This flight was marginally longer than the other one, and when the plane finally landed, Carlos could see the eastern sky just barely beginning to lighten.

"We should go to the hotel now," he said as he ushered the girls towards baggage claim. "Dawn's not all that far off, and I'd really like to be in a dark room when it hits."

"Oh I'd just like a bed," Leila groaned. She was tired now. She'd only napped on and off through the trip, so she wanted to get to the hotel and get settled in for the night.

"There's a bed in the hotel with your name written all over it," Carlos promised as they got their bags. "Come on, there should be a shuttle to take us there."

Leila nodded and managed to get one of her bags, leading the way over to the shuttle. "Still doing okay, Katherine?" She glanced over at her friend.

"I'm fine," Katherine replied. She already had her own bags and was towing them along behind her. "Bedding down for the day doesn't sound like a bad idea."

"Yeah." Leila smiled a little. "Will you two be okay? For feeding, I mean."

Katherine waved a hand even as Carlos covered a yawn.

"We'll be fine," Katherine said. "I'll take a look around the area before I sleep for the day, and we'll go out come dusk before the flight out."

Leila nodded and got a seat on the shuttle, settling in for the trip to the hotel. "Well, long as you two can manage."

"We've been at this a while," Katherine said. "We'll be fine." She put an arm around Leila's shoulders and hugged her a bit. "We're not fledgelings anymore." She paused. "Well, Carlos may still act like a neophyte, but he's an adult too."

Leila giggled. "This is true." She smiled, resting briefly against Katherine. Then she yawned. "And it's definitely bedtime."

"You can sleep when we get to the hotel," Katherine replied, nudging Leila a bit. "Don't drift off on us now."

"I'm not." Leila grumbled. "I'm just tired. And you make a convenient pillow." She grinned though.

"Not a warm one, though," Katherine pointed out.

"Eh. I'm warm enough." Leila shrugged, but she sat up properly when the shuttle arrived at their hotel. She got off and stretched briefly before taking her bags inside.

Carlos hurried inside as well, both to get their room keys and to get inside and away from the brightening sky. Katherine followed at a more sedate pace.

Once Leila got to her room, she dropped her bags and fell into bed with a happy little sigh. She could shower when she got up; sleep came first.

Once Katherine dropped her things off, she left her room again. She would scope out the area and let Carlos know where the best spot to feed was. She might not like him much, but their kind had to stick together in an unfamiliar place.

Leila got up later than she had been the next day, showering before she went to go see if Katherine was up. She knocked on the door a few times quietly.

Katherine had gotten back just after sunrise and had immediately went to sleep. She barely woke when Leila knocked on the door, and she shuffled her way over to open it.

"It's not even sunset," she murmured as she let her friend in.

"Sorry," Leila said with a sheepish grin. "I wanted to see if you were awake. Go ahead and go back to sleep. I'll go find myself some food."

"You do that," Katherine mumbled. "I want more rest. Wake me again at dusk if I'm not up by then."

"Okay. Go back to sleep." Leila smiled and patted her shoulder before she headed downstairs to find somewhere to eat.

Katherine muttered something incoherent and shuffled back to bed to sleep for the rest of the afternoon.

Carlos woke around dusk, absolutely ravenous. As soon as he was dressed, he went to knock on Katherine's door to see if she was awake. He wasted no time when the door opened.

"Were can we go?" he asked.

"Take a right out the door, go around the corner, then go three blocks," Katherine replied just as efficiently. "There's a bar there that caters to us."

"Thanks," Carlos replied. With that, he turned and left to find himself something to eat.

Leila was still wandering around town at dusk, having figured that Katherine and Carlos would need to feed when they got up. Besides, they were in a charming area.

Carlos caught up to Leila a while later, sated for the moment.

"There you are," he said, putting an arm around her shoulders and grinning.
