Bruce chuckled.

"He does that," he agreed, nodding. "Somehow the lectures always seem more stern in a British accent."

"They do, they really do," Kae said with a little shiver. "Although I don't know if he'd exactly approve of me using my ability to pour myself a drink, but hey. Practice is practice right?"

"It's true," Bruce agreed. He shrugged a bit. "I wouldn't be too worried about Charles. I doubt he'd say anything about it."

"Unless I start pranking people a little too much, yeah," Kae said with a little shrug. "I'm still surprised everyone took it as well as they did."

"I think everyone here has seen worse before," Bruce pointed out.

"True," Kae conceded, floating down a mug with water and his favorite tea. After a few long moments of concentration, the water started to steam gently, and she grinned broadly.

Bruce's eyebrows went up at that.

"Now I'm impressed," he said.

"That's the first time I've been able to do it without spilling the water," Kae admitted. "That I've been working on for a while. I can almost make ice too now. Almost."

"That's pretty amazing," Bruce said, grinning a bit.

Kae blushed a little at his praise. "It's not that great," she mumbled. "I mean, Jean can do way more, and it's taking me longer than I thought it would to get everything straight."

"Jean, as far as I know, has also been at it since she was a child," Bruce pointed out. "For having less than a year of practice, it's amazing." Going over, he put an arm around her waist. "I can't imagine having the kind of power you do."

Kae blushed a little more at that, ducking her head. "Really, Bruce," she mumbled. "It's not like Thor or Clint or anything. I mean Clint practically has a hitting the target mutation, and no I'm not actually that serious about that, it's just the easiest way to explain it. And Thor and Loki are gods, they have way more power than I do. This is just... I dunno. Helpful? Practically nothing compared to you lot."

"Clint is mostly deaf," Bruce pointed out. "That's why his eyesight is so good. And like you said, Thor and Loki are gods. I kind of figure they don't count." Bruce gently kissed her forehead. "So I think you need to trust me on this one."

Kae relaxed a little and smiled faintly. "Alright, I'll trust your judgment," she agreed, nestling in closer to him.

"Good," Bruce said, smiling a bit. He pulled her a bit closer and tugged her over to sit on the couch so they could relax for a bit.

Kae let him, settling in next to him with a happy sigh. Yeah, she'd missed this while they were at the convention.

Bruce just sat there with her, enjoying the contact and the quiet. Yeah, he'd missed this too.

When Kae caught herself nodding off on Bruce, she figured it was time to get to bed, and she got up with a little yawn.

"Bedtime," she said quietly, raising an eyebrow at him to see if he'd come too.

Bruce let her get up first, and then nodded.

"I think it's a good idea," he said. Getting up himself, he gestured for her to go first.

Kae nodded and led the way down to her room and shucking her jeans to get settled into bed, waiting impatiently for Bruce to settle down so she could octopus around him.

Bruce settled down in bed with her, smiling indulgently when she clung to him.

Elsewhere in the tower, Elaine was settling down for the night as well.

Kae got comfortable there and sighed, settling down. "Comfy?" she asked quietly.

Steve settled down behind her, draping one arm over her loosely and yawning briefly. He was still getting back to a normal sleep schedule.

"I could ask you the same thing," Bruce replied softly, pulling her a bit closer.

Elaine smiled and bit and snuggled closer to Steve. Turning a bit, she kissed him.

"Mmhm." Kae settled in there, practically draped across him now. "Missed this while I was at the convention."

Steve blinked but returned it gently, keeping his arm around her.

"I missed it, too," Bruce admitted. "The bed seemed too empty with just me in it."

Elaine kissed him a bit more.

"I missed you while I was gone," she said to him. She nudged him a bit so she could drape herself over him and kissed him again.
