"How was that?" Elaine asked. Greek mythology was something she and Kae were both well-versed in.

"Interesting," Kae admitted. "Aphrodite and Athena were okay. Eros was pretty similar to Cupid, but a little less snooty."

"Makes sense," Elaine mused. "Opposite sides of the same basic idea and all. What else?" She looked at her friend, practically begging for any scrap of information.

Kae shrugged. "Aphrodite thought I was cute, and Athena was curious why we were here. We agreed that Loki would probably not tell anyone anything just for the fun of it."

"And you're both probably right, all things considered," Elaine agreed. "It's something he would do."

"It is indeed." Kae grinned briefly. "But we'll see how things go. So far, everything seems okay."

"Seshat has the Library of Alexandria," Elaine blurted quickly after a few moments of silence. "Like, the library. It's supposed to be amazing."

Kae's jaw dropped. "She has the library?" she asked in an awed whisper. "But... but it doesn't exist anymore, it got burned down." She almost whimpered.

"The library," Elaine replied, nodding. "All original. Apparently the one that burned was all copies of the originals." Elaine bit her lip. "Gods, Kae, I seriously almost whimpered when she said it. It's like..." She trailed off and sighed.

Kae did whimper a little. "Oh gods I want to see," she whimpered.

"I do too," Elaine said. She hesitated for a moment. "She offered. Because I'm one of hers. She offered to let me see." She bit her lip.

"Oh you have to. You have to see so you can tell me how it is." Kae grinned at her. "How can you not? It's the library."

"I know, but--" Elaine sighed in frustration. "She wanted me to stay with them for the whole convention, and go see the library after. And gods help me, Kae, I almost said yes. But I don't want to ignore Loki, either."

"So talk with him about it, maybe you can split half and half. Besides, Loki still has me around, and Thor's here too, so it's not like he'll be running out of entertainment."

"It's not the entertainment I'm worried about," Elaine said. "I don't want him to feel like I'm abandoning him." Because she got the feeling that Loki had been left behind or abandoned before, and she didn't want to make him feel that way again.

"And that's where talking comes in," Kae said. "No matter what you should talk to him. I'm sure he'll want to know what you did, too."

"We'll see," Elaine said reluctantly. "If it comes up, I'll say something."

"Alright." Kae rolled her eyes. She thought Elaine should just talk to Loki anyway, but she couldn't make Elaine talk. Oh well.

Elaine was thankful that the 'end' of the day came a bit earlier in the evening than she thought it would. She was looking forward to flopping over in bed.

Loki went back to their room a little while after the day had ended, and he knocked on the doorframe.

"Elaine. What did you talk about with the Egyptians?"

Elaine almost hesitated.

"A few things," she said. "They wanted me to tag along with them. Seshat wanted to show me the library after everything is said and done." She glanced at him.

"I see." Loki was quiet for a few moments working on controlling his temper. She was still one of his, even if she did have other gods. "So I suppose you'll be going with them tomorrow."

"I--Maybe," Elaine said. She looked at him. "I told them that I was here with someone else, and I can't spend the entire time with them." Even as much as she wanted to. And it may have cost her a trip to the Library of Alexandria. That part did hurt.

Loki blinked. Okay, he hadn't been expecting that. "I see," he said after a moment. "You turned down their offer because you were already here with me?" He even sounded faintly surprised.

"It didn't seem right to just up and go with them when the only reason I'm here in the first place is because you invited me," Elaine pointed out. She hesitated a little. "I do want to go. But I don't want to just leave."
