Steve blinked, a little startled at that. "Really? I guess he's learning to do more things now. He's adapting surprisingly well."

"Yeah," Elaine said. "It's not a bad thing." She got up from the arm of the chair. "Come on, go get your new pencils and see what all you have for colors."

Steve nodded and went with her to pick up the package. He took his time opening it and looking at the colors, cataloguing them where he'd find them later. He'd gotten a variety of colors, including a few he was running low on.

Elaine blinked.

"Should I ask what you need ten shades of blue for?" she asked, looking at all the different colors.

"Well, this one is the perfect shade for Tony's Arc," Steve said, pointing to one. "And this one is the shade of the sky at noon, and this one just before sunset." He smiled a little. "And so on."

"I see," Elaine said. "I don't see a difference in maybe six of them, but I'm probably not looking hard enough." She smiled a bit. "Although when I was little, I was always fond of the particular blue of the sky in late October. There was just something about it that I loved. And the intense indigo-blue of the sky just after the sun sets."

Steve hummed his agreement. "One of these days I'm going to draw the Tower right after sunset, when it's all lit up."

Elaine smiled.

"I'm sure it'll look amazing," she said.

Steve smiled. "I'll be sure to show you," he said. "So I can get your opinion. Tony will probably like it too."

Elaine nodded.

"I'm sure he will," she said. She leaned up and gave him a kiss. "I'm so lucky I ended up with such a talented boyfriend," she said, grinning a bit.

Steve chuckled and kissed her again quickly. "I'm not the only one who's talented."

"I have nothing on you, trust me," Elaine said with a bit of a smile. "I wish I could draw the way you do."

"And you do magic," Steve pointed out with a little smile. "I think we're even."

"Yeah, but that's not something I can show normal people," Elaine pointed out with a bit of a smile. "You can show your drawings to people and not have it be something they freak out over." She paused. "Well. The drawings fit for public, anyways."

Steve laughed quietly. "Like I said, some of these are just for me." He shot her a grin.

"Good," Elaine said. She gave him another kiss.

Steve returned it, more than content with how things were turning out. This was definitely a 'life is good' moment.

Elaine broke the kiss briefly when she got a text. When she opened it, she snorted. It read:

Seriously, enough with the flirting, already, honestly.

It was from Tony. Elaine couldn't help but snicker at it.

Steve blinked and raised his eyebrows. "What?" he asked. Because he hadn't read the text.

"Tony," Elaine said, showing him the text. "I'm tempted to start hexing out cameras, but that's probably a bad idea."

"Probably," Steve agreed with a little grin. "But I know there aren't any in our rooms, or the bathrooms, so those are safe."

"True," Elaine said. She leaned up and kissed him again, smiling a bit. "Lucky for us."

"Indeed," Steve murmured, giving her another kiss. He would have been content to do that for a while longer, but it was the living room in the middle of the day.

Elaine didn't mind one bit. It wasn't as if anyone else was in the room with them, and Tony didn't have to spy on them through the cameras.

Steve ended up staying there with Elaine for the rest of the afternoon, though he did eventually get back to his drawing. He did look over when Bruce came up to cook dinner, raising an eyebrow at the doctor in silent question.
