"Basically six. They redid Gold and Silver, so they have entirely new sprites and crap." Tony shrugged. "It's just about enough to make them a different gen entirely." He grinned briefly when he noticed how lost Steve was. "I'll loan you my Gameboy, Cap."

"I started playing Silver," Elaine admitted, "but I never got the chance to finish it. It was better than Red-Blue-Yellow, though, I remember that." She grinned a bit. "I'm not sure whether to be surprised or not you still have a working Gameboy somewhere."

"I got bored and I tinkered with it." Tony shrugged like it was nothing. "But it's time to get going, since you're kicking us out early." He grinned briefly though, clearly not actually upset.

Elaine would have rolled her eyes, but nodded all the same and walked them out, locking the doors behind her. Kae had left the building first, to get her car.

Kae was waiting in her car, having parked it right by the doors and left it idling so that Elaine would hear. The other two would be fine on their own; she just wanted to get home as soon as possible so she could dig into the ice cream and figure out what the hell was going on.

Elaine felt her way around to the passenger's side door and got into the car.

"What happened in there, Kae?" she asked softly as she strapped in.

"I couldn't stay there," Kae said quietly, starting to drive carefully back home. "I just couldn't. Remember Fury sent down an envelope for me before we left?"

"No," Elaine replied. "I remember someone handing something to you, and it sounded like paper, so it might have been an envelope." She waved a hand to get Kae to continue. "Assuming that's what it was, what was in it?"

"Well, that's what it was," Kae said. "It's... it's a loose family tree. Not too detailed, but it's a family tree. Going back a few generations."

"A family tree?" Elaine repeated, baffled. "Why in the world would they give you that? Was I supposed to get one?" It didn't make any sense.

"I don't think so. Not unless you have some relatives you don't know about." Kae smiled without humor. "My great-grandmother married into the King family. Her family name before she married, though... was Stark."

"What?" Elaine faced her friend, eyes wide. "No way. Can't be. Are you sure?" Because that was just weird in a lot of ways, not the least of which being that Kae was sort of somehow related to Tony Stark.

"It came from Fury. I'm guessing his intel is correct." Kae swallowed as she made the turn to head home. "I'll have to double-check myself, since I still have most of the family records, but..."

"But for now, we'll go home and dig out that bottle of rum in the pantry," Elaine finished for her. "We can pick up some Coke on our way home for it, and we can settle in for the evening with rum and Coke and see if the world looks better in the morning."

"I like that plan." Kae pulled into the little corner store on the way home, parking quickly. "Alright, I'm going to grab Coke. Anything else we want?"

"We ran out of Bailey's," Elaine replied. "I think we drank the last of it the night we realized just who we were babysitting at work. Aside from that, get whatever snackage you want, I'll share with you."

"Alright. I'll be back in a few minutes, then." Kae got out and left the keys with Elaine so she could keep the air conditioning on.

It only took her a few minutes to grab the necessary alcohol and snacks, and she put the bags in the back seat.

"Okay, so I binged a bit. I got Bailey's and Kahlua, mandarin orange vodka, Coke, Sprite, and snacks." Kae shrugged. "If nothing else, at least we'll have tasty stuff for when we need a drink again."

"Orange vodka?" Elaine asked, wrinkling her nose a bit. "That sounds a bit weird, but alright. It might be interesting with the Sprite. So now we'll go home, nuke some leftovers for dinner, and indulge a bit while we puzzle over this whole thing."

"Yeah. That sounds like an excellent plan to me." Kae grimaced, starting to drive again. "I still can't believe I'm related to him."

"Distantly," Elaine pointed out, "and through marriage, it sounds like. So only on a technicality." She grinned. "Although maybe just enough that you could thump him with your crutches and be justified."

Kae snorted at that. "Yeah. We can thump him now and be justified, when he's being his normal snarky self." She shrugged, pulling into the driveway. "But we'll see how it goes. I doubt he even knows."

"Probably," Elaine agreed. She waited until she was sure the car was stopped before she got out. "Well, we're home, let's go in and relax."

"Yup. Want me to heat up the spaghetti leftovers?" Kae brought in the bags from the store, going straight back to the kitchen to put them away.

"Sounds good to me," Elaine replied. She toed off her shoes at the door and hung her purse and cane on a hook there. Then she carefully made her way into the living room, counting her steps and using the furniture to guide herself around.

Kae took care of dinner, heating everything up and bringing out the pitcher of iced tea to have with dinner. They could get into the alcohol later.
