Dummy made smoothies and brought them over before happily whirring off to make another set, this time with all human compatible ingredients.

"Motor oil, wheatgrass, rum, fish oil, and spinach. I think I'll pass on this one." Tony took his over to the sink, making a face. "Useless pile of bolts."

"Strawberry-bannana, Dummy!" Elaine called, setting the first smoothie off to the side. She grinned. "He tries so hard to impress you, though. It's adorable."

"Well, he's my bot," Tony grumbled. "He should try to impress me." But his voice was a little softer behind the bluster.

Elaine just grinned. She could tell Tony loved his bots.

"But anyways, yeah," she said, changing the subject, "totally going to look into magic because that's pretty much every childhood dream ever come true."

"Then you had a weird childhood," Tony said bluntly, watching Dummy bring over the new smoothies, which were indeed fit for human consumption. He took a sip of his and grinned at the hint of wheatgrass in there.

Elaine shrugged.

"I think everyone's weird as a kid," she said. She took a sip of the smoothie, made a bit of a face, and took another sip. "I happened to be one of those little girls who liked stories about magic more than I liked stories about princesses and damsels in distress." She grinned. "And now just think, there's a sorcerer two floors down from me."

Tony snorted. "Yeah, you're going to start asking questions soon," he guessed, glancing at her before going back to his smoothie. "Just don't piss him off enough that he destroys part of the Tower. Pepper will kill me if we have to remodel again so soon."

"Loki likes showing off what he knows," Elaine commented. "He likes people acknowledging the fact that he knows his shit. I don't think he'll mind questions about magic."

"Probably not, but even still. Don't piss him off. I've had enough pissed off gods for the rest of my life." Tony snorted and finished off his smoothie, going to go put that glass in the sink too. He was forbidden from doing dishes though; it never ended well.

"I'll try," Elaine said. "Don't worry about it." Once she finished her own smoothie, she followed his lead and put the glass into the sink.

Tony was already back at work figuring out new arrows for Clint. He had a project in the back of his head about modifying Cap's suit some, to make it easier for him while still protecting him, and Widow's weapons were next on his list for upgrades.

After a little while of watching, Elaine got bored and left the workshop again. This time, though, she went to go find Loki. She wasn't lying when she said she wanted to look into learning magic.

Loki was lounging in the living room area of his floor, idly tossing a ball of green light back and forth between his hands. He was kind of really bored.

"Well, you look like you could use a distraction," Elaine said from the entrance of the living room area. "Mind if I come in?"

"Make yourself comfortable." Loki tossed the light up into the air, and it vanished. "I find I am rather... lacking in entertainment."

"Well, I don't know if I'll be entertaining, but I'll see what I can do," Elaine said as she sat down. "I was curious about something, and as you seem to be the resident expert in the information I'm looking for, here I am."

"Tricks or magic?" Loki asked smoothly, because those were his two areas of expertise, after all.

"Yes," Elaine replied promptly, grinning a bit. "Although I was mainly going to ask about magic."

"What is it you wish to know?" Loki leaned forward a little, more interested now.

"Everything I can," Elaine replied honestly. "The idea was brought up a while ago that it might be possible to learn? If it is possible, I'd really like to."

Loki looked at her for several long moments. "Most humans have the ability," he said eventually. "Not very much ability, but some. Long ago, all humans could use magic. Now you have all forgotten what magic is, let alone how to use it. You may be able to learn. You may not. I cannot say at present."

"Then I want to try," Elaine said. "It's worth a shot, and at the very least it'll keep you from getting bored."

"Unfortunately, I am not sure as to how a human would begin learning magic," Loki said with a fluid shrug. "Once you know how, I can teach you, but as I am not human I do not have the correct frame of reference to teach you how to start."

"So if I can learn the basics, then you'll teach me?" Elaine clarified.

"If that is what you wish, yes." Loki raised an eyebrow at her. "But make sure that is what you want."
