"I think we were going to have a lesson," Elaine mused. "But it didn't quite happen today."

Loki chuckled. "No, no actual lesson today," he agreed.

Fenris snorted. "What is Mother teaching you?"

"Magic," Elaine replied, grinning a little. "I figured I should learn from the best."

"Then you went to the right person." Fenris eyed Loki speculatively for a moment before shrugging. "Even if he's not firing on all thrusters right now."

Elaine shrugged a bit.

"I'm still learning a lot," she said.

"I'm sure. The human sorcerers I have met have been somewhat more limited." Fenris sounded faintly disdainful.

"The keyword in that phrase being 'human,'" Elaine pointed out. "One of which I am, so I work with what I've got."

"Well you can't be terrible at it or Mother wouldn't help you." Fenris shrugged. It made sense to him.

"This is true," Elaine had to admit. She looked at him. "What about you? I can't help but notice you're not enormous and furry with teeth the size of my forearm."

"I could be," Fenris said with a grin that was all teeth. "But this human guise is easier when I wander Midgard. However, other than this, I cannot do much magic. My strength is more physical and fear."

"Nothing wrong with that," Elaine said, grinning a bit. "Though you'll have to excuse me if I'm not necessarily scared."

Fenris shrugged. "I don't expect everyone to be," he said. "Besides, you're with Mother, I expect you've seen enough to not scare easily anymore."

"I guess," Elaine said. "It probably helps that I live in the same building as the Avengers."

"Is that where you've been staying?" Fenris snorted at Loki's look. "The only humans who could keep you behaving."

"Unfortunately," Loki muttered.

"It could be worse," Elaine pointed out. "And we've tried to keep him amused."

"Trying to keep him amused when he's already pouty over the loss of magic is difficult," Fenris said dryly.

"I am not pouty!"

Elaine just grinned, trying not to laugh out loud. She stretched a bit and sighed, still grinning, and absently rubbed her belly a bit.

"Feeling alright still?" Loki asked, looking at her. He didn't want to be the one facing Steve's wrath if something happened to Elaine while they were out.

"I'm fine," Elaine replied. "They're starting to get heavy." She quirked a bit of a grin. "I'm kind of expecting them to get big, they're Steve's kids, after all."

Loki hummed his agreement. "I would expect they will both be rather large, which is unfortunate for your first time."

"As long as they're healthy," Elaine said. "Although I do kind of hope they aren't too much bigger than average."

"We'll see what happens," Loki said with a brief grin. Because he knew all about wanting smaller children when pregnant.

Elaine grinned a bit as well. She knew that look by now. It was the look that said he sympathized, but was still going to tease her about it. After a moment, though, she sighed and worked on getting to her feet.

"We should head back," she said. "Steve won't be gone much longer, and I'd rather not worry him by not being there when he gets back."

"Very well." Loki stood as well, looking at Fenris. "I shall see you later."

Fenris nodded and slipped off again.

Elaine took a moment to gather her thoughts again before teleporting them back to the tower. As soon as they were back, she switched her clothes for comfortable loungewear again and settled on the couch with a sigh.
