There was shocked silence for several moments before Clint laughed.

"Another one?" he asked with a grin. "Man, it seems everyone around here has been busy."

"At least there's eight more months to prepare for this one," Elaine said, grinning and touching her stomach briefly. "And I'm sure I'll be able to get some practice in with Rose."

"Probably," Tony said with a brief grin. "Luckily for you." He stretched a bit. See, it was a good thing he still had that hospital room after all.

"You seem pretty calm about this," Elaine observed.

Clint, on the other hand, was grinning widely.

"Way to go, Cap," he said.

"For the moment," Tony agreed. "I'm still in a good mood, I guess."

Steve blushed a little but didn't reprimand Clint yet.

Elaine just nodded. She couldn't blame him for being in such a good mood still.

"So where is the little girl?" Coulson asked. Because of course he knew Kae had had a girl.

"Kae and Bruce are still upstairs with her," Clint said, taking a bite of a pastry.

"Mm." Coulson ate his own pastry slowly, enjoying it. "Is it safe to go see them or are they not allowing visitors yet?"

Clint shrugged.

"They let Tony and Elaine in last night," he said. "Worth a shot to go see."

Coulson nodded. "You and Natasha will, of course, be coming with me to give her your congratulations as well." His tone was deceptively mild.

Clint blinked.

"Oh come on, Phil, you know I'm no good around kids," he protested. "Being close to babies freaks Tasha out, too."

"I'm not asking you to hold her," Coulson pointed out reasonably. "Just come say hi, congrats, don't name us as godparents." He quirked an eyebrow.

Clint heaved a put upon sigh.

"Fine," he said. "You're going to make us do it anyways."

Natasha just quirked the faintest hint of a smile at how easily Phil was able to push Clint over.

Phil smiled just a little and nodded, finishing his breakfast before he got up and glanced at the two agents before he headed back towards Kae's room.

Clint got up and followed, as did Natasha, leaving Steve, Elaine, and Tony alone in the kitchen.

"So, you two are really going to have a kid, huh?" Tony looked at them for a moment. "No children allowed in the lab, and I leave child-proofing things to you two and Bruce and Kae."

"We're really going to have a kid," Elaine said, nodding. She grinned a bit. "I would think childproofing will be mildly easier, considering I have magic to do it and Kae's got her telekinesis." She wiggled her fingers a bit, teasingly, and let a few harmless, colored sparks of magic flicker for a moment around her hand.

Tony gave her a Look because even if she was pregnant he didn't approve of magic happening around him.

Even if he was talking to Dr. Strange fairly regularly to figure out the magic filter for Elaine's prosthetic.

Elaine ignored the Look. The sparks were harmless, and she didn't use any more magic for the moment. And they had already tested and figured out that Tony's biotech wouldn't crash because of magic.

Tony got one more cup of coffee before he got up and headed back to his lab so he could get back to work on the filters.

Elaine settled a bit closer to Steve.

"Well, now everyone knows," she said. "Or just about everyone." She grinned. "We're really going to have a little one of our own."

Steve grinned and pulled her closer, still rather absurdly pleased with life. Sure, there would be problems, but he wasn't going to think about those just then.

It was about a week later that Elaine finally had her first ultrasound. She was a little nervous, but smiled a bit when Steve squeezed her hand. Then she turned her attention to the doctor and waited for the ultrasound. She had been told she would be able to hear the little one's heartbeat, and she was looking forward to it.

The doctor moved the wand around before she smiled. She could hear two little heartbeats in there, and she moved the wand a bit and turned up the volume for the pair to listen.

Steve blinked, listening. That didn't sound like one normal heartbeat.
