"Alright," Elaine said. "I'll get the door when they get here."

"Thanks." Kae went to go check the guest room. She was already a little steadier on her new leg, which pleased her.

Fortunately she didn't have to do much to prepare the guest room, and she made sure the downstairs bathroom door was open and the light was on. Just in case.

They didn't need to wait long. It was barely ten minutes later that Elaine could hear someone stumbling up to the door, and Thor's loud, drunken Norse ramblings. Getting up, she opened the door and took a few steps to the side.

Kae hurried out when she heard the two, going over to escort them inside.

Loki didn't comment, just letting Kae herd them towards the guest room. He did blink when he noticed Kae walking (a little unsteadily still but walking) without crutches. He was about to ask when she cut him off.

"Bathroom is over there, if you need it. And if you need anything else, just yell." She smiled faintly and went back over to Elaine.

"So Thor is totally smashed."

"I almost don't even want to know what happened to get him into that state," Elaine said. "I thought it was impossible."

"Apparently not." Kae kept her voice dry, though she was very amused. "His grasp of the English language went on vacation, too."

"I can hear it," Elaine said. "He's babbling, and it's not the caffeine babble. Where's his brother?"

"In with him keeping an eye on him. I think. He could be contemplating the end of the world for all I know, but he's in with Thor." Kae shrugged. "And I think I heard something about mead."

Elaine bit her lip a little.

"That shouldn't surprise me," she said. "I think I suddenly understand how this happened. There was mead, and there was probably Bacchus."

Kae thought about that for a second before she groaned and put her head down in her hands.

"You realize now we'll have to deal with a god of thunder who is hungover tomorrow," she pointed out.

"No," Elaine replied. "We let him sober up, and then we send him back to Tony to deal with." Sounded fair to her. Let Tony deal with the hungover god of thunder.

Kae snorted. "Yeah, that does sound like a better plan." She shook her head and stretched out a bit.

"Well, I think I'm going to see if I can settle in for the night. Since Tony decided it's totally acceptable to send us a drunken god of thunder at 11 PM."

"Go on, then," Elaine said. "I'll check on the gods in the guest room, and then head to bed myself."

Kae nodded and yawned briefly before she headed upstairs to go get ready for bed. Because tomorrow was probably going to be just as crazy as normal.

Elaine trailed her fingers along the wall as she made her way to the guest room.

"Did he pass out yet?" she asked softly.

"Yes," Loki said, eyeing his brother with distaste. Thor was sprawled out over the bed and starting to snore. "Thankfully."

"What happened?" Elaine asked. "I can only assume it had something to do with Bacchus."

"Yes. They had a drinking contest." Loki rolled his eyes. "Bacchus won."

"I'm not surprised," Elaine said dryly. "God of wine and all. I could have told them the outcome of that one." She shook her head. "But I bet he had fun."

"He did indeed. Or her certainly seemed to." Loki shrugged. He'd had only a little mead himself, since he'd known he'd en up being responsible for his brother, instead of the other way around. Oh well. He'd just have to hold this over Thor's head later.

"Well, we'll know he's sober again when he smells like ozone rather than fermented honey," Elaine commented. She tapped her fingers on the wall for a moment. "I just came to check in. Kae just went up to bed, I'm going to do the same."

"Alright." Loki paused for a moment. "My brother told me it is kind to wish a human a good night's sleep, so sleep well." Because even he could tell that being a dick wasn't getting him anywhere.

"Don't strain yourself or anything," Elaine teased, grinning a bit. "But thanks. You have a good night, too."

Loki nodded and settled in a chair to keep an eye on his brother through the night. Just in case.

Elaine made her way up the stairs, carefully avoiding the broken part of the third step from the top, and made her way into her room. Sleep was definitely in order.
