"I don't think so," Elaine said as she stood up carefully. "But I appreciate it." She touched her stomach gently, although there was no outward sign of her pregnancy yet. "Hopefully the baby will be a bit kinder to me soon."

"Hopefully." Steve hugged her gently, just holding her for a bit.

Elaine snuggled into his arms with a small sigh.

"I don't want to wait too long to tell everyone else," she said after a moment. "Given who lives in this tower, it won't stay a secret for too much longer, anyways. Should I say something at breakfast?"

"If not breakfast, then definitely at dinner," Steve said quietly. "That way everyone will know. Although I wouldn't be surprised if someone knew already."

"Loki does," Elaine admitted. "I'm not sure how, but he does. Tony might, if he's paid any attention at all to what's been happening in his tower for the last week. I don't know about anyone else, but you're the only one I've told so far."

Steve snorted quietly. "Well, soon everyone will know," he said quietly. "And we'll see how that works out."

"Yeah," Elaine said. She snuggled close to him. "So are you pleased? I mean about the baby?"

"Yeah, I am." Steve smiled. "It's unexpected, but not unwelcome. You know I've always wanted a kid."

"And now you'll have one," Elaine said, smiling a bit. "Phil's going to have a fit, if the media doesn't catch on first. I can just see the headlines... 'Captain America Settles Down, First Baby On The Way.'" She grinned teasingly.

Steve snorted. "They're far too interested," he said quietly. "And Phil will be okay. Actually I'll be surprised if he doesn't show up today to see Kae."

"You're a hero, they're always going to be interested," Elaine soothed. She grinned a bit. "Kae made pastries yesterday, just before everything. Phil will probably show up for breakfast."

Steve laughed quietly and shook his head. Yup, Phil would probably show up soon.

"Well, I guess I should go shower, then."

"Go ahead," Elaine said. "I'll shower after you and then we can go get some breakfast."

Steve nodded and went back into the bathroom, keeping his shower short and toweling himself dry before getting dressed.

"All yours," he told Elaine as he emerged again.

"Thanks," Elaine said. She showered quickly as well, and then went to join him. "Breakfast?" she asked hopefully.

Steve nodded and walked with her up to the kitchen, where most everyone else already was.

"What sounds good this morning?" he asked, looking over at her.

Elaine thought about it for a moment.

"A cinnamon roll?" she asked, sitting down.

"I'll see if I can find one." Steve went to go forage through the baked goods Kae had left for them. He did look over when Coulson came in, though.

Elaine glanced over as well.

"It's like the universe is trying to give me the most opportune moment," she commented when she noticed that only Kae and Bruce were still missing.

Steve snorted. "Do you want me to go grab the other two?" he asked quietly, nodding to Coulson when the agent came over to grab a pastry.

Elaine considered for a moment, and then shook her head.

"I can tell Kae later, and I'm sure she'll tell Bruce. Let them have the time with Rose."

Steve nodded and brought over the cinnamon roll for Elaine. He had another one for himself.

Clint looked interested at the conversation, and looked at them.

"What are we talking about?" he asked, nudging Tony so the genius would pay attention. This seemed both interesting and mildly important.

Steve smiled a bit and let Elaine answer. Hey, it was her body, he figured she had the right to tell them.

Tony blinked and looked up from his coffee, paying attention now.

Elaine smiled a bit, turning a little pink.

"I figured it was best to wait until now to say anything," she said. She smiled a bit more. "I'm pregnant. There'll be another baby in the tower in about eight months."
