Instead of jumping right in, Elaine sat on the edge of the pool and just dangled her feet in. She would watch them for a while before getting in for a swim herself.

Kae jumped in after the kids, grinning almost evilly. As soon as she surfaced, however, she yelped and went back under the water. Clint had decided she needed dunking, and he had managed to.

A few moments later, though, he yelped as she sent him flying a few feet through the air and into the pool again with a splash. Kae shook herself as she surfaced, and Clint was grinning like a loon when he popped up.

"That was awesome!" he crowed, swimming over to her. "Do it again!"

Elaine just laughed as she watched them. Yes, the pool day was perfect for the boys.

"Tony," she said, glancing around, "why don't you come and sit here with me? I promise you don't have to go into the pool."

Tony eyed the pool for a few moments before he walked over and sat next to Elaine, carefully keeping himself away from the water.

Elaine grinned a bit when Tony sat down.

"Now you're a bit closer to the fun, that's all," she said. "Promise, this is as close as you need to get."

Tony nodded. "Good," he said emphatically, settling in there. But he did have to admit it was fun watching the others.

Especially when they dunked each other and tried to dunk Kae. Repeatedly and with great vigor and enthusiasm.

Elaine waited for a little while longer before slipping into the pool herself. She stayed where it was only about waist-deep, but briefly went under to get all wet before coming back up.

Kae ended up throwing the kids across the pool again, grinning, though she was very careful about it. And the kids all had a great time, even Tony.

So when Kae decided to get out a little while later and go flop over on the floor for a while, there was a bit of grumbling but the kids let her, reluctantly.

Eventually, all the boys were tired out enough to take them back upstairs to dry off and nap for a while. Once they were all napping, Elaine settled on the couch.

"That was fun," she said.

"It was fun," Kae agreed with a grin. "It was also good practice for me." Because at least half of the time she'd been using her powers to help her lift the kids enough to get a good throw.

Elaine grinned.

"Cheater," she teased good-naturedly.

"They loved it," Kae shot back with a grin, stretching out with a happy little groan.

"So, movie tonight to keep them occupied?"

"Sure," Elaine said. She grinned a bit. "I've been kind of missing claymation, so Corpse Bride or Nightmare Before Christmas?"

"Hmm. Corpse Bride. It's a little early for Nightmare Before Christmas." Kae grinned.

"It's always a good time for that movie," Elaine replied. "But Corpse Bride it is." She grinned. "And we'll warn them all ahead of time that none of it is real and none of it needs to be questioned." She gave a vague gesture to the entertainment center. "Do your thing, then. Magic the DVD into the player."

Kae grinned and sat up, focusing. The DVD floated over the player, obediently hovering there while the player opened. Then the remote floated over to them.

She was looking rather smug at that.

Elaine grinned and clapped.

"Very impressive," she said. "Next you'll be flying, I'm sure."

Kae grinned. "Soon," she said. "It's harder with heavier objects." She stretched briefly. "Now go get the kids and I'll get dinner ready."

Elaine snorted.

"I'm not surprised you're going to work on flying," she replied. She grinned. "Of course, I'd do the same." Getting up, she stretched a bit and went to wake the boys for dinner.

The next few days passed quickly for the girls, and Kae found herself once again on the floor, watching the kids. Bruce was sitting next to her again, and Loki decided he wanted to take a nap. On Kae's lap. So he moved over and plopped himself in Kae's lap, absently shuffling over to move Bruce out of the way.

Bruce gave Loki something of a wounded look, and moved back closer to Kae again. There was enough space for them both, right?

Loki's eyes narrowed. No, no there wasn't enough room for them both. He wanted his naptime on one of his two favorite humans. Besides, he wasn't a big fan of Bruce anyway, since Bruce was the only other kid that got so much of Tony's attention. So he settled down more firmly there so Bruce didn't have much leeway.

Bruce tried to wiggle himself in right next to Kae, steadfastly ignoring the annoyed look from Loki. Bruce had been there first, after all.

Loki's eyes narrowed and he moved, purposely sprawling out so that his feet were sticking out in Bruce's way.

Bruce's hands clenched into fists, but he was still doing a pretty good job of keeping himself in check. He was trying so hard not to get angry, but Loki was making it very difficult.

"Please stop," he said quietly, making one more attempt to stay close to Kae.
