"So, the future, eh?" Logan asked as he walked towards the guest room wing. "How'd that one happen?"

"We're still not entirely sure," Kae said with a bit of a snort. "Magic getting a little bit out of hand." She shook her head.

"Well, Chuck seems ta trust ya both well enough," Logan said. He looked at them. "Me, I'm not so sure. If ya cause trouble, I'll deal with that, understood?"

"Completely." Kae smiled thinly. "We're not here to cause trouble, and if all goes well we won't be here much longer."

Logan nodded.

"Then we understand each other," he said. He stopped at a pair of doors. "Here. Chuck usually insists on supper in the evening, warning you now."

"Yeah, he seems the type. Thanks." Kae nodded to him and picked a room, going to go sit for a few minutes to give herself a bit of time to adjust.

And then she went to go check on Elaine and make sure she was still doing okay.

Elaine was sitting in her room, just taking a moment to settle a bit. She glanced over when Kae came in.

"Hey," she said.

"Hey." Kae moved over to plop down next to her. "So, Xavier is younger and more cheerful, and Logan really hasn't changed much at all."

"I was going to ask about that," Elaine said, grinning a bit. "So, how weird is it to see Xavier with hair?"

"Very. Very, very weird." Kae shook her head. "And he's more cheerful and more... British."

Elaine grinned a bit.

"I guess he does acclimatize over time," she reasoned.

"I guess so." Kae shook her head. "Well, either way, it's kind of neat to see him now."

"Just wait till we get back home," Elaine said, grinning. "Didn't you say you'd go back to teaching?"

"Yeah, once Rose is a bit older," Kae said with a brief grin. "He'll probably remember."

"That'll be fun," Elaine said, grinning. Then she paused. "Oh god, what about Coulson? He'll probably remember."

"Another thing we need to question him about when we get home," Kae said with a brief grin.

"And Fury. I want to know how he managed to hang around so long," Elaine said.

"Well we already agreed we have to interrogate at least one of them when we get back," Kae pointed out.

"Right," Elaine said. She was quiet for a moment. "After I spend a bit of time with my family, though. I miss them."

"I know. We both do." Kae sighed quietly. She'd been trying not to think about them too much because it just made her sad. "But you said we should be back soon."

"Yeah," Elaine said. "Probably by this time tomorrow." And not a moment too soon, either; she was more than ready to go home.

Kae nodded. "Alright. Well, that's not so bad, we should be able to manage for that long."

Elaine nodded.

"If it takes longer than that, then I'll look for some help," she said. "But it shouldn't."

Kae nodded and relaxed a bit, just taking a bit of time to rest and relax. She could last another day before she saw her family.

More than that, though, and she might start getting really anxious.

It took slightly more than a day, but they did end up getting back home. Rather than waking up somewhere unfamiliar, Elaine found herself on the couch in the main living room of the Tower.
