I'm still legally blind, I can't learn how to drive. Because no matter how good the prosthetic, Elaine still legally (and naturally) couldn't see.

Tony shrugged after a minute. There wasn't really anything he could do about the law, unless he wanted to sic his lawyers on them and see if they could find a way for her to be able to drive. But he had the feeling that might not be the best course of action.

Do you want to drive? Or are you fine with someone driving you?

I don't mind hitching rides. I've been doing it for ten years. It wasn't really a big deal, for her. After a moment, she snickered. You didn't see it but I just shrugged.

Yeah, no, didn't see it, Tony texted back. And I need to stop texting while I'm working on the car before I start putting phone parts in my car.

Elaine just snickered.

I hear cars come with those standard now. She couldn't resist that little tease.

Not in the undercarriage and motor they don't. Tony finished up underneath the car and slid himself out, popping the hood to fiddle with something with the engine.

Details. Elaine was quiet for a moment, just watching. So, anyone else think that Loki's been behaving better lately?

Tony finally got fed up with texting and, since he was done working for the moment, motioned for Jarvis to cut the music.

"He has been behaving recently," Tony said, pushing the top back down and patting the hood briefly before he went to go sit on one of the tables.

"Ah, I can hear again," Elaine joked as she put her phone away. "Anyways, what are your thoughts? Since I know nobody else but Thor really even likes him."

"Trying to stay on parole?" Tony guessed. "That or biding his time until his powers fully return, one of the two."

Elaine shrugged.

"I don't think there's a right or wrong answer, I was just curious what you thought. I'd probably bet on him actually trying to keep to his parole, that's what it seems like to me," she said.

Tony shrugged. "You've spent more time with him than I have. You're the resident expert." He pulled up a set of holograms, looking them over with half his attention. "But if he pulls any shit here, he's not staying here."

"He hasn't yet," Elaine pointed out. She paused. "The... puppy trick nonwithstanding."

"That wasn't pulling shit, that was pulling a prank that everyone could appreciate." Tony shrugged. "That I'm okay with." For the moment, anyway. But the fact that Loki was getting his powers back was making him the least bit nervous.

Elaine snickered.

"I was tempted to ask him to do that to my brother, but I doubt my parents would appreciate it," she said. She sighed a bit. "It would have been hysterical, though."

Tony snorted. "It would have been," he agreed. "But there's probably a reason we can't turn siblings or family members into animals anyway."

"Yeah, the reason being 'we're not magic,'" Elaine said, grinning a bit. Then she paused. "That's right, I wanted to look into that..."

"No magic testing in my tower," Tony said immediately. "Or my house. Or on any of my things."

"Relax," Elaine said. "It's not even a vague idea yet. I just said I want to look into it. I don't even know if it's possible or not."

Tony grumped. "If my little cousin can suddenly in her 20's develop a mutation then anything can happen," he pointed out.

"Now that I've looked into," Elaine said, grinning. "It might have seemed spontaneous, but it wasn't. According to my research, admittedly a lot of which came out of papers written by Professor Xavier, it was always there, just dormant and waiting for the appropriate trigger."

Tony paused, thinking that over. Okay, yeah, that made a sort of sense. "Alright, so not random, just sudden," he admitted. "Why does it not surprise me that you were researching that?"

"I'm a researcher by profession, I live for information," Elaine said with a grin. "And Kae is my best friend. Of course I researched it."

Tony rolled his eyes and grabbed a towel to wipe his hands off. "Dummy, go make yourself useful and make a few smoothies or something," he scolded when the bot whirred over to poke at a hologram. "Go on, shoo." Dummy whirred over to the blender and started putting things in. "Dummy, no, how many times do I have to-- Oh man. You might not want to drink this one. Dummy, do we need to get out the edible/not edible list again?"

Elaine tried. She really did. But she still ended up bursting out laughing.
