug then hugging Vixen before heading upstairs her pets easily fallowing her while Duchess lead her to her room and then got her night clothes so she could change before bed.
