Leila nodded. "Alright. I'll work on the bathroom first, then." Since she had things in the bathroom too that she had to gather up. She didn't look at Katherine again as she worked, separating out their things before packing them up again. And then making sure she had all her clothes and things packed away, because she didn't want to leave anything behind.

Katherine got up after a few moments and used her free hand to rummage about in her suitcase for a tee and a set of sweatpants. That was about all she was going to tolerate wearing until she could properly treat and bind her wound and feed some more. Carefully, she changed out of her dress, biting back whimpers of pain as she moved her injured shoulder. Eventually, she threw the dress into the suitcase and settled onto the bed again.

"Okay, this "Uncle" person says that someone will be here within two hours." Leila handed over Katherine's phone again. "I guess they'll buzz us, or something?" She shugged and set her suitcase on her bed so she'd be able to grab it and go.

"Likely the chauffeur will call," Katherine replied. The method of transportation changed with the times, and it had been a long while since she'd needed to send an SOS to the head of the family. "I'm sorry for messing up the vacation."

"It's fine, Kat. Really. Like I said, I've always wanted to see Romania anyway, and we can always come back here after you're better." Leila looked at her for a few moments.

"What did happen, anyway? That guy didn't exactly sound happy."

"He... Well. Let's just say people like him tend not to like people like me," Katherine said. Without Leila believing her about vampires, there was no way to explain to her about vampire hunters, as well. "I hadn't expected to run into any of them around here, I should have been more careful."

Leila shrugged. "Alright. If you say so." She still had her suspicions, of course, but she couldn't do anything just at the moment.

Instead, she glanced at Katherine's phone when it buzzed. "I guess they're here."

That was faster than Katherine expected. Reaching for her phone, she answered it. The person on the other end was indeed the chauffeur, letting her know he was waiting. Ending the call, she got up.

"Time to go," she said, picking up her bag with a slight grimace. "There is a plane waiting to take us to Romania, the driver will take us to it."

"Jeeze, Kat, I knew you were rich, but a chauffer and a private plane? Your uncle must be freaking loaded." Which, yes, she knew wasn't quite the tactful thing to say, but really, she couldn't help it.

Katherine just grinned a bit.

"Uncle has had a while to get to where he is," she said. "The private plane is usually necessary, however. Usually."

Leila raised her eyebrows at that but didn't ask anything else, instead taking her own bags and heading down the elevator with Katherine and out to the car. Which made her pause for a moment, as it was a very well kept antique car, and she just shook her head.

Katherine pulled her suitcase along, doing her best not to move her injured shoulder. As soon as they were out of the hotel, the driver got out of the car and went to open the trunk.

"Mistress," he murmured in greeting. Katherine didn't react. The driver called anyone of the bloodline 'master' or 'mistress.' "Your... companion?"

"She is coming with me," Katherine replied softly. "She is not to be touched."

"Understood." The driver took Katherine's bag and put it into the trunk, then did the same for Leila's before opening the passenger doors for them both.

Leila slid into the car carefully. This was one of those cars that she was almost afraid to touch for fear of breaking or hurting something and then not being able to pay for repairs. As it was, she'd had to pull extra hours and she'd saved up for a while just to get this trip with Katherine.

"This is almost too posh for me."

"Uncle likes to indulge," Katherine replied as she laid her head back on the headrest. The windows of the car were darkly tinted, and some of the side panels had lighting installed to compensate. "Relax for a bit, we'll be driving for a bit, I think."

Leila nodded, getting comfortable in the car and stretching her legs out a little. Okay, yeah, it was posh, but it was really damn comfortable.

"Least your uncle has good taste."

"Never let it be said that Uncle has bad taste in anything," Katherine agreed, closing her eyes as she relaxed. She sighed slightly as she let the tension slowly bleed out of her muscles.

Leila didn't relax as fully as Katherine did, but she did relax. She was in a nice car, everything seemed to be okay, and her friend was relaxed, so she figured things couldn't be too bad.

Hopefully.

The drive to the private plane wasn't all that long, but Katherine knew the flight would be. Once she was settled in the small plane, she looked at Leila.

"Doing alright so far?" she asked. "The flight is going to be a while, so you may as well settle in."

Leila nodded. "Yeah. Still kind of stunned, I think, but I'm doing okay." She let out a breath, settling back into her seat.

"When we get there, don't let it intimidate you," Katherine said. "Like I said, Uncle is a bit eccentric and likes to indulge. Don't let it cow you."

"Now you're just worrying me," Leila said, looking over at her. "Your uncle has that much stuff, really? This is... definitely worrisome."

"I told you, Uncle has had a long time to get to where he is," Katherine replied, glancing at her friend. "Don't worry about it. Just treat it like any other vacation."

"Okie dokie." Leila shrugged and settled in where she was for the rest of the trip. She didn't feel the need to point out that any other vacation would not have her sitting in a private jet headed towards somewhere else.

The flight was long, but Katherine was well-practiced in being patient. The only real downside to the trip was the deep, persistent pain in her shoulder. She endured it until the plane touched down, though; only hissing a bit when they were jostled around upon landing.

"There should be one more driver waiting to take us to Uncle's place," she said as she stood up. "Welcome to Romania, by the way, Leila."

"Thanks." Leila stood, stretching briefly before she headed outside. "And now I need my jacket. At least I get to see part of Romania."
