"Yes indeed." Kae grinned at Loki. "We'll be along in a few minutes. Do you want to tell the team or should we?"

Loki considered that before he shrugged. "Since I assume you do not want me to create tensions with them again, I will leave you to tell them."

Elaine nodded.

"We'll talk to them," she said. She wrapped the towel around her waist and waited for Kae.

Kae dried off a little more before she wrapped her towel around herself and followed Elaine inside to go find the team and explain to them that no, they were not gong to be doing any Loki pounding.

"You tell Tony, I'll tell Steve," Elaine said to Kae. "I think they'll have an easier time keeping Clint from being revenge-y than we will. Sound good?"

"Definitely." Kae grimaced a little; she'd forgotten Clint was likely to have a mini heart attack. So she headed off to find Tony.

While Kae went to find Tony, Elaine managed to track Steve down to the gym.

"I thought I might find you in here," she said.

"Yeah." Steve smiled a little. "Have a nice swim?" He moved away from the punching bag, over to the chairs he'd brought down.

"I did," Elaine replied, smiling a bit. "But there's something I need to run by you real quick." She paused for a moment. "Kae and I were invited to go with Thor and Loki to this convention of the gods type thing, and I'm going to go."

Steve's eyebrows shot up. Okay, that was odd. Loki must have asked the girls, and he had defended the girls once. Steve knew Thor hadn't asked them, because he could still faintly hear Thor in the kitchen gushing over his Pop-Tarts. Of course, it still made him jittery just thinking about gods, let alone a god convention.

"Okay," he said quietly. "You want to go?" He had to make sure, after all, in case Loki had blackmailed her into it or something. He didn't think so, but he wanted to be sure.

Elaine nodded.

"I really want to go," she said. "It's an opportunity that I'm fairly sure we're never going to get again."

"Okay." Steve nodded. "And you'll be safe?" Because yes he was worried about that.

"I'll stay close to Thor and Loki," Elaine promised. "And I'll try not to intentionally provoke anyone."

Steve nodded. "Good. When are you leaving?"

"In a couple days," Elaine replied. She grinned a bit. "I need to do a bit of shopping first."

Steve chuckled, shaking his head. "I'm sure," he agreed with a brief grin. "I assume you and Kae are going?"

Elaine nodded.

"Yeah," she replied. "Like I said, it's an amazing opportunity. I may not know my Norse all that well, but I'm well-versed in my Greek and Egyptian, and actually getting the chance to be there and see them all..." She grinned a bit. "It'll be amazing."

Steve just nodded. Yeah, he wasn't comfortable with this. At all. He still wasn't entirely sure what to think of all the gods suddenly popping up, but he didn't much like it.

"Well, as long as you're safe."

"I'll be okay," Elaine promised him. She bit her lip slightly. "I... know who to talk to for protection, if I need it." That was as close as she'd ever come to flat out telling him that she wasn't Christian.

Steve tensed a little but nodded. He'd already accepted that people were much more open about religion and much more accepting of other religions. It hadn't really been a problem for him since he had always been of the mind that people were entitled to believe what they want so long as they don't try and force it on others.

"Alright," he agreed quietly.

Elaine hugged him.

"I won't try to push my beliefs on you, I swear," she said. "But you see why I want to go, now."

Steve nodded, wrapping his arms around her. "I knew as soon as you told me what it was," he said with a little smile. "I do remember you mentioning something about mythology classes in college."

"Well, it's mostly the mythology classes," Elaine admitted. "Mostly. But there were a few that Loki mentioned would be there..." She hesitated for a moment. "Steve, they're my gods. My patrons, the ones I chose to believe in. And he said they would be there."

Steve hesitated for a few moments. "I can't say I understand, because I don't," he said quietly. "But I'm glad you're pleased."

Elaine was quiet for a second, trying to find a good enough comparison for him.

"It would be like you getting to an Archangel," she said after a moment. "Or getting to meet Christ Himself. Kind of like that."

Steve nodded slowly. He seriously doubted that would ever happen to him, but hey, he wasn't going to take the opportunity away from her.
