"Okay, a day or so isn't bad, depending on where and when "here" is." Kae looked around again. "I've got no clues right now."

Elaine looked around as well.

"I have no idea," she said. "I don't recognize anything either. Maybe we should take a look around."

Kae nodded and started to look around carefully, going over to the nearest door and opening it. She blinked in the sudden sunlight streaming in, and it took her a few moments to see the very large manor house.

Elaine blinked as well, and looked around.

"Okay, now I really don't know where we are," she said, shading her eyes a bit.

"Nope, haven't got a clue." Kae shook her head a bit. Then she jumped a bit when someone came around the corner and spotted them.

Logan studied the two girls for a few moment before he sighed. "Alright. Inside," he told the two girls, motioning for them to follow.

Elaine blinked and glanced at Kae before following Logan.

"Chuck, honestly, you've got people showing up in your stables, now, just put a damn sign out front and be done with it," Logan said as they got inside.

"Really, Logan, I don't think it's necessary to go quite that far," Charles said, clearly amused as he rolled himself into the foyer to meet them.

Kae paused and flipped out a little bit internally, because holy shit Xavier when he was younger.

Logan raised an eyebrow at Charles, and then glanced from him to the girls and back.

"Really, Chuck?" he asked.

Charles sighed. "Yes, I suppose I see your point," he said, shaking his head. "Well. Tea, anyone?" He smiled before he wheeled himself into the kitchen.

Kae gulped but followed him after a moment, still trying to wrap her head around things.

Elaine just blinked and followed.

"Um... excuse me, but... you're just going to invite us in?" she asked. "Just like that?"

"You're not the first people to show up here," Charles said with a kind smile. "You seem to need a place to stay, for a day or two anyway."

"We do, but how...?" Elaine started. Then she stopped. "Right. Stupid question." Because of course a telepath would hear that they need a place for a day or two at the top of her thoughts.

Charles smiled and set the kettle on to boil, looking at them.

"Although I must admit I think you two are the most curious people to have stopped by."

"Curious how?" Elaine asked cautiously, watching him set the kettle to boil.

"I've never had visitors who have been misplaced from their time before." Charles smiled a bit.

Elaine blinked and then gave a nervous little smile.

"Yeah," she said. "About that. Hopefully we won't be here for more than a day or so."

"Wait a second," Logan interrupted. "Misplaced out of time?"

"It's temporary," Charles told Logan. "I am quite curious to understand how that happened."

"Um." Kae looked at Elaine, clearly wondering what to tell Charles.

Elaine looked at Charles for a moment, and then decided that lying wasn't even worth it when it wouldn't work.

"Magic," she said. "Something got a bit messed up and I thought I fixed it, but apparently not."

"Ah." Charles looked intrigued but couldn't keep questioning her immediately, instead taking the kettle off when it started to whistle and pouring the water into the pot.

"So you're on your way home now. I see."

"Right," Elaine said, nodding. "Just trying to get back."

Charles nodded. "Well, you're welcome to stay here for as long as it takes," he said. "I certainly don't mind."

"Are you sure?" Elaine asked. She glanced at Kae to make sure her friend was alright with it, as well.

"I'm quite sure. I'd offer to help, but unfortunately I have no experience with magic, and I'm afraid I'd be more of a hindrance than anything." Charles smiled at them both.

Kae nodded a bit. She trusted Charles of their time, after all, so she figured this Charles should be fine too.

Elaine nodded back to Kae, and then at Charles.

"Thanks, then," she said. "We appreciate the help."

"My pleasure." Charles smiled at them. "Logan, can you show these two to a few guest rooms?"

Kae got up and followed Logan out of the kitchen, staying quiet.
