Steve smiled a little, though it was still tight and awkward.

"At least you won't have to introduce me," he said quietly to Elaine. Apparently some of Stark's snark was rubbing off on him.

Elaine couldn't help but snicker a bit. Yeah, that was a Tony-esque comment.

"Steve is going to join us for Thanksgiving," she said to her relatives. She sent them all a look that clearly said 'Behave or else' and she tapped her cane on the floor for a moment. Then she grinned. "Is punkin chunkin on yet?"

Steve was quick to settle in once the others started doing other things, and he was no longer the center of attention. He didn't stray far from Elaine, though, not wanting to tempt fate too much and have some of the cousins descend on him.

It was a few hours into the visit when one of Elaine's cousins finally rounded up the nerve to go up to him. Alexis bounced over, her blonde hair pulled back, and her little Thor costume modified with a poofy black-and-red tutu.

"Hi!" she chirped.

Steve looked at her before his lips twitched and he knelt so he was closer to her level.

"Hello," he greeted quietly. "I see you're a supporter of our group. Or at least one of us." He was struggling to keep his huge grin down to just a smile. But oh he was going to find a way to take a picture of this girl back to Thor.

Alexis smiled brightly and nodded.

"He's amazing!" she gushed, waving her arms a little.

"He is," Steve agreed solemnly. "I'm sure he'd love to know that he has a fan."

Alexis bounced on her toes excitedly, making her tutu bounce as well, and she was beaming.

Steve chuckled at that. "I could write a letter to him for you," he offered. "And maybe we could get a picture for him? I bet he'd love that."

Alexis's face lit up as she gasped.

"You can do that?" she asked. Then she took on a more determined expression. "I gotta write it. I know how to write and I gots my crayons."

Steve nodded. "That will be even better," he encouraged. "How about we go see about finding some paper?" And then he could ask Elaine about getting a picture, because this just needed to happen. Like now.

Alexis beamed again and bounced off to find some paper. She had her crayons, of course, but only coloring books. Coloring books weren't good for writing such important things.

Steve cleared off a space for her so she could have somewhere to write, and then he went and found Elaine.

"Do you think it would be possible to get a few pictures?" he asked quietly. "One of your little cousins is dressed as Thor, and I think he'd like to see."

Elaine couldn't help but grin.

"Alexis, yeah," she said. "Kenny told me about it. Kenny's her dad, my oldest cousin. Use your phone to get a picture, it should be alright. I don't know if anyone has an actual camera."

Steve looked blank. "I can do that?" he asked, his voice equally blank. He had no idea how to do that with his phone. "Um. Maybe I should get someone else to do that."

Elaine bit her lip to keep from laughing. It was just too adorable.

"Let me see your phone," she said, reaching over to take it. Once she had it, she turned towards her cousins. "Kenny! Think you can get a picture of Lexi for me to send to Kae?"

"Lainey, who gave you a smartphone?" Kenny asked as he came over.

"My other one broke," Elaine said. She beamed. "Please, Kenny?"

Kenny gave a put-upon sigh, but took the phone just as Alexis skipped back over to them. He snapped a quick picture, and then handed the phone back to Elaine.

"Thanks, Kenny," Elaine said as she handed the phone back to Steve.

Steve grinned briefly. He'd show it to Thor once they got back to the Tower. "Thanks," he told both Elaine and Kenny before kneeling again to look at Alexis.

"Need any help with that?" he asked. "I cleared a spot for you."

Alexis beamed as she held a piece of blank paper in one hand and a fistful of crayons in the other. She promptly plopped down and grabbed a red crayon.

"What is she doing?" Kenny asked quietly.

"Writing a fan letter to Thor," Elaine replied just as quietly, grinning. "Steve offered to deliver it for her."

"Wait, he's delivering fan-mail?" Valencia asked, her eyes wide. She glanced at Steve. "If I write one, will you take it with you?"

"Sure," Steve said after a moment, kind of surprised. "Might as well." He glanced around at the others. "If anyone else wants to write a letter..."

"What about to Tony Stark?" Tom asked, poking his head around a corner. His brother Jake also looked interested.

"I'll give them to him if he hasn't burnt down the kitchen again." Steve smiled, genuinely amused now. Clearly there were more Avengers fans around than he'd thought.

Elaine waved a hand.

"Kae's there and besides, doesn't he have a fire-extinguisher-happy robot?" Even as she spoke, half of her relatives were suddenly scrambling for pen and paper.

"He does," Steve agreed mildly. "And I'm fairly sure Clint, er, Hawkeye wouldn't let things get that bad. Besides, Bruce might have him holed up in his lab to keep him out of Kae's way."

"He could try," Elaine said. "Kae would make Tony stick around in hopes of teaching him something new." Before she could say anything else, Alexis stood up and held out her letter to Steve.

Steve took the letter and glanced it over before he smiled down at Alexis.

"Great," he praised. "I'll give this to him later tonight."
