Loki let her settle in and stayed with her to keep her company until Steve got back.

Steve went up to check on Elaine before he even took his shower, peeking in on them to make sure they were fine.

Elaine had insisted on at least a small lesson, and was working on simple illusions when Steve got back. When she heard him in the doorway, she glanced up and smiled.

"Welcome back," she said.

"Thanks. Still doing okay?" Steve smiled a bit when he saw them. They looked pretty relaxed, at least.

"Yeah," Elaine said. She smiled a bit. "We popped down to the park for a little while, but we didn't stay long. I was just feeling a bit cooped up, I wanted a bit of sun."

"You could have said something," Steve pointed out gently. "But I'm glad you got out." He smiled a bit.

"I didn't want to worry you about it," Elaine said. "You've been worrying so much already." She waved a hand at him. "Go on and shower, then we can keep talking."

Steve nodded after a moment and went back to his room to go shower and change.

"That was masterfully handled," Loki said, quirking an eyebrow at her. "Keep that up and he won't be able to hover so much."

"He's a bit more relaxed right now, since he managed to get a workout in," Elaine said. She grinned a bit. "He's not as overbearing after a workout."

Loki snorted. "Lock him in the gym next time he gets bad," he said dryly.

"I've thought about it," Elaine admitted. "But I've noticed he's up in the middle of the night three nights out of five as it is, just beating up punching bags."

"Then he needs something that fights back." Loki shrugged. "I'm sure something could be arranged."

"He spars with Thor occasionally," Elaine said. "He's stressed, with everything, and even moreso now with the little ones on the way." She was quiet for a moment. "I'll talk to him, see if he wants something to beat on aside from punching bags and your brother's face."

Loki snorted. "It is probably fortunate they both heal as quickly as they do," he said. "I know my brother enjoys little more than a good sparring partner, and he respects your captain."

"They're friends," Elaine agreed. She grinned. "I think Tony keeps trying to talk Bruce into letting Hulk spar with Thor. He thinks they'd have a great time."

"My brother has wanted a rematch since the incident on the Helicarrier." Loki snorted. "I am sure he would be pleased and honored to fight Banner's other half. And perhaps now that they have come to an understanding it will be an option."

"Maybe," Elaine said. "We might be able to get Kae to talk Bruce into it. I'll ask her."

"Good idea. She likely has the most sway with him." Loki grinned briefly. Because that was one woman whose man knew his place and knew how much he could get away with.

"I would hope so," Elaine replied, grinning a bit. She settled back on the couch to wait for Steve to come back in.

It didn't take Steve long to get back from showering, and he smiled a bit when he saw the two. They looked pretty content.

"Lesson go well?" he asked, sitting next to Elaine.

"I think so," Elaine said, tucking herself against his side. "Easy lesson today, since I got us down to the park and back, as well."

Steve nodded. That sounded fair. "Good," he said, pulling her a bit closer. "And you're still feeling fine?"

"I'm sure," Elaine said, nodding. "I mean, I could probably use a snack, but it's not an immediate, pressing need."

Steve nodded. That wasn't bad, he could work that. In a few minutes he'd go make snacks.

Elaine snuggled into his side, resting her head against his shoulder.

"How was your workout earlier?" she asked.

"Fine. There weren't a lot of people out, so it was fairly quiet." Which was good. There were some days he didn't mind being stopped for a photo or something, but today was not one of them.
