Bruce smiled a little and nodded, waiting until she'd left to grab his phone and see if he still had Strange's number programmed in. If the sorcerer could be bothered to use something so mundane as his cell phone, anyway.

While Strange rarely used a cell phone, a landline was much more reliable in his residence, and that's where Bruce's call went through.

"This is Stephen Strange," he answered.

"Hello again, Dr. Strange. This is Bruce Banner." Bruce smiled a little. "I'm a little surprised you answered."

"Ah, Dr. Banner," Strange said, "it is always a pleasure to speak with you. You have caught me on a quiet day. What can I help you with?"

Bruce was quiet for a moment figuring out how to phrase it. "A... friend of mine is curious about what you do, and she wants to know if she can learn." There, that was fair diplomatic.

"A friend of yours?" Strange asked. "Is this one of those young women I've heard about of late, the ones who have been seen with your... companions?"

"Most likely," Bruce agreed. "I suspect you'll meet both of them next time you're at the Tower."

"I see." Strange contemplated that for a second. "Then I suppose I need to move that visit up a little. It would be best to see this friend of yours for myself."

"Of course. Whenever is convenient for you." Because unless they got called out for something there was always at least one Avenger at the Tower.

"Within the week, more than likely," Strange replied. "If you're sure this young woman wants to learn, then I don't think it would be wise to leave her on her own for too long."

"Probably not," Bruce agreed. "Just try to give me some warning so I can warn Tony. Or get him out of the Tower for the day."

"Of course, my friend," Strange replied. He wouldn't just show up unannounced, he wouldn't do that to Bruce.

Bruce smiled a bit. "I look forward to seeing you."

"Until then, my friend," Strange said. With that, he hung up.

Bruce hung up as well and sent off a quick text to Elaine.

Strange agreed to come, sometime in the next week or so.

Elaine blinked. That was fast.

Really? Thanks, Bruce!

Bruce chuckled quietly and slipped his phone back in his pocket so he could get back to work.

Less than a week later, Elaine found herself down in Tony's workshop, sitting quietly on a table while he worked up some upgrades for her. She didn't mind not being able to see for a while, since she'd managed to get Tony to keep the music turned down, so she just sat there and asked the occasional question.

Tony was in the middle of installing the upgrades when he heard the door open. He didn't even bother turning to look.

"Kinda busy right now, it'll have to wait."

"I see this," Strange said, leaning against the doorway. "If I might inquire as to what you're doing?"

Tony swore. "You're here? Already?" he grumbled, half-turning to glower at Strange. "I'm fiddling with things mechanical that you don't like, now shoo before you short-circuit them."

"I was told that I might find a prospective student down here," Strange replied. He nodded to Elaine. "Her, I suspect." He did, however, take a few steps back. Tony was right in thinking that short-circuits were a possibility.

"Yeah," Tony grumbled. "She's the prospective student, and my idiot cousin is probably going to watch or pepper you with questions, one of the two." He made a satisfied noise as the upgrades finished loading, and he ran a few quick tests and added some override protocols and cooldown protocols and things before he finished. "Alright, Elaine, all done."

"Thanks, Tony," Elaine said, switching her implants back on and letting everything come into focus. Once she was sure everything was working, she turned around. "You must be Dr. Strange. I'm Elaine Morissey."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Morissey. Dr. Banner mentioned that you were interested in learning from me?" Strange stayed on the other side of the doorway. While it was fun to annoy Tony with his presence, he didn't actually want to kill any of the tech.
