"I know." Steve smiled a little. "I'll see you in a few minutes." He headed out to his bike so he could get going.

"I'll be waiting," Elaine said. Reluctantly, she hung up her phone and sat on the porch to wait.

Steve didn't take long to arrive, pulling up to the curb with his bike. Since he didn't have access to Tony's cars all the time, he figured they'd just have to make do with this. Or he could get Elaine to steal keys to Kae's car and he'd drive that.

"Elaine?" He headed over towards her, taking his time.

Elaine perked up as she heard the bike pull up. She knew the sound of that engine. She couldn't help but smile as she heard Steve's footsteps coming up the walkway.

"I can hear you," she replied, standing up. "Thanks for coming to get me. You didn't have to."

Steve shrugged. "I know I didn't have to," he said as he made his way over to her. "But I wanted to. I figured you'd like to get out of the house." He shrugged and stopped in front of her.

"Will you be okay on the bike?"

"I think so," Elaine said cautiously. "I mean, as long as there aren't any crazy stunts or anything..." She'd never been on a motorcycle before, but she wanted to get away from the house with him more than she wanted to stay away from the bike.

Steve nodded. "I won't do anything weird or crazy, I promise." He took her hand, leading her back over to his bike. "You'll be sitting behind me, so just swing your leg over and get as comfortable as you can."

"Alright," Elaine said. Gingerly, she did as instructed and felt her way into the 'passenger' seat of the bike. She was reluctant to let go of his hand, even though holding it made her blush.

Steve got her to latch onto his jacket instead, since he kind of needed his hands to steer, and gave her a minute to get settled. "Hang on," he reminded her, pulling away from the curb, still driving slowly.

Even with his warning, Elaine still squeaked in surprise when the bike started moving and latched her arms around his waist, holding on tightly. She didn't miss how wonderfully sculpted his muscles were even under the leather jacket, and tried very, very hard not to think about that as she clung to him.

Steve got up to speed once they got onto the actual street, but he stuck to the speed limit, since he didn't feel the need to do anything faster than that.

Elaine still held on tightly to him. She only had a vague idea of where they were; there were only two ways to get off of her street, and she knew them both, but after the first couple of turns or so, she was lost. So she had to trust that Steve knew where they were and could get her back home later.

Steve parked after a few minutes, glancing back at her. "We're here," he said quietly. "Just keep a hand on my shoulder to balance when you get up."

Elaine made herself let go of his waist when the bike stopped. She wanted to keep holding on, but she knew she shouldn't. It was just the effects of the love arrow doing that to her. So she let go and carefully got off of the bike.

"Where are we?" she asked.

"This is the diner I mentioned," Steve said quietly. "The one that's open all night. We can stay here and talk, if you like."

Elaine bit her lip and blushed a little.

"I wouldn't mind that," she said.

"Alright." Steve nodded and took her hand, leading her inside and to a booth. "Um. Should I read the menu to you, or do you just want coffee? Or tea?" He floundered a little.

"Tea is fine," Elaine said. "Black tea, no sugar." She could tell he was floundering a bit. "What do you usually get here?"

"Depends. I usually get coffee. Sometimes I'll get pie. The pie here is great." Steve smiled a little. "Home made from scratch. Not mass produced."

"Kae makes pies from scratch," Elaine commented. She could tell Steve was being honest about the pie. "What kind do they have here?"

"Pumpkin, cherry, apple, pecan, mixed berry..." Steve trailed off and shrugged after a moment. "All sorts. I haven't tried all of them yet."

"But I'm betting you always default back to the apple pie?" Elaine teased. "The American classic, after all."

"If you decide you're hungry, you should try some. On me." Steve smiled a little.
