"Not really," Cal replied. After a moment, he amended, "though I kind of would rather red meat over pork or anything."

"Got it." Christine parked and led the way inside, grabbing what she needed before glancing at Cal again.

"Anything I can get for your brother?"

"Grass," Cal said dryly. He smirked. "Nik is into all that organic healthy shit." He rolled his eyes.

Christine barely managed to smother a snort at that, but she got some organic fruits and things for him anyway. Hey, even if Nik didn't eat them, she would.

"Alright, now I'll go pay and you get to help me carry this all out to the car."

"What am I, a packmule?" Cal whined asked. "Last I checked, I don't have four legs and hooves." He followed her anyways as she headed to pay.

Christine paused in the middle of putting some things in her trunk, smirking as she looked him over.

"Maybe not, but I bet you'd look great in a leather collar."

Cal blinked.

"What?" he asked, looking at her.

"Nothing." Christine shoved the grocery bags in the trunk of her car before going around to her side, trying valiantly to ignore her blush. Whoops. She hadn't actually meant to say that out loud.

"No, you said something about a leather collar," Cal said. "What were you talking about?"

"Nothing." Christine was still blushing, and she drove back to the house as quickly as she dared. "It meant nothing, ignore it."

Cal still looked at her a bit suspiciously, but didn't ask again.

Christine was still blushing as she parked and unlocked the front door, carrying things inside. She didn't say a word to any of the others as she went straight into the kitchen.

Kali was in the kitchen making some tea. She looked over when she heard someone walk in.

"Welcome home," she said. She paused. "Something wrong? You're flushed."

"Yeah, I'm okay." Christine put the groceries away quickly. "Just an idiot, but, y'know, that's normal."

"What happened?" Kali asked. She paused. "And Tamara wants to know what you did."

Christine was silent until she'd finished putting groceries away, and then she turned to look at Kali.

"I was flirting with him," she said, still red. "Flirting."

Kali blinked. Then she closed her eyes and shook her head, blonde hair turning to red curls as Tamara took control.

"You're kidding," Tamara said, looking at Christine.

"No," Christine groaned. "I wish I was but I'm not. Oh god I was flirting with him..."

Tamara bit her lip a little, grinning.

"That's so cute," she said. "You found someone you like enough to flirt with."

Christine spluttered a bit. "But I don't even like him! Not really. I mean the first time we met we threatened to kill each other!" She almost pouted.

"You must if you're flirting with him," Tamara pointed out. "And honestly, it took much longer than this for us to warm up to each other, remember?"

"Yeah well you thought I was crazy and I thought you were pulling my leg for a while." Christine shrugged. She grinned briefly. "We already know he and his brother are crazy."

"Although we don't know what they are," Tamara pointed out after a moment. "Or at least, him. His brother is human, I think. Pretty sure."

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure the brother is human. But him? Not so much." Christine shrugged. "I dunno. I'll figure it out eventually. For now, I think I'm going to start working on dinner so I don't have to face them."

"You do that," Tamara said. She picked up Kali's tea. "We'll go back in to the other room to supervise."
