"Yeah," Bahiti agreed, sitting down. "I'm going to keep an eye on him until I know whether or not he's out for us."

"Good idea." Christine stretched. "Well, I haven't found anything useful yet. There's a lot of lore to go through, here."

"Right now, I think everyone's looking for more information to share," Bahiti said. "I talked to the brothers and to the wizard, and we're all approximately on the same page now."

"Okay." Christine sighed. "So now we all just have to slog through all this information and find the most likely suspects, and then figure out who's doing this from there." She ran a hand through her hair.

"Easier said than done, I guess," Bahiti said. She sighed a bit.

"You could always help me go through it all," Christine said, looking over at her with a little grin. "Or Tamara."

Bahiti snorted.

"Not me," she said. "I wouldn't know what I was looking at."

Christine snickered and went back to her books, occasionally making notes in a notebook. She hadn't been kidding when she said there was a lot to go through.

After a few moments of quiet, Bahiti backed off in favor of Tamara. Tamara went over to the table and pulled over a book.

"I'll help," she said.

"Thanks." Christine pushed over a notebook too, rubbing her eyes briefly. "It's kind of heavy reading, so be prepared."

"Unlike my sister, I'm good with heavy reading," Tamara replied with a bit of a grin.

Christine just snickered and went back to her research, scribbling notes every once in a while.

Tamara sifted through the books as well, marking down anything that seemed promising.

Christine finally stopped to make dinner for them, rubbing her forehead. Research was giving her a headache.

Tamara noticed and set down her own research.

"Go sit and relax for a while," she said, getting up. "One of us can cook tonight, it's fine."

Christine hesitated for a few moments before she nodded, going to curl up in a chair for a while instead.

"There are way too many possibilities for suspects," she grumbled.

"I hear that," Tamara agreed as she went into the kitchen. "Dresden-guy said he would have a potential list for us, though, maybe that'll narrow some things down."

"Good." Christine yawned briefly. "What about the guy down the street? Did he say anything of interest?"

"Not really." Tamara made a face. "But the blonde one is way too perceptive. He knows about us, I'm sure of it, and there's something going on with his brother that he doesn't want to admit, but he didn't say anything useful about the sickness."

"Well that's just bloody unhelpful." Christine made a face. "Ah, well, maybe he'll be useful eventually so we won't have to threaten him. Too much."

"We'll see," Tamara replied as she rummaged through the cabinets. "Dinner won't be fancy, but it'll be edible."

"That's fine, I can live with edible," Christine said with a shrug. "Take your time, don't worry."

Tamara grinned a bit and continued working on cooking.

Christine was quiet through dinner, unable to get the possibilities out of her head. Because she just couldn't stop thinking about the demons she'd been reading about.

Rather than Tamara, it was Kali who sat down next to Christine.

"You okay?" she asked softly.
