"To his Arc, you mean?" Kae was quiet for a moment. "Ask him if you can borrow one of his old ones and test. He'd probably like to know the results anyway, since magic seems to be occurring more and more frequently around us."

"I'm not so much worried about the Arc as I am about his shiny new bio-tech," Elaine said. "With the virus and all. If it turned him into a living computer, you know, what would magic end up doing?"

"A good point, and one I'd make him aware of," Kae said with a little shrug. "It'll help keep him distracted, and you two can test in a controlled environment."

"If he's not already pondering the issue," Elaine said with a snort. "He's probably been listening to the entire conversation."

"True. If he shainghai's you into service for that tomorrow I'm going to laugh." Kae grinned. "Anyway, I should let you go so I can call Bruce before I pass out for the night."

"You do that," Elaine said. "And, you know, maybe consider actually coming back in a few days." She was mostly teasing. Mostly.

Kae snorted. "Oh trust me, I'm planning on coming back either Wednesday night or Thursday morning."

"Good," Elaine said. "Wouldn't want them to assimilate you entirely."

"Don't worry, I said I'd come back, and I'm going to. I don't know if I could handle living her full-time, anyway." Kae flopped over on her bed and got comfortable there for the moment.

"You just said you loved it there," Elaine pointed out. "Pretty straightforward track for the Logic Train from there."

"True," Kae allowed. "But living here? Oh man." She grinned. "Let's just say I'm not ready for that yet."

"Alright," Elaine said. "Well, you go on and call Bruce." She grinned wickedly. "I'll go down and make sure Tony's not listening in if you decide you want to tell Bruce all the naughty things you plan on doing to him when you get home."

Kae stifled a snicker. "I probably shouldn't," she said, though she was grinning devilishly. "Not with kids around." She paused for a moment. "But if I do, it was totally your idea."

"I'll deny it," Elaine replied. "I will deny every word."

Kae laughed. "Go distract Tony for a while, and I'll call you again tomorrow night."

"You'd better, or I'll spam you with texts all day afterwards, and I'll make Tony help. He can brain-ping your phone every thirty seconds, I bet." Elaine grinned. "I'll talk to you later."

"Later." Kae hung up, grinning, and then called Bruce.

"Hey sweetie, how was your day?"

"Kae," Bruce greeted warmly. "I spent most of the day in the labs. It was rather quiet, actually. Yours?"

"Crazy but kind of awesome at the same time." Kae grinned. "The kids here are awesome, Bruce."

"Tell me about them," Bruce invited, settling in to listen.

Kae ended up telling him pretty much everything that had happened that day, laying on her bed.

"It's just neat here. I'm almost as comfortable here as I am at the Tower, which is odd, and I know I shouldn't be yet, but I am."

"I'm glad you're fitting in," Bruce said. And he was being honest, he really was glad she was doing fine. That didn't mean he didn't miss her, however.

Kae smiled a bit. "Would be better if you were here," she said quietly. "I've got this big lonely bed all to myself."

"I could say the same," Bruce replied. He was quiet for a moment. "The Other Guy is restless. He misses having you around, I think."

"Two more days and I'll be back," Kae said quietly. "And then you can have me all to yourself for a while."
