No sooner had Tony's text gone through than her phone pinged at her in a Tony-deemed-appropriate sound.

Cheater. Although Elaine couldn't help but snicker at it.

Or a tablet or a phone or even an iPod. Elaine paused for a moment. So how much of the phone call were you listening to?

Most of it. Tony shrugged, starting to run a few diagnostics while he was texting her. Why?

Curious. We figured you'd be listening in. Elaine was still working on a tactful way to ask if he had any idea how he would react to magic now.

Yes, I was, and you both were right about us needing to test Extremis with magic now, so we'll know. I'd rather not find out in the middle of a fight.

Yeah, that would be bad. Elaine had to agree with that. She was quiet for a moment, thinking. Next scheduled magic lesson is tomorrow. What say you?

Tony snorted and shook his head.

Alright. It's late, go make sure Steve gets some sleep eventually tonight.

I will. Where is he, the gym? Elaine didn't bother telling Tony to make sure to sleep; she knew he likely wouldn't.

Yeah, he's been there for a while. Gone through two punching bags so far. I should get him a treadmill or something.

Let him have his stress relief. Inwardly, though, Elaine worried a little. Steve only went to the punching bags when something was bothering him. I'll go see what's up.

You do that. And I'll pretend not to know exactly what you two are up to when you go back to your room. Tony grinned.

With that, Elaine went towards the gym to see what was up with Steve.

Steve was still in the gym, but he was taking a break at the moment, sitting on a bench. He'd been trying to work off enough energy to sleep.

Elaine walked over to him.

"Everything alright?" she asked. "Tony told me you were down here."

"Yeah. I just can't seem to settle down." Steve smiled a bit. "Don't worry about it."

"Telling me not to worry about it won't help," Elaine pointed out, grinning just a little. "You don't usually attack the punching bags unless something is bothering you."

"There's been a lot going on the past few months," Steve pointed out, grimacing a bit.

"I know there has," Elaine said, sitting down next to him. "Talk to me?"

Steve settled an arm over her after a moment. "I'm worried about Tony," he admitted quietly. "Not to mention things have been too quiet around here. Fury hasn't called us in a while."
