Elaine blinked at that as well. That was unexpected. Tony didn't usually bullshit like that, either.

Kae snorted and shook her head, picking up the leftover plates, most of them with telekinesis, and went to go pile them all carefully in the sink.

Loki watched with bright eyes before turning her attention back to Elaine.

Elaine pondered the idea of an Iron Man (Maiden?) suit for Kae for a moment longer before shaking her head.

"Right, mythology," she said. "Let's go back out to the balcony, just in case it gets turned into an impromptu magic lesson."

"Of course," Loki said with grace. "Kae, stay around if you would. I would like to talk to you about mutations."

Kae blinked. "Yeah, sure."

Loki nodded and led the way out to the balcony.

Once they were out on the balcony, Elaine sat down with a bit of a sigh.

"It's nice out here..." she commented. She waited for the other two, and once they were sitting as well, she looked at Loki. "So. Questions." She grinned. "Is it true you tricked Thor into a wedding dress?"

Loki grinned broadly. "Only once," she said, tipping her head back to look up at the stars. "It was quite the occasion. Of course, we were both a bit younger then. It was long enough ago that he looked a few years younger in humans terms than he does now." Loki's smile widened.

Elaine snickered. She had figured that one was true, it was just too funny not to be.

"What else have you done like that?" she asked.

"Oh, I've pulled many such pranks. One rather memorable time I had Thor keep Sif distracted while I switched all her clothes for skirts and low-cut tops." Loki grinned briefly. "She threatened to eviscerate and geld both of us for it when she emerged the next morning in a skirt."

Elaine couldn't help but snicker.

"All things considered, I don't blame her," she said. "But it still must have been priceless."

Loki smirked. "Indeed." That grew into a full-blown grin. "And I'm sure you're wondering about some other specific myths, fueled by the fact that I have said I have been female before."

"A couple of names do come to mind," Elaine admitted. She eyed Loki's expression warily. "I was trying to find a tactful way to bring them up." She paused for a moment. "What about Sleipnir, then? And Jormungandr, and Fenrir, and Hela?"

"They all exist," Loki said, still not upset. "And yes, they are all mine. The myth of Sleipnir is true enough."

Elaine blinked.

"But you know, I'm not surprised," she said. "But that's kind of fascinating all the same."

Loki nodded. "Thor is still occasionally surprised by my children," she said with a brief grin.

Elaine couldn't help but grin a bit at that.

"You'd think that out of everyone, he would be the least surprised," she commented. "Now, the mythology says that Jormungandr is somewhere in Midgard's oceans. True?"

"...Sometimes," Loki replied, a little reluctantly. "He can take human form. All my children can."

Elaine blinked. And blinked again. And then grinned.

"Oh that's fun," she said. "I should have expected something like that."

"You should have," Loki agreed mildly. "They are, after all, my children. Last I checked, Hela was somewhere around this realm, she likes to visit."

"That's..." Elaine trailed off. "Kind of awesome and mildly frightening at the same time. Does Thor know that?"

"I don't know." Loki shrugged. "If he does, he has yet to mention it."

"It wouldn't surprise me much either way," Elaine admitted. She considered all of the new information for a moment. It was a lot more than she'd hoped to get. "You really don't mind me asking so many questions like this?"

"No," Loki said with a little shrug. "I'd rather you ask than assume things. I have a bad enough reputation without more assumptions floating around."

"I suppose that's one way to look at it," Elaine admitted.

Loki smiled faintly, a little self-deprecating smile. Then she shrugged and got up.

"Now, if you don't have any more questions for the moment, I believe I will go do some research on humans with mutations."

"I've done some research, if you want to see it," Elaine offered. "I gathered up a bunch of scientific papers and a couple of books. It might be enough to keep you busy for at least a little while." Because she knew how fast Loki tended to read.
