Kae steered him along into the guest room, making sure he was able to get there on his own. Then she sighed and looked back at Elaine.

"I think I kind of want a drink."

"Go ahead," Elaine said. "I'm good for now, I think, but we've got plenty if you want some."

Kae nodded and got herself a drink, though she only sipped it.

"Well, what now? Leave him to himself for a while?"

"May as well," Elaine said. "As long as we don't hear anything breaking, or anything."

Kae nodded and went to go settle on the couch, turning the TV on low.

"So how are you feeling by now?"

"The same, I guess," Elaine replied, curling up on the couch. "It's still hard to sort everything out... It all feels like mine, even though I know it's not."

"I wonder if calling him again would make things better," she mused. "I mean, you've been kind of miserable for a few days. Maybe you should try talking to him."

"I don't know if that's a good idea," Elaine said. "I mean, I want to. God, I want to. But I don't know if I would do it normally."

"Well, clearly these feelings aren't going away," Kae pointed out. "And you've been feeling and acting kind of weird. So maybe it would be better if you just called him."

"I don't know..." Elaine murmured. She sighed.

"Well, it's just a thought. Don't worry about it too much." Kae shrugged. "You don't have to call him if you don't want to."

"I know," Elaine said. "I just don't know what to do." She made a bit of a face. "I'm never trusting our mythology books again, nowhere was it mentioned that this happened when a person gets sniped by Cupid."

"Well mostly that's because the two ended up either running off having wild bunny sex or being rejected and falling into despair. Things like that. This isn't exactly precendented."

"That was back when people didn't know any better," Elaine replied. "They thought the gods' influence was complete and absolute. We do know better."

Kae shrugged. "Well, staying away and trying to figure things out hasn't helped. Maybe just let it run wild for a bit and see what happens?"

"I don't want to take the chance of it getting out of control," Elaine pointed out. "There are so many ways for this to go wrong..." She sighed.

"It kind of already has." Kae shrugged. "But whatever you want. Just let me know if you need help with anything."

"I'll let you know," Elaine promised. "For now, I think just staying here is best."

Kae shrugged. "Alrighty then." She got herself another drink, still taking her time.

Elaine settled in quietly, turning on the tv for a little while and listening to it. Even just a news report was better than silence, and it was just distracting enough.

Kae half-listened to the news report, slowly getting tipsy. She was taking her time about it though.

So when she heard Thor moving around again, she sighed and got to her feat with only the slightest bit of wobbling. "I'll go check on him."

Elaine's brows furrowed slightly when she heard the faint waver in Kae's voice.

"You sure?" she asked. "I can go. You sound a bit... wobbly."

"Need to go get ready for bed soon anyway," Kae said with a shrug. "I'm fine. Thanks though."

She headed over to the guest room to check on Thor.

"Alright," Elaine replied, settling back into her chair.

Thor barely glanced over when the door opened, sprawled on the guest bed.

"Everything alright in here?" Kae glanced around the room to make sure he hadn't accidentally taken out half a wall or anything like that.
