"Sounds like a deal." Kae grinned. "See you soon, Bruce." For a moment she was tempted to ruin the surprise about Thor, but then she decided against it. She wanted to see his expression.

"See you soon," Bruce said. "Sleep well."

"You too. Night." Kae hung up and sighed briefly before heading back inside to settle in for the night again.

"So how's Bruce?" Elaine asked when she heard Kae come back in. She had turned off her implants for the moment, just relaxing on the bed and enjoying the quiet.

"Good. Trying to stay out of the prank war." Kae grinned. "But still watching from the sidelines being amused. He said he'll get Jarvis to record anything really good for us."

"Oh good," Elaine said, grinning. "I'll get Claudia to get it for me, then." She stretched a bit and sighed, absently touching the bracelet that Steve had given her for Christmas. She rarely took it off.

Kae smiled when she saw that, going over to her bed to settle down for the night.

Elaine enjoyed the convention, she really did, but by the end of it she was really just glad to be going back home. She was exhausted. She'd been to conventions before, and she would confidently say that none had been as tiring as the god-convention.

Although, to be fair, she couldn't help but snicker every time she saw someone in a pantheon walking away with a puppy tucked under their arm and muttering. She tried, and failed, to not giggle when Thoth and Seshat said goodbye with a little jackal pup trying to squirm his way to the ground. Horus, apparently, had been one of the happy-snuggly drunks.

Loki walked over to the girls with Thor under one arm, the little golden pup wriggling and trying to escape.

"Here. Hold on to him for a while." He dumped Thor on Elaine with a wicked little smirk, clearly still pleased and smug about his little prank. It would wear off in a day or two, but until then he was enjoying every second.

Elaine took the puppy and rolled her eyes a bit. At least Loki was in a good mood, that was something. She scratched behind Thor's ears until the puppy settled down, and then she tucked him under one arm and grabbed her suitcase with the other hand.

Kae grinned as she followed Loki out of the hotel so he could take them all back to the Tower.

"We're back!" she called once they made it inside.

It took Tony only seconds to appear, grinning at them. "Took you long enough. We were starting to wonder if you got eaten or something."

"Nope," Elaine said as she set her bag against the wall. "I got to be a dress-up doll, though." She smiled brightly when she saw Steve come into the room, and she set Thor down on the floor. The little golden pup immediately began to bounce around to everyone, clearly delighted to see everyone and more than a little hyperactive.

Tony was quiet for a moment. "Kae, why do we have another puppy? I am not letting another dog live here, we already have two."

"Aww, you'd kick out Thor? Poor guy. He's so happy to see you and everything." Kae smirked.

"That's Thor?" Clint demanded, dropping down from an air duct.

Steve tried hard not to snicker, going over to Elaine and hugging her.

Elaine snuggled into Steve's hug, immediately relaxing.

"I missed you," she said to him softly.

Bruce heard the commotion and made his way into the room just in time to hear the bit about Thor. He almost assumed that it was strictly Loki's idea, but then his brain caught up with the rest of him and he glanced at Kae, one eyebrow raised.

"Missed you too." Steve held her there for several moments before he loosened his hold a little, enough that he could look her over quickly. "So I guess you had fun."

Kae grinned innocently and pointed at Loki. Nope, he was totally taking the blame for it, even if she and Elaine had kind of provided the idea.

"Lots of fun." Elaine grinned. "And every group apparently went home with at least one puppy."

"Alright, I suppose I have to be the one to ask," Bruce said. "Why is Thor a dog?"

"Because a bunch of gods got drunk last night and flopped over in a giant puppy cuddle pile. And then somehow mysteriously got turned into puppies," Kae said with a big grin.

Steve couldn't help but snicker. "How many total?"

"Just over a dozen," Loki said, brushing imaginary lint from his jacket sleeve, smirking.

"And it's all in good fun and mostly completely harmless," Elaine added. She grinned. "I swear, nobody even blinked. They just picked up the appropriate puppies and left."

"At least we assume they were the appropriate puppies," Kae pointed out. "It's not like they come with nametags or anything."

Loki snickered a little at that.

"Hey, Thoth and Seshat left with Horus, that's all I need to know," Elaine said, holding up her hands. "And we got Thor, so it's all good. Any mix-ups should be fixed by the end of the week."

"But will be talked about for the next several years," Loki said, perhaps a little too gleefully.

Kae had to go sit on the couch so she didn't just fall over laughing, trying hard to muffle it with her hand. It wasn't working so well.

"I'll bet," Elaine said, grinning. She leaned against Steve a bit.

Bruce just sighed and shook his head, although there was a faint smile on his face.

"I guess Thor is going to be making friends with Bran and Bucky for a couple days, then," he said.

Steve shook his head and kept his arms around Elaine, undeniably amused by the whole situation.

Tony went to go grab a bottle of scotch because, really, Thor as a puppy? Yeah, that needed a drink to go with it. Only the bottle floated out of his reach.

"Loki," he growled.

"I'm not doing that."

"Hey, just because you all forget I can do this doesn't mean I haven't." Kae grinned and floated the bottle over to her.

Elaine couldn't help but laugh a bit, and she snuggled closer to Steve.

"Well, right now all I want to do is go relax," she said. "I'm exhausted."

Steve nodded. "Let's get your things down to your room, then," he said quietly, picking up her suitcase easily so he could carry it down to her room for her.
