Yes, I have heard of the series.
I read the first book and enjoyed it very much, and I was really looking forward to Eldest when it came out. In my opinion though, they really started to go downhill. I wasn't all that impressed with Eldest and I didn't like Brinsingr at all. I didn't even bother to read Inheritence when it came out.
My favourite character was Nasuada because she was a strong leader and didn't let anything get in her way. Least favourite was Katrina because she was useless.
As for dragons, I never read Inheritence so I only know of 3 (not including Galbatorix's), but I'd say Thorn

Katrina wasn't all that useless. She kept Roran strong. Katrina was Roran movate to stay alive and stay strong. She not that completly useless. Katrina and Roran kept the romance in the books. Useless in a fight tho. There is only 4 books of the series but i'm hoping there might be a 5th one about how all became to be and more about brom. :P

Well, maybe I am a little hard on her. We share the same name so I was kind of disappointed that she mostly played the "damsel in distress" role. Her whole character revolved around Roran though, and I would have preferred for her to be more independent.

Yes, I've heard of the Eragon series! :D I like it quite a bit, but I'm a fantasy nut.. :P Well, I liked 2 out of the first 3.. I can't remember which book or even which part, but I know at some point in one of the books, I was getting tired of it. But I would say it worked itself out. I still want to read the 4th book at least.

My favorite character... I like Angela a lot. Most of the characters had redeeming qualities. As far as dragons go, probably Glaedr is my favorite?

As for least favorite.. Maybe Galbatorix? Dunno.. I can't remember the books that well anymore, it's been a few months since I've read them. ^^;

Uhm... favorite book was probably number 2 or 3... The least favorite was also number 2 or 3. Haha! I like Du Weldenvarden, so... The parts of the books that took place there were among my favorites.

I haven't read the 4th book yet, so I don't have any opinion on whether there would be a 5th one... It's supposed to end at number 4, right?

Ah, I feel so guilty. I watched the movie for the first book so my mother said "Oh, buy the second book and read that since you already watched the movie."

Worst. Decision. Ever.
I read about 30 pages of it and I was already so lost by then I gave up. It's now sitting on my shelf collecting dust.

I'm not too into fantasy, but it really varies. I read a bunch of different stuff. But sighhhh. Maybe I should read the first book some day.

I actually loved the Eragon series. Of course the first one was the best. I don't remember ever reading the end so I guess I'm still on the third book, then?
I actually think Saphira was my favorite character because she was generally so wise and caring when it came to her human... Elf.... Hybrid petulant charge.
I know it's a spoiler but what happened with the other two eggs? I really am dying to know. As long as the ending to this series wasn't as terrible as Clan of the Cave Bear I do want tto read it very badly someday!

It's crazy popular with middle schoolers and maybe 9th graders. I have not read them yet...I should I'm a librarian! But the whole fantasy deal doesn't appeal to me much.

The Inheritance Cycle is one of my favourite series. I absolutely love it. To be honest, one of the highlights of my life so far was meeting him during his book signing tour for Inheritance.

My favourite character has to be Murtagh. He has such a depth of character, and I'm excited to see if there will be anything more about him in the future.

As for my least favourite character, I don't know. I found Nasuada a little annoying at times, but as a overall character, I still like her. I don't really have a least favourite character.

My favourite book is even harder. I like the first book, because it's the first. I like the final book because it wraps everything up and throws me for a major loop.

Saphira is, of course, my favourite dragon. She has such a wealth of personality and cares so deeply for her friends and comrades.

Christopher Paolini has indeed confirmed there will be a book five. However, it will not focus on the past, but be placed many years in the future and will focus on different characters, though the characters from the original series will of course still be mentioned and perhaps even present. He hasn't confirmed though when he will wright it. He is currently in the middle of writing something, though he won't say what it is yet. It may be the "fifth" book, it may not be. Either way, I'm excited.

Just remember while reading the book, as far as you should be concerned, THE MOVIE DOESN'T EXIST! In and of itself, it's a decent movie (and Murtagh was portrayed perfectly), but the book is completely different. There were so many characters and plot points cut out that they couldn't make the second movie. But if you enjoyed the movie on its own, you'll absolutely love the book.

See I loved both the books and the movie *laughs* I thought both were strong and interesting.

But you cant compare the two. It doesn't work.

I read the first book in elementary. Back then I found it to be an easy and interesting read.
