Bruce was a little surprised to hear his phone go off. He wasn't used to getting calls at all. When he saw the name on the display, though, he smiled warmly and picked up. "Kae?"

"Hey Bruce. Thought I'd check in and see how you're doing." Kae grinned. "You haven't shut yourself in your lab have you?"

"I'm not in the lab at the moment," Bruce replied. "My room is safest right now, I think. Tony and Clint have been going at each other lately."

"Yeah, I heard something about a prank war," Kae said with a little grin. "You know you should wait until they're at each other's throats and then just beat 'em both at their own game."

"It's tempting," Bruce admitted. "But I would rather be able to wash my hands of the entire issue and just watch."

"Watching is fun too," Kae admitted. "See if you can get Jarvis to give you some videos of the two of them pranking each other. I want to see when I get back."

"I'll see what I can do," Bruce promised. "Have you been enjoying yourself at the... what did you call it, a convention?"

"Basically a convention, yeah. It's fun. I've seen a lot of gods here that I never thought I would. It's a little mind boggling, actually." Kae grinned. "Elaine found out that her gods actually do recognize her and they played dress-up with her earlier today."

Bruce couldn't help but chuckle a bit at that.

"I see," he said. He briefly wondered what Steve would think of that. The soldier had been a little down since Elaine had been gone, to the point even Tony noticed.

"I wish you could have come. But it wouldn't have been pretty. I think my jolly green giant would have been to tempted to smash puny gods." Kae grinned.

"It's a good thing I didn't go with you," Bruce agreed. "The Other Guy still isn't all that pleased with the thought of any god besides Thor."

"Yeah, I figured. Oh well. I'll tell you more when I get back." Kae leaned against the balcony railing. "And everything else is okay there? Tony hasn't starved the Hulk fish has he?"

"The Hulk fish are fine," Bruce said, chuckling. "It's strange, everyone has sort of taken to looking after them."

Kae snickered. "That's because they're just that damn awesome," she said with a grin. "I mean, come on. Hulk fish? Just awesome. Way better than piranhas."

"There are ten of them now," Bruce commented. "Honestly, one would have been enough, I don't see why Tony felt the need to create ten."

Kae laughed. "This is Tony we're talking about," she reminded him. "He never does anything by halves. He goes all out."

"True," Bruce said. "Very true." He was quiet for a moment, just enjoying Kae's presence on the other end of the line. "It's been mostly quiet, aside from the prank war. Tony's been spending a lot of time in his workshop, Steve has been in the gym most of the time, Natasha's been gone since yesterday. It's almost peaceful, aside from the random outbursts of profanity."

"Yeah, well, almost peaceful is about as good as it gets there," Kae said with a little grin. "Can't expect too much quiet of Tony, after all. He starts to go crazy without noise."

"That, or it's the calm before the technological storm," Bruce pointed out. "Which is pretty likely, in this case."

Kae sighed. "Yeah, probably. You might have to lock your door at night so you don't get dragged in. And you better not become a casualty or I'll have to strangle my cousin."

Bruce chuckled.

"I'll be careful," he promised.

"Good." Kae was quiet for a few moments. "I'll be back in a few days."

"I'll be here waiting," Bruce said. "Try to come back in one piece, alright?" He grinned a bit.

Kae laughed quietly. "Only if you don't let the two idiots get to you," she shot back with a grin.

"I'll stay in one piece if you do," Bruce bargained with a grin.
