"Stop what?" Loki asked with a smug and knowing little smile. He didn't move out of Bruce's way. He found it was rather fun to poke the sleeping beast and see how long it took for him to snap.

"There's enough room for us both," Bruce tried again. There was, however, the faintest green tint to his skin.

Loki stretched a little on purpose. "Nope. Don't think so." He smirked again, acting all of six (which he currently was) and acting like a spoiled little prince. Which technically he was.

Bruce probably would have been able to keep his temper, if he hadn't seen that infuriating little smirk. That was likely what did it. With a growl, he turned completely into the Hulk. Reaching over the Hulk hauled Loki out of Kae's lap, dumped him off to the side, and promptly climbed into Kae's lap himself, curling up there.

Kae squeaked when she noticed the exchange. She hadn't been paying too much attention to the boys, having figured that Loki knew better than to badger Bruce.

Clearly she'd been wrong.

But she was thrown completely for a loop when Hulk curled up in her lap. She looked down at the big ball of green and blinked helplessly.

Clearly, the Hulk was comfortable where he was, because it didn't take him long to shrink back down into Bruce. Bruce, however, was already napping.

Reaching over, Elaine picked up Loki.

"You, over here," she said, settling him into her own lap. "No more poking the sleeping Hulk."

Loki pouted a little but settled down against Elaine instead. Steve was already in her lap, and he knew better than to try and move him.

Kae looked down at Bruce, idly combing down his hair and pondering on what exactly it meant that the Hulk had decided her lap was a good place to nap.

Elaine wrapped an arm lightly around Loki, and raised an eyebrow at Kae. What had just happened?

Kae shrugged helplessly. She didn't know. Hell, she was still trying to figure it out herself. She didn't let go of Bruce though.

After a moment, Elaine shrugged as well. She didn't know why it had happened, but nobody got hurt, so it was alright.

Kae shook her head, still totally befuddled, and absently ran her fingers through Bruce's hair. So she was completely confused, but she wasn't going to complain about having him in her lap.

Luckily, the next group outing was much more low-key than the aquarium: just a simple trip to the park. And the outing itself went smoothly, as well. It was after the park that things got a little... tricky. There was a pet store on the way back to the tower, and the boys, being kids, wanted to go in.

Kae sighed as Tony and Loki ran inside, practically pulling her in with them. Shaking her head, she let the kids go look at all the fish first, and then head towards the back of the store, where they had puppies and kittens.

Steve stopped by the dogs, looking in on a little Dalmatian puppy. The puppy barked at him, putting his feet on the glass and wagging frantically at Steve, who melted a little.

Bruce was quietly looking at the fish, admiring how calm and serene most of them were. A display of graceful goldfish caught his attention, and he stood there for a few moments just watching them.

Elaine noticed that Steve had stopped, and went back to see what had caught his eye. She melted a little inside when she saw the puppy.

Steve looked at the puppy, putting a hand against the glass. The puppy enthusiastically licked the spot, and he melted even more. He may have whimpered a little himself and looked pleadingly at Elaine.

Kae moved over next to Bruce, looking at the fish and smiling. "Like them?" she asked, crouching next to him.

"Don't give me that look," Elaine protested weakly. The puppy was cute enough on its own, but Steve giving her that look... He may only have been six at the moment, but she still couldn't refuse him. Not really.

"They're... peaceful," Bruce said softly, touching the glass tank gently.

"But..." Steve pouted, his lower lip jutting out a little. As if understanding more cuteness was necessary, the puppy whimpered and sat there, looking at both of them with huge brown puppy eyes, long thin tail wagging hopefully.

"They are. They're fun to watch, too." Kae smiled. "Think you'd want to bring a few home?"

Elaine could feel her resolve wavering. She really didn't have it in her to deny Steve.

"Alright," she finally said. "You have to take care of it, though," she warned. "It will need walks every day, fresh food and water, brushing, everything."

"Am I allowed?" Bruce asked cautiously.

Steve nodded eagerly, grinning. "I can do that!" He grinned even wider and throw his arms around her, although he was careful not to hug her too tightly.

"Sure, if you want," Kae said with a smile. "We can get a tank and bring a few fish home. I mean, you'll have to take care of them, but fish are great. I had fish when I was younger."

Elaine returned the hug gently, trying not to think about how much she missed regular Steve. After she had a moment to get herself together again, she went to ask about adopting the puppy.

"I'd like that," Bruce said.

Steve stood there and waited for an employee to bring the dog out. Then he kept hold of the puppy's leash, happily acquainting himself with the puppy and then leading it over to meet Elaine.

Kae nodded and went to go pick out a tank and things with him. When she noticed Steve had a puppy, she sighed and got a cart so she could pick up some other items she knew would become necessary.

"I couldn't say no to him," Elaine said softly to Kae as they passed each other. "I'm such a marshmallow..."

"That's okay, Bruce is getting some fish," Kae admitted with a grin. Then she paused and looked at Tony and Loki, who were looking in at the last two kittens in the store. "Oh man."

Elaine followed her gaze and spotted the two. She spotted the kittens at the same time.

"Oh my, kittens," she said quietly.

"Indeed," Kae said with a little grin. "You'd better go take a look, make sure Loki's not doing anything bad." She nudged Elaine towards the two boys and the kittens before she returned to Bruce to help him pick out fish.
