"Much better," Jack complimented. He ignored how long it had taken Ianto to relax. That was quite normal and he didn't take offense. This wasn't the normal 21st century way of training so he wasn't all taht surprised that Ianto was a bit uncomfortable to start with. "Alright now that that's done drop your arm slightly, take aim and fire. Don't brace so much for the backlash. Let your arm move with the gun if it kicks back but you shouldn't need to worry about that with such a small calibre weapon." Jack took a small step back, allowing Ianto to get used to teh stance on his own without Jack pressed so close so he could manage it on his own.

Ianto nodded to what Jack said. It made sense, after all. He was able to relax much more once the captain had stepped away from him. He took aim again and fired off a few rounds. The bullets managed to hit almost directly in the bullseye. That was definitely much better than his first try. The way Jack explained it made much more sense than the instructors from Torchwood One had. It made it much easier for him to actually hit the target.

"That's it," Jack complimented. He stepped closer to Ianto and carefully adjusted the other's stance slightly, correcting a few slight movements before stepping back again. "Okay now try that," he directed. This was moving faster than he'd thought it would which was both good and bad. On teh one hand it reaffirmed what he already knew, that Ianto was a quick study and a good learner. On the other hand it meant that Jack got to spend less time pressed against the Welshman. Oh well. e'd enjoy what contact he got and be greateful for it.

Ianto let Jack correct his stance, surprised that he didn't tense up again. He nodded and fired another couple rounds, hitting closer to the bullseye. When the gun ran out of cullets, he looked at his watch.
"When should get back to the Hub soon. Its almost time for lunch and I'm sure they all need food and caffiene." He said. He also wanted to make sure that they hadn't torn the Hub apart while unsupervised.

"Just a few more tweeks and then we can go," Jack replied. He stepped up again and pressed against Ianto. "I'll stay behind you while you fire this time," he told the Welshman. "Now do what you dod before but concentrate on your body more. You're almost ther.e I'll help you position while you're firing." He settled his hands on Ianto's body just above the hips, carefully angling Ianto's body so taht it settled better against his own adn in the correct position. "There, now try it and remember the way you held you arm in the last round." he instructed. He wanted this lesson to last longer, liking the feeling of the Welshman pressed against him but he wouldn't push it. Small steps he mentally reminded himself. Small steps...

Ianto nodded and reloaded before he felt Jack behind him again. He could feel himself blushing at how close the captain was to him. He kept his face turned away from the other man though so he couldn't see it. He aimed the gun, but it was an effort to keep his hands from shaking from his nerves. He took a deep breath before firing off the rounds, wanting to be able to move away from the captain so that his heart will go back to normal speed. It was going to fast with him so close.

Jack felt the corners of his mouth pull up in a smirk as he felt Ianto's pulse racing. It was easy to feel since he was in such close proximity to teh Welshman and he couldn't stop his reaction even if he'd wanted to. Reluctantly he released Ianto from his hold and turned so that he was now facing the other.
"Good," he complimented. "Especially since it's your frist proper lesson. We'll do this next week or the week after depending on what happens then but so far you've done better than I expected. Looks like the training at Torchwood One wasn't a total washout after all." His smirk was still on his face and it took everything he had not to reach out and grab Ianto again and pull him close but so they were facing each other. He resisted though, barely, and instead turned the conversation to the other reason for being here. "Now that that's taken care of let's get the weapons and amo we need and head back to the Hub before Gwen, Owen and Tosh do unspeakable things trying to work your coffee machine."

Ianto mentally groaned when Jack moved away from him. He could feel the sudden loss, which left him feel slightly cold. But, it probablyy was for the best that the captain wasn't so close.
He couldn't help but blush slightly again when Jack complimented him. Though he wasn't expecting the captain to say they had to do this again. He wasn't sure he would be able to handle having the other so close to him again while trying to focus.
"Yeah. That would probably be for the best. It would be a shame if they broke the coffee machine." He said, knowing if they did, they would be on decaf for a month. Maybe longer. And that would just leave them all grumpy.

"Alright then, le'ts load up and head back," Jack replied. His mood had improved greatly after the close contact with Ianto and he was pretty sure it was obvious but he didn't care. He was in a good mood and didn't mind who saw. It took him less than five minutes to get what they needed and soon he was loading it into the back of the van, doing some juggling of sorts to fit the weaposn in beside the other stuff they'd collected earlier. He was sure there had been less of it.....
Finally he managed to get the back door shut and they were ready to go.
"Do you want to drive or shall I?" he asked, turning to face the Welshman. He'd prefer to drive of course but it might make Ianto feel more in control if he was given a choice of who was to get them back to the hub.

Ianto nodded in agreement. He helped Jack get the supplies and to load it into the SUV. He was surprised by how much stuff they had actually gotten. It seemed like less until they loaded their ammo and weapons into the vehicle. It normally wasn't as much when he went shopping on his own. He mentally blamed the captain for that.
"I think I should drive." He said. He did still have the keys, after all. Besides, Jack drove to fast at the best of times. He did want to get himself and everything they bought back to the Hub in one peace. He didn't wait for Jack to argue with him. He just climbed in the driver's side.

Jack pouted at Ianto's answer but nevertheless hopped into the passenger's side of the front of the SUV without complaining. He didn't bother with his seatbelt, something which he knew he would probably get hell but but between Ianto's driving and his immortality Jack figured that he was probably pretty safe. He leaned back against the back of the seat and raised his hands behind his head, resting the back of his skull against them as he relaxed. Today had gone much better than he'd expected and he could honestly say he'd enjoyed it very much.
"So swhat should we do when we get back to the hub?" he asked, turning his head slightly to look at Ianto curiously.

Ianto wanted to say something about Jack not buckling up, but didn't. He knew the captain would listen. Instead, he just started driving back to the Hub. He thought about it for a moment.
"I think you should be getting back to work, don't you?" He asked, though he knew thaat Jack wouldn't do much work once they got back. He rarely did any of his actual work. But, Ianto was going to be getting back to doing his work.

"Aww, you're no fun," Jack teased. In reality he knew he had work to do but he had been keeping up with it over the last few weeks, probably because if he didn't then he was afraid that the Welshman would switch him to decaff since he was around so much more. It was a terrifying thought and it was enough to keep him in line, for the most part. It worked on all of them really and Jack realised suddenly that Ianto probably held more power within the hub than he did. Out in the field he was the leader but in Torchwood itself Ianto ruled. "Although I think we should probably pick up some lunch for the others. You know how Owen and Gwen get when they're hungry."

"Your not paying me to be fun, sir." Ianto told him. He knew he was to focused on his work most of the time. But, it was something he enjoyed doing. Plus, he hadn't had a lot of time to really do anything other than work lately since he was stuck in the Hub.
"That is a good idea." He stated. He knew that Owen could be more annoying than he normally was if he hadn't eaten of gotten and coffee. "What would you like for today?"

"You choose," Jack replied easily. Since they'd only eaten a little while ago he knew he wouldn't need to eat for another few hours at the least so he didn't mind. Just as long as it was soemthing that teh others would eat then it was fine with him.
As the car moved through teh streets of Cardiff jack found his mind wondering back to the events earlier at the shooting range. He had enjoyed being so close to the Welshman and he definitely wouldn't mind being that close again. The question was if Ianto would accept it. He mentally frowned, debating with himself before coming to a decision. When everyone else left tonight he'd confront Ianto and, if things went well, spend a little more 'personal' time with the other.

"Alright then." Ianto said. He drove for another moment before stopping in front of a deli and getting a couple sandwiches for everybody. He returned to the SUV and drove back to the Hub, thinking about today. He hated to admit it, but he did enjoy having Jack so close to him. Even if it made it a bit harder to think. He just hoped that the captain wouldn't realize this and leave him alone so he could sort through his feelings.
When they arrived back at the Hub, he parked and got out, planning on unloading everything after he's brought in the food and gotten everybody some coffee. "Let's go, sir." he called back to him, already have started walking.

"Impatient, aren't we?" Jack teased, stepping easily out of the SUV and jogging slightly to catch up with Ianto. He didn't really need to jog but it got him back to where he belonged, beside Ianto, faster than walking.
"Lunch time!" Jack called cheerfully as they entered the hub. Owen immediately stopped what he was doing along with Gwen at his words and made their way to the conference room where they normally ate lunch. Tosh smiled at them, her eyes darting between the two males before she quickly finished up what she'd been working on before standing. She'd clearly been doing something highly technical on the computer and didn't want to lose her work by accident so she'd saved it.
"Did everything go alright?" Tosh asked, walking towards them and carefully taking some of the sandwhiches from Ianto so taht he didn't have as much to carry.

Ianto mentally rolled his eyes when he saw Owen and Gwen rush to the cconference room. He swore they were just like kids sometimes. Well, most of the time actually. But,, there wasn't anything he could do to change that.
He smiled at Tosh when she came over to them. "Everything went just fine." He told her. He handed hyer the food to take to the conference room so that he could go make coffee before Owen started demanding it.

Jack decided to walk up with Tosh to the conference room and helped her unload the sandwhiches so that the others could get their food quicker. The sooner Owen was fed the less likely it was he'd be in a foul mood for the rest of the day. Sometimes he felt more like a babysitter than the boss of an organisation that was responsible for the safety of the human race but that wasn't at the forefront of his mind at the moment. Instead of thinking about his other team members his mind was pre occupied with thoughts of a certain Welshman. Something in his expression must have given him away because Tosh nudged him and then favoured him with a knowing smile.
"Went well, did it?" she teased lightly.
"Very," Jack agreed before turning and heading back to his own office. He would have liked to talk longer with Tosh but as Ianto had pointed out earlier he had work to do and the sooner he finished it the sooner he could spend some time with his favourite employee.

Ianto watched Tosh and Jack head to the conference room before heading to the kitchen. As the coffee was being made, he thought about what happened at the gun range. He really didn't understand why Jack had to be that close to show him how to shoot. Thougha part of him had minded, a lartger part hadn't. And that left him confused.
He made everyone a cup of coffee before heading to the conference room, passing Jack on the way.
"Aren't you going to eat with the team?" He asked the captain, looking at him.

"I already ate, remember?" Jack replied easily. They had only eaten about an hour ago so he wasn't hungry. He wouldn't need to eat for at least another four hours give or take so he'd be fine. Well taht and he was hardly in danger of starving himself to death so he was quite confident he didn't need to eat. "I will take my coffee though," he grinned, gracefully removing the desired cup and taking a small sip. He sighed audibly as the wonderful taste of Ianto's coffee passed his lips. "Perfect," he grinned before heading to his office to finish that work. The sooner the paperwork was done the sooner he could go back to teasing his Welshman. "Keep the kids in line while I'm in my office," he called over his shoulder as he entered his office.

Ianto was about to say something about Jack not eating with them, then remembered that he had. He held out the captain's cup and blushed slightly at the praise, though it wasn't noticable. "Of course I will, sir." He told him. He watched him go before continuing to the conference room. He passed out the coffees and took a seat, though he wasn't planning on eating since he wasn't hungry.

Jack closed the door behind him and leaned against it for a moment, taking a little time out to go through the days events. He smirked to himself, mentally moving a few pieces on an inner chess board. Today had gone better than expected and he was looking forward to talking further with the Welshman later. For now...
Sighing in a resigned osrt of way Jack made his way to his desk, carefully set the cup of coffee on said desk and sat behind it. He pulled some papers towards him and began to work, going through them as fast as possible so taht they'd be finished in a couple hours rather than the six or seven it would normally take. When he put his mind to it he could do paperwork quite quickly and he really wanted to finish it so he could spend more time with Ianto. He was slowly wearing the other down and he knew it. Ianto might not be aware of it but Jack certainly was and that was a truly thrilling thought for the 51st century former time agent.

Ianto spoke with Tosh for a while while the team was eating. Once everybody was done, he cleaned up the mess and washed the dirty dishes. He then headed out to the SUV and brought in all the stuff he and Jack had bought earlier. That took some time.
With all that done, it was time to get back to his work. He headed down to the archives and spent the next couple of hours sorting through the files. He occasionally came up and got everybody some more coffee. But only up to a certain time. Otherwise everybody would be up all night and that wouldn't be good. For anyone. Before he knew it, the team had gone home for the night, leaving him alone with Jack. Not that he even noticed that they were even gone.

Jack watched from his office as first Gwen then Owen and finally Tosh went home for the night. He noticed that Gwen's work station was a mess with unfinished work and half drawn doodles and empty cups of coffee. It was a pig stye. Owen's area was slightly better since he'd taken the time to pack away anything taht was potentially dangerous but still a bit of a mess. Tosh's was the neatest but she was so precise and methodical that he wasn't surprised. At least one of them was trying to make things easier for Ianto.
When they'd all left he stood from behind his desk. He silently congratulated himself for finishing the paperwork early and headed out the door and down the stairs. It was time to locate his favourite Welshman and drag him away from his work for an hour or two.
