"Not quite that simple. It's another form of energy, yes, but it's a form of energy that can't be seen with any tech currently available, so I'm wandering into totally uncharted territory here. Again."

"Hardly unusual at this point," Elaine pointed out. She grinned. "Besides, you like the challenge, admit it."

"I do like the challenge," Tony admitted. "This is unusual enough to keep me guessing." He grinned.

"Glad I could help," Elaine said. She grinned. "It keeps at least part of your super biotech brain busy for a while."

Tony snorted. "Well, between that and planning upgrades for Kae's leg, because she is way too hard on that thing."

"Her being pregnant might have had something to do with that," Elaine replied dryly. "You know, rapid weight gain from the baby and all."

"No, I designed that thing like my suits, weight shouldn't be a problem. I'm pretty sure it has more to do with crash-landings and being thrown across rooms." Tony snorted.

Elaine grinned.

"I'm sure you would know," she teased. She was quiet for a moment. "So aside from the magic filter, what upgrades were you actually planning for my implants?"

"Aside from that?" Tony shrugged. "Sun filtering, some things like that. I've given you all the other major ones."

"No hardware upgrades?" Elaine asked. "I guess I'm a bit surprised, you're usually all over hardware upgrades. Don't you build a new suit like once a week?"

"Something like that," Tony said after a moment. "Hardware upgrades are harder for yours, those require low-grade surgery every time. I'm saving those up so I can do those all at once."

Elaine nodded.

"Makes sense," she said. She quirked a bit of a grin. "And now you have to wait about a year, anyways." She didn't comment on how often he admitted to building Iron Man suits. She knew that was his thing, so she just let it go.

Tony shrugged. "Gives me a chance to make prototypes for you." Because unlike with him and his suits, he wasn't just going to give her a prototype and call it a day.

"True," Elaine said. She smiled a bit when Dummy rolled over happily with some smoothies.

"What is this? We didn't ask for smoothies. No, I don't need a smoothie. Dummy, no, Dummy, You does not need a smoothie, no, he can't have smoothies, Dummy..." Tony plucked the smoothie away so it didn't get dumped on another bot.

Elaine couldn't help it, she laughed.

"Clearly, all is not right with Dummy's world unless there are smoothies," she said. "Although I wouln't mind one. I've been instructed to snack throughout the day because it'll be easier than trying to have full meals once the twins really start getting bigger."

Dummy whirred happily and zoomed off to go make another one.

"Oh, look, he remembers the recipe you showed him a while back." Tony shook his head as he watched his bot, a little amazed.

"Of course he does," Elaine said. "He's a smart bot. You don't give him enough credit." She grinned. "He really does love making smoothies."

"I do too give him enough credit, I made him," Tony shot back. "But it's been a while since he's made that. And that's one of his functions now. I don't know how he managed it, but he got his functions shifted around from cleaning to making smoothies." He shook his head, even as Dummy zoomed back over with the smoothie for Elaine.

Elaine reached out and took the smoothie.

"Thanks, Dummy," she said. She grinned and took a sip. "Maybe you should upgrade him so he can vocalize and ask him," she added to Tony. "If he'll let you. Doesn't he not sit still for upgrades?"

"Not at all. He doesn't even sit still for general maintenance." Tony rolled his eyes but patted the top of Dummy's support strut. "He won't let me give him hardware upgrades."

"That's too bad," Elaine said. "I bet he has all sorts of stories to tell."

"One day I'll figure out how to make it work," Tony said with a huff. "You and Butterfingers are more cooperative."

"Maybe they could talk Dummy into it if you upgrade them first?" Elaine asked. "It's worth a shot, right?"

"I can try." But Tony sounded doubtful. Dummy could be notoriously stubborn at times.
