I must say I'm not a huge fan of the "My Friends" pings. ^^; They're a good idea but I don't really like getting pinged all the time. Is there any way that I can disable this option on my account? I'm referring to the "My Friends" pings only, I'd still like to receive the occasional ping about other things if possible.

There isn't, I'm afraid. Apart from unfriending someone who's being a little Facebook statusy with their use of that ping e.i. pinging everyone about something completely inconsequential; your only other option is to beat them around the head with a brick until they stop it :ninja:

The one thing about it that kills me is that when someone quotes the post the myfriends ping was in - it pings you AGAIN. the first time all my friends found out about the myfriends ping I had like 10 pings in my inbox when I came on...and was only pinged about 4 times.

I hate the thing about quoting the My Friends ping. :gonk: I use it to drag people back into my quest because I'm lonely. :lol:

Yeah, I had that happen to me as well. It's definitely annoying.

I don't really want to unfriend people or force them not to use a useful service but I guess it would be nice if the automated ping message had a different title or message interior as the regular pings so that I could know if it's a regular ping or a friend ping so I don't have to check the thread to see why I was dragged there. >.<

@ Cora: Not really, or we would have done it already. We know it's been a bother for a lot of people :sweat: We'd hoped/still hope that people would learn to be courteous about using it, and I think some have, but for others, the novelty still seems to be too great...

Yeah, it kinda got rather annoying after a while...especially with the quoting part. I'd come on and find something like eight pings in my mailbox all leading to the same thread. :sweat: I mean, I don't mind the occasional ping, but I'd prefer if it actually concerns me and not just a blanket-summon in an attempt to draw people to a certain thread to talk.
