Owen did a very through examination, ignoring Ianto when he said he fine. The doctor wasn't happy about how much the Welshman had lost, but it wasn't like he could force him to eat. He also noticed that the other man was exhausted. Instead of asking about it, he just got some sleeping pills and handed it to the man. A short while later, the exam was finished and Ianto went back to the archives, needing to be alone.

Owen, on the other hand, wrote out his report before leaving the medical bay and headed to Jack's office. He knocked slightly before coming.

"Here's my report on Ianto's exam." He told him, handing him the report. "He was a bit underweight. But that's nothing a few good meals won't fix. He also appears to be exhausted, so I gave him so sleeping pills. Don't know if he will even take them or not though."

"HJack watched as Owen came out of the archieves and came towards him with the report in hand. He sighed after hearing the diagnosis. It was bad but it could've been worse thankfully.

"He won't take them," Jack muttered, completely sure of his words as he looked at Owen. "He'll probably flush them or something but he won't take them. He's too proud and stubborn. The only way I could get him to sleep last night was by cuffing him to his bed and even then he only slept for about an hour of so. I'm running out of options. If he doesn't stat sleeping at least he'll pass out and then we'll just have to deal with him doing it again until he either starves himself or he slips into a coma or something." He ran his hands through his hair in irritation at the Welshman before looking at Owen. At this rate I might just force him to sleep down in my bunker to stop him from doing something stupid."

"He just need time to grieve. We'll just need to keep a close eye on him." Owen said. If he needed to, he would sedate Ianto so that he gets some rest. And he could try to make sure he ate at least one good meal a day. If the entire team helped out, they could help him through it.


"Now then. I have an autopsy to complete." He said. With that, he left back to the med bay. He noticed Ianto go to the kitchen on his way.

Ianto went up to the kitchen and started the coffee machine. It was time for the next round of coffee. Besides, he needed it to keep awake. He made the strongest brew and made everybody a cup. He took them to the team, ending with Jack.

"Hey," Jack greeted, smiling at Ianto as the welshman brought in his next cup of coffee. He grabbed it gratefully from the other's hand before setting it down on the desk and taking his seat behidn it. "Did the examination go okay?" He already knew whjat Ianto would say but he asked anyway. Before Ianto could do or say anything to Jack's question he continued, glancing at the time and seeing that it was almost lunch time. "Anyway, it's nearly time for lunch so do you think you could order us something? I don't think we're that bothered about what. Oh and order a little extra. Tosh said earlier that she hasn't been eating right at home because of the late hours." It was a lie of course but Ianto didn't need to know that. He suspected taht when they were eating Ianto wasn't so he told the other to order extra to make sure there was enough for the welshman.

"The exam went just fine." Ianto stated. Sure, he had thought it was unnecessary, but Owen hadn't given him much choice. He nodded. "Of course, sir." He didn't like to hear that Tosh wasn't eating right. She was to small already. He left the room and went up to the tourist office, using the phone in there to order Chinese for the team, getting more than normal. While he waited for the food, he sipped his coffee and did some work. It took a while, but the food soon arrived. He paid the delivery man and waited for him to leave before taking the food back down in the Hub. "Foods here." He called out, heading to the conference room, knowing they would follow.

Jack watched as Ianto re entered the hub with the food.He had told Tosh what he'd said and although she wasn't completely comfortable being the center of the lie at least it meant there was plenty of food so Ianto could eat with them. normallyhe just seemed to dissappear but that wouldn't happen this time. Jack, Tosh and Owen would all have their eyes on him while he was eating so there was no way he'd get out of it.

They all made their way to the conference room so taht they could set teh food in the middle for sharing out. Jack made a small trip to the kitchen and brought out five plates, one for each of them and made sure to set them on the table so taht Ianto would have no doubt that he would be joining them whether he liked it or not.

Ianto set the food on the table and turned to leave, but stopped when he saw Jack was carrying five plates. As he was trying to think of an excuse to be alone, Tosh had already pulled him into the seat next to her, smiling at him slightly. He smiled back a bit.

He served himself some food, but not a lot. He really wasn't hungry. Actually, he felt a bit sick to his stomach. But, he knew that Jack probably wouldn't let him leave until he ate. Owen and Tosh to for that matter.

Jack casually reached over and added a little more food to Ianto's plate, not too much though. He knew from experience that if there was too much food on a plate it could put you off eating. He'd just added a couple more things so taht instead of looking like a portion for an ant it looked like Ianto was eating for a small cat. "Don't worry, there's plenty," he said, grinning at the other before helping himself to the food. The others were doing the same, tucking in greedily to teh Chinese take-out.

Tosh was eating her meal and gave Ianto a little nudge, smiling as she looked from him to teh food.
"Come on," she prompted. "I'll eat if you will, deal?" Jack hid a smile at teh Japanese woman. She was far more cunning than she let on. If Ianto didn't eat then she wouldn't so the Welshman would have to eat. It was a good plan since Ianto would want to make sure Tosh didn't go ungry, especially taking into considderation Jack's little white lie earlier.

Ianto glared at Jack when he put more food on his plate. He had already put as much as he wanted on it. But, he couldn't put the food back. He just wouldn't eat it all. He just sat there for a while, just staring.

He looked at Tosh when she nudged him. He found himself nodding at what she said without even thinking about it. He couldn't let Tosh skip a meal. He reluctantly started eating. Slowly though. He wasn't sure how much he would even be able to eat.

Jack silently nodded in approval of Tosh when she got Ianto to eat. That was definitely a good thing. He wouldn't thank them for it now but it would stop him starving himself to death so it was a good thing in Jack's mind. Owen's too if the knowing glint in the doctor's eye was anything to go by. Gwen didn't really seem to be paying any attention to the rest of them, eating her food and alternating between staring at her plate and eyeing Jack hungrilly, like she wanted to leap accross the table at him. He ignored her, focusing on his own plate but occasionally casting glances Ianto's way just to make sure the other was eating.

Now that Ianto was eating Tosh began her own meal, smiling as Ianto ate. It was slow progress but at least it was progress.

Ianto managed to eat about half of what was on his plate before stopping. He felt full enough and he wasn't sure how much more he could eat until he got sick from it. He just sat in silence the rest of the meal, waiting for everybody else to finish so he could clean up the mess and get back to the archives. Since everybody's eaten, he wouldn't need to be around them for another couple of hours. Except maybe to get them more coffee.

Jack glanced to Ianto's plate and was pleased to see that he'd managed to eat so much. He honestly hadn't been expecting it, maybe a quarter at the most, but this was good. This was definitely progress. He nodded at Tosh discretely and she nodded back, smiling slightly. Jack stood up and clapped his hands to get everyone's attention.

"Alright," eh said, looking at them all. "Since it's been so quiet we're going to start taking more care of the hub and not leaving it all to Ianto. Tosh and me were talking about it earlier and we've worked up a roster so that everyone can do something. Gwen, today it's your turn for the dishes but then you don't have to do it until we've all had our turn."

"But Jack..." she began to protest but he brushed her off immediately.

"No Gwen. You need to start doing more and maybe helping otu around the hub more will teach you that." His voice was firm and brooked no chance of argument. She glared at them all before standing and storming off. "I'll be in the kitchen," she all but hissed at them, slamming the door behind her. Jack shook his head before turning to the rest of the team.

"Ianto," he said, looking at the Welshman. "Your jobs for today are to take care of the archieves, the tourist office and the coffee. If any paperwork needs to be done give it to the correct persont o fill it out. Owen and Tosh have some other cleaning duties so you won't need to go into the med bay today since that'll be Owen's responsibility since it is technically his space. Tosh will just do general tidying up today so feel free to help if you've got a spare moment although I'd like you to concentrate on yoru asignment please. Okay?"

Ianto was surprised at what Jack said. He wasn't expecting for him to say that. And he didn't really need help cleaning up the Hub. He didn't mind doing it. It just gave him more work to do to keep him distracted.

He was even more surprised when Jack gave Gwen something to do. She hasn't done a thing that was helpful since she's got there. All she's done is play games on the computer or stare at Jack. It was a bit annoying.

He wasn't surprised that she complained about it though. That he was expecting. Or about his jobs for the day. Its what he did everyday anyway.

"Alright, sir." he told him. He could do that. He knew he would probably end up doing most of the cleaning anyway. Tosh and Owen had more important things to be worrying about, after all.

"Okay," Jack said. "Owen'll take the plates down to teh kitchen since Gwenleft them here. Even if they're there for a few hours don't do them Ianto. Gwen needs to start pulling her weight, alright?"

Jack then turned to Owen and Tosh and gestured for them to follow him. He left the conference room and headed to his office where he immediately shut the door and turned to the two torchwood employees. "Make sure he doesn't do too much," he instructed. "At least to start off. Owen, make sure you clean your med bay and Tosh just make sure that there's hardly any mess in the hub that you can help. Leave a little though so he doesn't get too suspecious."

They both nodded adn Jack dismissed them before he sat down and started on the paperwork again. The stack was a lot smaller and he was pretty sure he could finish it in an hour or so. He'd make an effort to keep up with it so Ianto didn't end up doing so much or having to worry about reminding him every other day.

Ianto left the conference room a minute after the others. He was to distracted by the fact that Jack was making everybody else help with the cleaning. He had expected to have to do twice the work to make up for what he had done. And he would have done it in silence, glad to have something to distract him. Now he would have barely anything.

He made himself go down to the archives. It was hard for him to just leave knowing there was a mess to clean up. And, knowing Gwen, that it probably wouldn't get done by her unless Jack forced her to do it. If it had to come to that, he would just do it himself. It was much easier for everybody.

It was a few hours later, the paperwork taking a little longer than expected but not too much that Jack finally looked up from his dsk and out teh windows of his office. Gwen was at her desk, apparently working but Jack was pretty sure he saw a crossword puzzle somewhere to her left and a doodle pad to her right. He frowned in her direction before glancing towards Tosh. The young Japanese woman had definitely been doing what she had been told. The hub was relatively tidy although not quite to Ianto's perfect standards but it was more than he'd thought she'd do and for that he was grateful. In hindsight he should have known that Tosh would do more than expected to make things easier for her best friend.

Jack exited his office and strode toward's Gwen's desk. She looked up and hastily tried to conceal what she was doing but it was too late. Jack saw the little game sheet and he glared at her. She didn't last long under it, her gaze dropping quickly to stare at the floor.

"Did you clean up like I asked?" he asked although they both knew he hadn't asked as much as ordered her to. She nodded her head eagerly. "So if I go into teh conference room all the plates will be away and washed back in their right place in teh kitchen?" Gwen hesitated and that was all the answer he needed. his glare intensified and he pointed towards teh conference room. Wordlessly she stood up and he followed her to make sure she did it this time. He watched as she collected the plates and walked back tot he kitchen, not looking at him before all but throwing them in the sink and beginning to clean them. It was a rather rushed job but he was satisfied that they were clean so it was alright. She glared at him when she was finished and was clearly about to complain before he held up a hand, silencing her.

"I don't want to hear it," he said simply. "Just go and actually get some work done. If you can manage that then we can talk for a bit. Until then I've got more important things to do with my time than to make sure you actually do what you're paid to do."

"I'm not a janiter!" she protested.

"And Neither is Ianto so stop treating him like one and pull your weight!" Jack snapped before turning and striding towards the archieves. He would check on Ianto to make sure he was okay before ordering teh other up to the tourist office to do some sorting out in there. There shouldn't be that much to do so it would be some light work for the next few hours until everyone else left for the day.

Ianto was on his way up to the main Hub to make another round of coffee when he heard Jack and Gwen talking. He stopped and listened, touched when he heard Jack defending him. Then he remembered he was mad at him. He then continued walking.

Upon entering the main Hub, the first thing he noticed was that Tosh had cleaned up a bit. It wasn't perfect, but it would be fine for now. He would finish cleaning it when everybody had left for the day.

He passed Jack on his way to the kitchen area. But, he didn't say anything to him. Just kept his eyes on the ground and kept walking. When he got there, he noticed the dishes were done. That was surprising. But, he figured that Jack had made Gwen actually do it. Or that someone else done it. That was the more likely scenario, after all. He went over to the coffee machine and set it up.

Jack paused on his way to teh archieves as Ianto came up. He wondered if the other had just heard his almost shouting match with Gwen but then decided that if he had he probably wouldn't let on so put it to the back of his mind. He was glad to notice taht Ianto didn't immediately set about finishing tidying, isntead he went straight to the coffee machine and started it up. Jack grinned in spite of himself. Coffee was an unofficial duty taht really should be made official at some point. Really Ianto was a miracle worker with taht thing. If he'd chosen to avoid Torchwood he could have set up a coffee shop and made himself a nice proffit.

"Hey," he called to Ianto, walking back towards the kitchen past Gwen who was now at her desk, glaring at the pari of them. "After you're finished with that do you mind checking on the tourist office?"

Ianto looked at Jack when he heard the man speak. He nodded slightly. "Of course, sir." he told him. He turned his attention back to the machine and made everybody a cup. He handed Jack's his, since he was already standing there, before going to everybody else.

He took his cup with him up to the tourist office. His sipped it slowly while he worked. A few people came in needing assistance and he gladly helped out. They were mainly older ladies who told him he was such a nice young man before leaving. Which, of course, made him blush a bit. He was just glad that the team couldn't see him and tease him for it.

Jack watched Ianto on the security feed for a few minutes after the Welshman went up to the tourist office before switching the moniter off and going over to another computer to look at the rift readings. Things looked like they would be calm over the next few days so he didn't see any harm in letting the others go home early. It was only about two hours of so before they were scheduled to go home and if something did come up he could always radio them and tell them to get their asses back to teh hub anyway. He shrugged to himself and called them all together, telling them the good news. Their faces immediately brightened and Gwen and Owen spent no time getting ready to go. One minute they were there the next the cog door was shutting behidn them as they almost ran for it. Jack shook his head, half amused and bemused before turning to Tosh, raising an eyebrow.

"I'll take care of him," he assured the Japanese woman. She nodded and gave him a stern warning look before picking up her bag and jacket and leaving the hub. jack sighed before glancing at teh clock. He'd let Ianto work for another hour before he went up and got the other down. He'd order something for them both to eat although he doubted Ianto would eat as much as he had earlier without Tosh around but at least it would be there if he wanted it. For now he didn't have much to do, the paperwork having already been completed (thankfully) so he distracted himself for a bit by going about teh hub and straightening a few things taht Tosh missed. Pretty soo the hour was up. Jack ordered pizza and made his way to the tourist office to get Ianto.

Ianto looked up when Owen and Gwen came through the tourist office, followed soon by Tosh. At first he thought they were leaving for a rift spike, but when Jack didn't follow, he realized that they were just going home early. That was fine with him. He preferred for the Hub to be quiet anyway. It was easier to get his work done.

Ianto only worked up in the tourist office for about another hour before locking the door and heading back down to the main Hub. He ran into Jack on the way. But, he just figured the captain was leaving for something, so didn't say anything. Just continued on his way to get some work done in the archives. But first, he needed more coffee.

Jack met Ianto on the way up to the tourist office and was about to say something when the other walked right past him without aknowledging his presense in any way. Jack paused, turning around to watch theother continue on his way, oblivious to Jack. His eyes narrowed at that. Had Ianto decied taht he would get through his stay here by ignoring him?

"You know," he called after the welshman, not moving for the moment. "When someone comes to tell you it's quitting time it's polite to at least aknowledge that they're there." He knew his voice was sarcastic but he was annoyed and it had been a longer day than he'd thought it would be.

Ianto stopped when he heard Jack speak. "Its not quitting time if I don't get to go home." he told him, glancing back at him for a moment. He then turned back to the front and kept walking. He went to the coffee machine and made himself another cup, taking it with him to the archives. Time to get back to work. He needed a distraction.

"Oh no you don't," Jack snapped, following Ianto and grabbing his wrist. He spun the other around so he could look into those clear blue eyes. "I've about ahd it with this. I get taht you're grieving but enough is enough Ianto. I have something to show you."

Jack reached into his pocket and pulled out the device he'd pocketed the day before. It was the memory sphere so he could show Ianto exactly what the cybermen were and so he would know taht the thing that had been his girlfriend really wasn't. The fast er Ianto realised that the faster he could move on and the team could work on building him back up again. He quickly activated it, pressing a few buttons before holding it out in the middle of their bodies so taht it was midway between him and Ianto. Immediately it began to take effect and jack projected his memories of the cybermen towards Ianto, showing him the destruction, the conversion prosess, the damage, the half converted beings he had had to deal with in the past and how they had manipulated those around them to get what they wanted. He showed Ianto everything to do with Cybermen before switching the machine off. While they had been using it neither of them could move because of the effects of the device but now they were free to do so. Jack stared into Ianto's eyes, witing for a reaction.

Ianto immediately jerked his wrist out of Jack's grip. He didn't understand why Jack couldn't just let him grieve in his own way. If he just gave him time, he would be able to move on. But how could he when the captain keeps reminding him of what happened.

He was silent as he watched what Jack wanted to show him. He refused to believe it though. Sure, he knew that the Cybermen were dangerous. He was at Canary Wharf when they invaded, after all. But, he refused to believe anything was wrong with Lisa. She was still human until the very end. Only then did the cyber part take over. He knew that if he could have just removed it, she would have been fine.

He didn't say anything to Jack. He just turned and left, going straight to the deepest part of the archives. The part that didn't have any cameras. He needed to be away from Jack before he did something he would probably regret, like punch or shoot the man.
