People who come into your thread, Look and leave without even saying anything,
It's like wtf?
If I happened to pass your thread and come in I'd say something..
Am I that boring that nobody wants to talk?

That was pretty rude, Mene isn't that fast paced of a forum as others. It's a lot slower and calmer, maybe you're not making the threads at the right time. Some people just like to read the discussions, I've noticed you've been making quite a bit of threads, and some you are getting others to reply to you. So what's the big deal?

And for all you know, yes that person may find that topic to be dull. But really, cool down bro. You get people to talk to you on their own time when they want to, feel free to pop into the hang out threads in the community forum. That's where a lot of hanging out happens. Or comment on people's profiles.

Okay listen here Ana_M, There was nothing rude about what I said,
All I did was give my opinion,
And obviously I'm not making a big deal out of it when i'm just stating what I dislike,
And Don't call me "Bro"
I'm not a dude, nor are you authorized to call me that.
And I don't mean to be mean. It's just there are a lot of people who do just look through things and never say anything,
It just annoys me.

And I, also gave my opinion. Don't like me using bro, then just skim over it. I and others do fling that word around and use it on anybody of any gender. The way you had worded it made it show up as rude to me. Also no need to take "what's the big deal" so literally. I'm sure you already know various other meanings that can imply to.

I understand you weren't trying to be mean, just because things may come out as rude doesn't mean they're intended to be so. Likewise with being mean. It's cool, just try some of my ideas. :3

On a side note, I'll try to remember to lighten up on the "bro" term around ya. Can't say I won't say bro all the time but... Yea.

So much tension in this thread >_<

But Ana made some points that I agree with. We're a smaller community and not as fast paced as say Gaia or something. That said, sometimes people will come into your thread and decide that they have nothing to addto the convo, so they'll leave. Other times they might be too shy to initiate a conversation.

It is disheartening to peep people coming into your thread and not have them stay and chat, but you can just as easily go to one of the more active threads and then ask people if they'd like to chat in your thread as well.

:) Everyone means well here.

I think I've lost my noodles.
That and I just feel extremely weird.

Wow, you could cut the atmosphere in here with a knife.

Anyway, Mene isn't as fast as some other forums and a lot of our users are lurkers, meaning they prefer to read rather than actually respond. Mainly so people don't jump down their throats or make them feel uncomfortable, from what I've seen. I know that I'm guilty of that myself. Also, this thread was made around 8am my time, which I know is a pretty quiet time on the site since most people are in bed then.

Just because people don't reply doesn't mean you're boring.

I've had a couple of threads that got absolutely no comments, but over a hundred views. Looking back, I realize those threads were either boring, had too big a text wall, or even I wouldn't reply to it if I saw it. It happens.

Something that does kinda annoy me is when I'm in a hangout thread and ten people are lurking but no one posts. Makes me feel like a thread killer if I was the last poster. :XD But it happens.

Eh heh. I kind of feel obligated to actually put something here since I do the very same thing, in which I look, lurk, then leave. It'd probably be my occupation if the virtual world were real. However, I do feel like a bit of a hypocrite in which I unfortunately feel a bit of annoyance when someone wanders around in a thread I've made, stays there for fifteen minutes staring at the single post, then leaves.

I suppose I'll do well to start denying the desire to do nothing more than wander in, then out again.

I think it's kind of a good thing that people on Menewsha don't tend to say something unless they feel they can contribute to the topic or at least agree with what someone else has said, otherwise it'd be almost spam if they posted something even if they have no opinion on the topic.

Lurking is awesome, when I was on gaia everyone would just reply to your thread with random crap. Totally useless. People on Mene tend to think before they 'speak' and I really like that. Sure there are topics with light hearted discussion, or just random messing around. But in my experience you can have an actual conversation with people around here instead of everyone just coming in and wasting internet space with a 'bump' or 'feeds you cookies'.
Although I have to say some pixel cookies are delicious, especially mine.

I'm totally a lurker. It takes something pretty tempting to get me to post, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I definitely don't post just because I stumble upon a thread, I think that would actually be pretty dumb, since it would mean you probably don't actually have something quality to contribute (in my opinion). I'd rather see good conversation in one of my threads than people posting to be polite or whatever.

Well I'm one of those who usually have something to say to everything and if not I'll just be like I don't know what to say to that.

I really don't think that would have any use in a discussion topic. If you don't know what to say, just don't..
But that's just my opinion.
You should do whatever you like, but don't go around telling people they have to respond to every little thing.. We don't tell you not to.

I never said you told me not to, I just do as I wish and say what I say,
Sometimes I'll have something to say sometimes I don't when I do I go back to it.

I lurk more than I post. I try to post when I can but if I really have nothing to say about the topic then I don't say anything. I think some times people are intimidated by certain threads too and won't post in them because of that. Like if there's too many posts or if the person just has a hard time jumping into conversations and things like that. Luckily, Mene is more of a friendly environment.
