"It's not, but unless someone comes up with a better one, it's the only idea we've got at current." Christine shrugged.

Tamara was quiet for a moment, conferring with her sisters.

"We need a distraction that makes a lot of noise," she said finally. "Big and flashy and noisy."

Harry looked at them. "Big and flashy and noisy like, say, someone setting a barrel of fireworks on fire?"

"That would work," Tamara said, looking at him. "In this situation, I don't think there can be such a thing as 'overkill,' so that would work well, I'd imagine."

"Great. We just need to find some fireworks for me, and I'll take care of the rest." Harry grinned briefly. There was a definite upside to being a wizard: Matches not required.

"Fireworks, or anything that will explode, really," Tamara mused. "Barrel of sawdust, or flour, either of those will do it. Something more flammable will be even better."

Harry nodded. "Yeah. That'll work just fine. We just need to get enough."

Christine hid a smile. "I could get some things from the local hunting store, there's one not far off. Last I checked a day or two ago the owners were still there and had kept the place open."

"That'll be our best bet, I think," Tamara said, nodding. Cal perked up a bit when he heard 'hunting store,' but he didn't comment.

Christine noticed him perk up, since he did so visibly, and she snorted.

"Alright, you," she said, looking at him. "You're coming with. I saw that look, don't even try to deny it."

Cal blinked.

"What, me?" he asked. "Why me?" He was not going to admit that he'd been too open with his reactions, nope, not at all.

"You use a gun, you're the resident gun expert now, so you're coming with me to help me pick stuff out." Christine went to go get her shoes. "Let's go, chop chop."

Cal looked like he was about to protest and then sighed, getting up. Damn Nik for raising him right.

Niko just smirked at Cal as he passed, having raised no objection at all.

Christine nodded and grabbed her purse and things, leading the way out to her car before diving them to the hunting store. As she'd predicted, it was still open, and she grinned at the owners as she led Cal inside.

Cal just followed her, although his gaze did linger on a couple of nice hunting knives on a display as they went by. Not as good as his combat knife, of course, but still... Not bad.

"Alright, your area of expertise, you tell me what we need." Christine looked over at him, motioning to the store.

Cal looked around carefully, making note of just about everything. Finally, he pointed out a few things that would work for what Christine had in mind.

Christine bought the things, as well as a few other supplies for herself, before shoving one of the bags at Cal and heading out of the store.

"There. Now we just need to get a barrel from the hardware store down the street and we should be just about set."

"Lead the way," Cal said, tilting his head a bit towards the door.

Christine nodded and dumped stuff in her car briefly before walking to the hardware store. It was close enough, after all, and she could shove the barrel off on Cal to carry back to her car.

Cal followed her, glancing around from time to time to keep an eye on their surroundings. Niko would never let him live it down if he was caught by surprise by anything.

Christine found a good enough barrel and bought it before handing it over to Cal to carry.

"I think we're ready to head back, unless there's something you wanted to get?"

"Nope," Cal replied. He eyed the barrel before sighing and taking it.

Christine grinned at that. "Well, since we're out, I think I'm going to pick up food, since I have five more people to feed now somehow."

"Food sounds like a good idea," Cal agreed, nodding. Hey, he could get on board with that. "Where to?"

"There's a grocery store a few blocks that way. I'll drive over." Christine made sure everything was in her car before she waved him in and started driving again.

"You have any preferences in food? Meat, obviously, but any kind in particular?"
