"Is this another flying car attempt? The last one didn't do so well, Howard," Peggy replied, sounding amused.

"I promise you I will perfect that, Peggy," Howard said. "But no, this is different. Better."

Peggy's eyebrows shot up. "Now isn't a good time, Howard," she said, because even though she was curious she did have duties. "I'm looking after my nephew for the weekend."

"So bring him along," Howard said. "You know I wouldn't have called if I didn't think you'd want to hear it." He was quiet for a moment. "I think I got some viable information about Steve, Peggy. And you're not going to believe where it came from."

Peggy was quiet for a moment. "We'll be there soon," she promised, already getting Phil ready to go.

"Door will be open," Howard said. "See you soon." With that, he hung up, letting Peggy get ready to go.

It didn't take Peggy long at all to get there, and she let herself and Phil in. "Howard?" she called, her heels clacking gently on the floor as she moved inside. Phil was grinning as he looked around, eyes bright.

"In here!" Howard called from the study. There were a few muffled thumps, as if he were moving books around, and then he came out. "You sure got here quick."

"Yes, well, you did make it sound vital," she said, looking at him. "What is it you've found this time?"

"This is going to sound strange, but humor me," Howard said. "Stranger than usual." He looked at her. "Do you believe that, with sufficient time and technology, time travel will eventually be possible?"

"I... don't know. I hadn't really considered it." Peggy frowned. "Why? What did you do?"

"Why are you so quick to blame me? I didn't do anything," Howard said. "It's more a matter of 'who showed up'."

Peggy's eyebrows shot up. "Howard, kindly explain this. In small, civilian-friendly words."

"I was rooting around in my warehouse," Howard said. "Don't even remember what I was looking for, some gadget. The warehouse had been locked, you know I lock up all my things. But I opened the door and two dames were in there, and they claimed to be time-travelers. And God help me, Pegs, they said they know Steve and showed me proof and I can't prove them wrong."

"They know Steve?" Peggy looked at him, her eyes wide. "How far from the future are they? Did they say? When do they get Steve back?"

"They didn't say, and I didn't push too hard to details," Howard said. "They weren't saying too much about it to start with, and when I started asking questions, they clammed up more. But I saw proof." He gestured for her to follow. "I gave them a couple of rooms here, so they should be around."

Peggy nodded, following Howard with Phil heading after them. "And you're sure they're not lying, Howard?"

"As sure as I can be," Howard replied. "One of them showed me this--I'm not sure if it was some sort of hologram or what, but it was this picture, and it moved, like a motion picture but in color, and it was of Steve, Pegs. A little older, new uniform, but it was him."

Peggy nodded, swallowing once hard. "Alright," she said. If Howard said it was true, she'd trust his word on it. "So what are we going to do now?"

"I figure you could try to talk to them," Howard said. "Maybe they'll talk to you. Get anything you can about where and when they found Steve."

Peggy nodded. "I'll see what I can do," she said. "Perhaps in the library or the sitting room?"

"Either one," Howard said. "I think one of them's in the library already."

"Excellent. Point me in the right direction. Phil, I want you to stay with Howard for a bit, okay? Howard, no weapons this time." She gave him a Look.

Howard held up his hands in surrender.

"Promise," he said. "Research only." He gestured to Phil. "Come on, kid, maybe you can help me." He looked at Peggy. "Main library, I think."

Peggy nodded and made sure Phil was fine before she strode off down the hall towards the main library. She knew where it was by now.

So Kae looked up when she heard the door open again, expecting it to be Howard back.
